OMG - why did I not look at the reviews first! I ordered two small Xmas trees on 29/11. They stated can take up to 10 working days. 10 working days arrives - no trees. So I contact them by their limited webchat service to cancel my order as it will now arrive too late. They say they won't give refunds if orders are in picking status. The order has been at picking status for 5 days! (Basically a scam to ensure no customer can cancel orders when frustrated at the long wait for their order).
They have no idea when it will be delivered but still won't give a refund. Absolutely appalling customer service. How is this company still in business - how?
The poinsettias I ordered were half dead on arrival. I have emailed their help desk but not received even an acknowledgment. I sent photos of the plants and asked for replacements. No news yet. I think Trading Standards should be investigating. Jersey Plants Direct was such a lovely company to deal with. This lot don't even take phone calls!
I was sorry to see so many poor reviews on your website, but my experience has been quite the opposite. One of my small bay trees arrived in poor condition, but when I sent photos and reported it, it was replaced immediately. Thank you for an excellent recovery.
This would have been a 0 Star if it was available! Their service isn't just poor, it is almost non-existent. I purchased some plants with 2 separate orders back in April, they arrived in May & June, sadly, some plants were dead. I wrote to them with photo's immediately and respectfully requested replacement plants. Nothing to date has arrived and neither have I received a reimbursement. I have subsequently written to them numerous times, without a response, except for once when they said to 'bear with them during this difficult (COVID) period and that someone would be in contact with me soon'. 6 months after that initial contact, I still haven't had either replacement plants, or reimbursement. What is most irritating is that they state on their website that they are working with significantly reduced staffing (COVID) and to please be patient. But they are still able to advertise a full list of available plants for sale by way of their regular sales emails! Yes, the plants received that weren't dead have flourished, but Garden Express's customer service in the event of a problem is appalling. Buy from them at your peril.
They are the worst online site i have ever been through. I am yet to receive a part of my order which i placed in June 2020. They do not respond to costumer query. Dont waste your money
We bought a pair of Salix trees which arrived weeks overdue but looked good. So, we ordered again. This time one plant was already dying and losing its leaves, while a pair of plants intended as a gift looked utterly dissimilar (like different species). On 15 Sept, I sent photos showing the sad state of the first (just dead twigs) and the lack of conformity in the pair. Despite follow-ups on 25/9,26/10 and (to the MD) on 12/11, still no reply! Avoid this company!
Gardening express advertised a Specimen 5-6 ft cordyline on special deal from £149pp to £49.99 when it arrived in a less than 4 ft box I was very suprised! When I took plant out of box in measured just over 4 ft to the top of the longest point on one of its leaves, after a month of requesting a replacement of a refund I have still not received a solution! So I am left out of pocket and with a plant I don't want! Will not be buying or recommending them again.
Damaged plant and couldnt care less this company, avoid at all costs. They even packed the broken bits in the box!
Ordered 4 bamboo plants and they arrived quickly and healthy, well packaged too. Reading all the negative reviews was worrying, but not my experience

My plants arrived badly damaged and half the size advertised - important when picking plants for a particular spot. When following this up with customer service, they acknowledged and 'escalated' my complaint before just deleting it entirely. Two months plus of chasing, there's no sign that they have any interest in replacing the plants or refunding me.
I've wasted £40 with this company - how much will you waste with them?
Plants when delivered a lot smaller than advertised ( 5cms pots instead of 3 litre). Poor packed with the added bonus? Of included slugs who of course had a field day feast during the transit with result that plants were dead on arrival. Complaints made with photos, - no response apart from waste of time standard letters. Complaints are just dropped from system rather than being resolved. TRADING STANDARDS SHOULD CLOSE THIS COMPANY DOWN
I waited 6 weeks for my plants all have arrived in a horrible state. No reply from them, they have closed the ticket and ignored me. Please do not buy from them it's not coming up to 2 months of hell trying to solve this issue. I'm going to keep on until I get my money back. Just look at the state of them on the pictures.
Having had a very good experience with Gardening Express earlier this year, I ordered half a dozen more plants a week or so ago. I then decided to check out recent reviews and was shocked to see how damning they all were. I decide to write off the money I'd spent. Instead the service has been fine, the plants delivered today as expected, very well wrapped, and in excellent condition. I don't understand what is happening, unless there is a scam company operating too?
This company is a scam company and steals people's money. They took my money over 6 months ago and refuse to give it back, thus breaking the Consumer Rights Act. They have been reported to Trading Standards and I am now opening a court case against them for fraudulent activity. Stay away at all costs, and be warned, this is a scam company!
AVOID... AVOID... AVOID. Sent me dead and dying plants, so as required by them, I raised a ticket of complaint & sent it with the required photo evidence. Ticket was acknowledged & said a team adviser was dealing with it. Ticket was never updated & NO contact or explanation was given before they just closed the ticket. I tried giving them the benefit of doubt in these covid times with 3 more tickets raised, but every one of them was treated in exactly the same way... totally ignored and closed. Please avoid, search online and you will see so many same/similar experiences as my own... Wish I had :(
I received delivery for an order that I had cancelled. Customer service was really bad and no one reached out to me. I had to pay to return the goods, which I have not done yet because the plants would have died.

Stay well away from this bunch of cowboys. I ordered 3 plants on April 2nd, 2 arrived after a couple of weeks with the other to follow. After a number of emails with pathetic replies, I am still waiting and it's September 22nd.

Answer: Suggest complaining to the UK government's Coronavirus Business Complaints process as sadly many people have had the same experience including myself. Their Quality "tickets" process is all part of the scam.
