Save up to 25 cents off a gallon- LOL Yea ok- the most i saved in the past 2 months was 7 cents on a gallon- i will be dumping gas buddy and trying circle K they advertise 10 cents off a gallon using their card on their sign- Gas buddy is a rip off.
A card was supposedly mailed to me twice, and I have never received either of them. I am unable to remove my banking info from the app, and customer service refuses to cancel my account despite my requests.
Seems there is a outbreak of liars joining Gasbuddy. They mass report prices in a given area all within minutes of each other and they're wrong prices. They even go back later and change them again. There's no way of reporting tjem. The only fix I see is the stop using the app.
In Southern California regular members post inaccurate prices for rewards. No one checks. The more they post the bigger the payment.
No matter how many times you call, you're in an endless loop of automated prompts. There seems to be no way to bypass and speak with an agent apparently. I've made several attempts to use the card and it never goes through. My issue could probably be easily resolved if I had the opportunity to speak with a live person instead of listening to a useless recording.
I live in Innisfil Ontario, and regularly go to Costco Barrie, where they have the best local price on premium. But something has gone wrong with the reporting on premium pricing. It is always posting a fictitious price which is much higher than their actual price. Who is fooling with this?
There is a $75 GasBuddy card limit which is ridiculous considering today's prices. Couldn't even fill my tank!
I use the app almost every time I need gas. I search Current Location—or anywhere else. Sometimes I'll check a location I plan to visit in case gas is cheaper there.
Today, just now, I paid 20¢/gallon less because I searched my current location and found Power Plus Automotive in Belmont, MA was that much less than my go-to, Watertown Gas. The stations are ~equidistant but I would have driven a little further to save the $2.80.
At least as of this writing, I have only encountered one incorrect price—the price I paid was less. (This actually happened today.)
I didn't know I could Favorite stations until I read someone else's review. (Heart upper right corner but sometimes the heart doesn't seem to appear.)
Based on reviews, I'll skip the GasBuddy card, at least until more issues are resolved. It doesn't seem consistent, often defaults to "credit" price, and issues with double billing or inability to use the card.
Horrible gas to much water an guy there is very rude wouldn't go there if gas was 25 cent an very over priced
If I could give this app a less than 1 star rating, I would. Tried to activate my card so that I could use it and all went fine until I got to the credit/debit card details. GasBuddy wants you to get free movies/services and will not let one proceed to register the gas card even if you uncheck that box saying that you don't want any. In other words, they are insisting that you must try out their movie deal. Don't waste your time as this is a scam ripoff... couldn't even register.
I installed the phone app and online app with my laptop. It buffers, buffers and never loads. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times. Not sure why it worked fine for 2 days and now nothing. Sadly the program is useless to me.
I thought this would be great way to save money on gas purchases until they asked for my drivers license number. No company does that, Why would they possibly need my drivers license number and do they verify the number with the Mass Registry. I was in but now I am out and so should you.
If you review the reported winner's history, which is available by clicking on their name, you'll notice an unusual number of winners with little or no reporting history, especially those with the default name of "buddy" something. While the vast majority of winners appear to be legit, there's enough anomalies to be suspicious of the fairness of the site.
Was charged the exact same price as was on the pump. NO DISCOUNT AT ALL. I saved NOT A PENNY. And I drove out of my way to go to this station. I inserted my card as instructed and nothing... no savings.
Generally very good, I do recommend it to others. With the favorites, I am able to check several stations I use frequently. Occasionally, the pump price varies from the app. This is mostly because other users don't update and verify the prices on the app. It's simple to do and you do recieve bonus points for helping track prices.
Gas buddy should list stations with Ethanol free premium as a main category, not lust price. I need to know this information.
Lots of user reporting fake price or simply confirming false price to get points. 100% not reliable. Delete app!
What a waste of time this card is. They say save up to 25 cents a gallon. Yes, perhaps if you pay a monthly membership fee! Then it is more than a hassle to use. It links itself to your bank account to withdraw funds rather than working like a credit card. You then have to go through the hassle of finding a gas station that accepts the card. For example, I have a convenient Mobil station close to my house. They do not accept GasBS. When you finally find a gas station that does, you have to click on it and it activates the deal for a very finite amount of hours in which you much purchase the gas to then save a big 5 cents a gallon after all the hassle. Not thanks GasBS!
I made a special trip just to learn the gas price on Gas Buddy was incorrect. Also when using Gas Buddy with Kroger Fuel Points the $75 daily or $300 weekly limit includes the total before Kroger Fuel Points are subtracted. I had $1.00 per gallon discount with Kroger Fuel Points but the pump shut down when I reached the daily limit. I could have put 7 more gallons in and saved $7 more but ended up with an unfilled tank and loss of Kroger Points. The usual $. 05+- per gallon using Gas Buddy is not worth the hassle and potential loss of Kroger Fuel Points an a partially filled tank.
Useless piece of crap. Customer service... is there one? Can't get through to them via phone, text or email. After 4 attempts, I finally got their card, the explanation being it had been sent to my former address. Wha...? Huh? I've lived at this address for over 35 years, well before GB existed. Emails either go unanswered or are answered with the screwiest replies weeks later. App is a bad joke. Pop-ups out the kazoo, proving NOTHING is free. Really off-the-wall gas station locations when I plug in my Memphis, TN zip code. Kansas City, KS and Oak Park, IL... really? I uninstalled the app from my phone and tried to unsubscribe from their emails, but couldn't find a link to do that within their emails or on their website, so for what it may be worth, I unsubscribed via GMail's link, hopefully sedning GB's emails straight to Spam. I'd like to be able to send it straight to Trash or better, have the option of sending GB emails straight to Hell. Gas "Buddy" my $#*!!
Answer: Nobody I know has ever won. I have been a member over 9 years and I've never won. I entered 103,000 points, 103 tickets, all at once the day after St. Patrick's Day and I didn't win. So the short answer is someone must be winning these things, but you probably have better odds with a lottery scratcher. I also find it strange that often times the winners are brand new to the website with low point totals and often stop using the website after they win, kinda strange.
Answer: I see lots of people here reporting issues using GB, but my wife and I have had nothing but good luck using it all up and down the east cost. No false charges, not wrong prices, etc. we try and faithfully confirm or correct any prices off, but that rarely happens and is only a couple cents here and there when it does. Happy user here! YMMV
Answer: I just used it for the first time and I guess I didn't read enough of the fine print. I was expecting to see the price drop at the pump, but instead I needed up paying full retail price at the pump and I guess the savings is supposed to come off the back end when it hits my bank. Not sure, but I can tell you this, that was my first and last time using the card. I would rather see my savings immediately at the pump than have to wait to hopefully see them show up in my bank account. Ill just continue to use my loyalty cards. I hope this helps!
Answer: I cannot currently imagine as to why the rating is so low. My experience has been perfect in South Florida so far. GasBuddy is always accurate, works great on my android smartphone, links up well with turn by turn audible directions to the cheapest gas station. Therefore I rated this app 5 stars and I never do this unless it always makes my life easier to manage day to day.
