I've been using this app for more than a year and I haven't had any problems with it. I've used both the regular savings side of it as well as the Shop Your Way points side of it. While using the Shop your way points side of it, you don't get the 5 cents per gallon savings, though. It's a trade off. I also use the Gas Buddy card in tandem with other fuel rewards programs like Shell Fuel Rewards and Kroger's Shoppers Card to maximize my savings. I also just signed up for the Gas Buddy plus plan which basically charges you $5 for $6 in savings. So, granted, you're only really coming out a buck ahead, but that's better than nothing. Every little bit helps. That's the attitude you have to have going into this app. And for the people reviewing this that don't like that it accesses your account, I can say that I have never had any issue with any unauthorized charges from this.
As for the gas price finder side of the app, you get out of it what you and those around you put into it. I participate regularly in updating the prices at gas stations along my route and I usually find the prices shown in the app are pretty accurate. When they are off, I correct them.

When I' m driving (one -way) i dont want my tanks to full of fuel at my destination (round trip- yes), i could save more money on fuel if could put the desired number of gallons i want in my tanks at my destination while letting the app find the cheapest fuel prices along my route.The app isnt made for tractor tràilers (trouble waiting to happen), for them it should allow truckers to rate and choose which truck stops will accomadate big rigs.

I first started using GasBuddy when my dad passed away about 6 years ago. We had to drive to AZ from WA State. We really relied heavily on the app to help us not only find gas stations, but the ones with the best prices. I always use the app, whether local or on road trips. We also relied on it quite heavily 2 & 1/2 years ago when we took a road trip to Boston for my son's wedding. This app has been a real life saver for us. There were times we weren't sure we'd be able to find a gas station because we took a lot of scenic routes so we could do a lot of sight seeing and it was so easy thanks to this app. This app was a real life saver on those trips. I even use it for local prices.

Its a shame I read the reviews after I sent for the card and tried to activate the card and some how ended up with 2 cards that did the exact same thing but customer service were are they at... hello its a damn computer generated response and the number on the back of the card u call it and u get told to go to the help.gasbuddy.com to resolve ur concerns. But wow after a while i finally get a response from gas buddy WOW. After going over and over with this idiot about the same thing in an email I finally picked up on his words this jackass is another scammer who actually opened a business app and had a good thing going for a while but he screwed up somewhere and now everyone is pissed off. Well Im one of those pissed off people and I let his $#*! know it. I reported his $#*! to the better business bureau and went online and reported his $#*! and whomever he`s with to the FBI and to the $#*! who was talking all that $#*! about pay attention to the small print $#*! you most likely work for his $#*! so $#*! go to hell... If anyone else having any of these problems I suggest u do the same thing in reporting the because they are after ur information... I`ve delt with these people in the past and scamming elderly out of their money. All those bogus calls u get from the east coast are the same people... Gas buddy is a scammmmm. Their day of reckoning is coming...

Gasbuddy has an app for reporting gas prices. You have to have gps on and report on the app in order to get credit. The credit is worth nothing at all, except to the cheaters. The cheaters post on the web with no gps required. They normally wait 2 to 3 hours after someone posts prices and then they repost them. The person using the app has to put gas in their car to report prices while the cheaters sit at home copying the prices which are often outofdate by the time they repost them. This also costs the couch potato nothing. This promotes a hatred between the couch potato posters and the ones using the app.

A few short years ago, the app was ok with a total APK size was a little of 12MB. It still had OBTRUSIVE ADS which took away from the overall experience, but it was workable. Now the APK size is 42MB and you can use your imagination on what's installed. The original concept on checking gas prices is nice, but it's been more and more tainted as time passes with BLOATWARE, SPYWARE, and ADS which is a HUGE turnoff. And what's worse is the older Gasbuddy apps don't work now with network issues and prices don't load (___.__) and you're FORCED to use the latest app.

I have watched on tv your reports of why gas keeps going up.
I now think you are just a spokes person for the oil companies. You say gas has Togo upwhen the Canadian dollar goes down and when oil goes up but you say the same thing when the dollar goes back up and oil goes down.
You should have it both ways but that is an oil company BS store we have heard many times in Canada.
You say gas must go up when the seasons change from winter to summer but when the change from one additive to another it shouldn't just keep going up.
You tell us gas must go up when a refinery on the south east coast shuts for maintenance but they don't supply Canada then you say it has to go up when a plant on the west closes for maintenance. It seems that you are just repeating the old oil company stories over and over as they did in the years past time for you to tell the truth it is greed and goug Canadians plan and simple.

I have been using the Pay with Gas Buddy for several months and up until now WAS satisfied with it. Beware that if your card at the pump doesn't work for what ever the reason it will hold a $30 charge in a pending status each time.
I had never had my card before so I was unaware of this. So when it finally worked the 3rd try, it only allowed for a $15 transaction and the daily limit is $75. I was so upset because I had entered my gas loyality information at the gas pump for this transaction and I had earned a $1 off a gallon for one fill up. Since it was the card issue, the gas station or bank could help me. I called everyone from the pump! I talked to the store cleck, I call their 800 number. I called my bank. The bank couldn't even see any of the transaction. The only one I didn't speak to was PAY WITH GAS BUDDY! They don't answer their phones. The recording refer you to send a message via their site. EVEN for fraudlent charges! You can however leave a voicemail. I left several and sent several messages for the last 4 days.
Finally got a call today. In a few words, they claim nothing can be done. It could happen again and there is no recourse. She had the nerve yto tell me how much I saved with the 7 gallon that I was able to received! I saved because I EARNED those gas points at the store not with GAS BUDDY!
