I've only used GasBuddy a couple of times. Simply because when I go to activate an offer at a certain gas station it only gives me a 0.02¢ discount. When I asked the support team about it they said that I had actually activated another gas station. I literally sent them a picture of the gas station I did activate. It's kind of frustrating that they're telling me oh you actually activated a gas station which was in an entirely different town, even though I literally sent them proof that I didn't.
They seem to show inaccurate prices. They have a station listed with gas at $2.99. I drove over and it was $3.49. Big difference. Not reliable.
I redeemed all
My gasback for a electronic gift card per instructions. Never got the card and nobody ever responds.
I'm getting these emails like twice a week - I've blocked them on my sender list and unsubscribed and they're still coming through! Incredibly annoying, this should be illegal right? GO AWAY
I accidentally signed up for the 9.99 plan and kept it a few months before attempting to cancel. My android app would not allow me to cancel. The customer sevice number rings hangs up on you.
I "chatted" with a person who did not end up canceling my membership altho they knew exactly what I was talking about... that an android phone app does not allow you to cancel. Days later it was the first of the month & they charged me again! I had to get my bank involved to deny future charges. They fraudulently got another 9.99 from me and I never remember signing up for the 9.99 premium plan in the first place.
The gas savings is a joke even in a premium plan. 21 cents off $54.
GusBuddy should be sued.
Started getting emails from them about "my account". I'm not American, have never heard of them and don't want the spam, so they can bugger off. Highly unprofessional.
I used it 6x so far. Put 1$ in cashapp account and wait a week for it to verify account and you can get 100$ of gas out of it each time. Technically it's wrong to do, but for those of us who can't afford inflation rise gotta do what you gotta do to get to work and bust our $#*! to have to take everything we can get when we can
They charged me 29.50 three times in one day, and again the next day for nsf, happened a month ago and can't reach anyone about it
I was a heavy user of Gasbuddy for over a decade to save costs. There website was wonderful. However, recently they did some sort of software upgrade and nothing is as good as it was. Now I can only find prices at 10% of the stations nearby where it used to be over 90%. I will be looking for a new website.
Not only are their prices inaccurate but I signed up for their GasBuddy card, and it's a waste of steps and time. It sounds helpful enough, you use the app to activate your 3-5 cent discount, you use your GB card and it links directly to your bank account… only thing is that "discount" never gets applied. I thought it was user error but I tried it 3 separate times at 3 separate gas stations and nothing activated. I thought maybe the billed amount would be less on my bank statement but never received a discount. Better off using a points back credit card.
I tried calling their customer service department, might as well not count on that, it's non-existent.
GasBuddy put a duplicate transaction on my bank account, and reading these reviews, I believe they intentionally stole my money. I've filed a dispute with my bank account but we will have to see. Absolutely DO NOT give these crooks your bank account, the risk is NOT worth it to save a lousy couple of cents!
I saved a whole $0.07 per gallon Whoopi! The other two attempts said the purchase was not eligible. Well then why the heck was it posted on your website if the gas station was not eligible for reimbursement? And in my area, I I very seldom see saving more than sometimes one cent so why is it worth my trouble?
I had an issue with a charge, so I contacted Customer Service. They do not call back, they send canned emails that go around in circles. I have filed a complaint with my state's consumer board. Don't download the app and get their card, it is not worth it.
I recently had a duplicate transaction on my card and I emailed GasBuddy that I was charged twice on my card for only one stop at the pump but no one from their customer service department has replied back to my email. I then called their customer service department but no one picks up the phone! I am thinking this company is a one man operation or a SCAM! The total amount of the duplicate transaction came out to a total of $200! I want my money back!
Gasbuddy sends you a debit card that gets linked to your bank account: don't do it! The savings are 20-70 cent per 20 gallons of fuel. Not worth it, because they will charge your account with random charges. I complained after they charged my bank account twice for gas that I did not buy. I complained - and they didn't even read my email, but simply sent a copy & paste email back. I sent multiple emails asking when and where my card was charged (when I use it, I get an email with transaction details, but when they post fraudulent charges, there is no email with details), but they simply ignore me.
I filed with BBB.
Do NOT allow this scam company access to your bank account.
Very suspicious that when you view the list of winners there are many with the username beginning with Buddy….
All appear to be from the U. S
Coincidence?!
Premium is not
Worth it. You will end up paying more in late processing /NSF charges and they cap the premium benefit at savings at 50gal which is the same price as the membership cost per month. Takes days to pull money from your account.
They were supposed to send a card so I could use the balance I've accrued in the account. They never sent the card and I've reached out to email support numerous times with absolutely no response back. Terrible and non existent customer support.
Gas buddy is a online game with people reporting prices for points and there never correctly reported. Started out with good intentions but has run its course. Just use app for fuel stop you'll be fueling. Murphys, speedway are a couple that report prices correctly
I typically can wait until my car is running on fumes (well, almost) to refuel and try to remember to use my GasBuddy card, at a SHELL location, and shell will discount my fuel on top of the "possible" slight discount with GasBuddy, after I activate a discount. I had a 30 cent per gallon discount today, via SHELL. So, GAS BUDDY, (the actual payment method in this case), is still capping a daily limit at 75.00, which caused me to only get 14. Xx gallons at a 30 cents off, and I missed quite a bit of a discount because of this. Really? Can we raise the daily cap to $100 or $125 considering gas is approaching $8/$9 a gallon in some areas?
So, it's basically COSTING me money (a discount) to use the GasBuddy card now? LOL
Answer: Nobody I know has ever won. I have been a member over 9 years and I've never won. I entered 103,000 points, 103 tickets, all at once the day after St. Patrick's Day and I didn't win. So the short answer is someone must be winning these things, but you probably have better odds with a lottery scratcher. I also find it strange that often times the winners are brand new to the website with low point totals and often stop using the website after they win, kinda strange.
Answer: I see lots of people here reporting issues using GB, but my wife and I have had nothing but good luck using it all up and down the east cost. No false charges, not wrong prices, etc. we try and faithfully confirm or correct any prices off, but that rarely happens and is only a couple cents here and there when it does. Happy user here! YMMV
Answer: I just used it for the first time and I guess I didn't read enough of the fine print. I was expecting to see the price drop at the pump, but instead I needed up paying full retail price at the pump and I guess the savings is supposed to come off the back end when it hits my bank. Not sure, but I can tell you this, that was my first and last time using the card. I would rather see my savings immediately at the pump than have to wait to hopefully see them show up in my bank account. Ill just continue to use my loyalty cards. I hope this helps!
Answer: I cannot currently imagine as to why the rating is so low. My experience has been perfect in South Florida so far. GasBuddy is always accurate, works great on my android smartphone, links up well with turn by turn audible directions to the cheapest gas station. Therefore I rated this app 5 stars and I never do this unless it always makes my life easier to manage day to day.
