Ordered on 8th April, £136 worth of plants. At time of ordering, website stated, operating as normal with delivery 3-5 days but due to circumstances / busy times to allow upto 15 working days. 15 working days has come and gone! I have submitted 3 requests for update on order, 1st reply automated, 2nd reply addressed to wrong person and semi automated, no info relating to my order I'm any replies, no reply at all to my 3rd request. Having read reviews, this seems to be the norm. I doubt I will get me order and if I did, I doubt it will be fit for purpose. Now reported to bank in hope to claim for refund. Shocking company, do not order from them.
I placed an order a month ago only some of the plants have arrived they are in a terrible state! I dread to think what state the second part of my delivery is going to be like!
There is no way of contacting this awful company! It's the worst company I have ever dealt with! Very frustrating when you try to contact them and they have closed all customer communication. Absolutely disgusting!

AVOID THIS SCAM SITE! Terrible, weedy, weak and half dead plants. The plants have been "forced" under unnatural growing conditions and will not last a day in a normal garden, that's if they even eventually arrive with you 4 weeks late! Zero customer service, emails ignored, dead plants, missing items. A TOTAL nightmare and a total scam and please avoid. Honestly I'm shocked. The person who owns this company cannot surely think of themselves as garden lover. Much better to call your local garden nursery and make a real order for real plants over the phone. Still waiting for refund 5 weeks later...

I ordered over £200 of plants of these guys on 03/04/2020 still haven't got the delivery. Have tried to cancel them and they don't answer any queries and won't refund the monies stay clear of them.
I ordered to trees for my brothers wedding anniversary. I was delivery could be upto 15 days as they were busy. 17 days later no delivery. Generic replies via email saying they were busy and no contact phone number. I have asked for a refund, as of yet not reply. Leave them alone
Don't buy from this company, they sold me a dead bare rooted tree and now won't respond to the tickets other than to delete them without any contact, the 5 year guarantee is worthless.

This is my second year buying from Gardening Express. I have 2 standard Holly trees, 2 Standard Gardenias, 2 Patio cherries, and various other plants Orchids, Christmas cacti, Pointsetta. I was concerned at first when I read all the negative reviews, all my plants arrived well packaged, and all very healthy looking, I will continue to purchase as such good value for money and very healthy plants. Horrendous from start to finish... however we haven't finished yet as I'm still waiting for a resolution.
Ordered blossom trees which stated 5-6 ft. On measuring from bottom of soil to the top tip it nearly reached 4ft. My skinny twig did not look like any pic!
Ordered jap grass. Lovely pic but again didn't resemble what I received. All 6 were completely dead. I contacted garden express straight away and had shocking customer service' if you could call it that. Another customer service person took over the chat' on messagenger abd stated as I still hadn't received the full order she'd sort it all then but agreed to send me new jap grasses with them clearly being dead. If it allows I'll attach all photos. Anyway the email address I was given didn't work. So on faq's states get a ticket. Did this and still waiting correspondence. I've sent them all the details plus order number and photos. All photos with measurements as they were very needy as to how they wanted the photos taken. Spent ages doing everything they requested to hear nothing again.
Very expensive for what got delivered. Very deceiving from pics on site as to what arrives. My little twigs probably won't get to the size on the photo in at least 10yrs! I made a massive mistake trusting this company. Learn from my very costly mistake and go to a different company or local nursery.
If anyone wants to contact me I'll be putting this review on a few sites as I don't like to see anyone ripped off and I'll place the photos when I've taken one of the blossom tree I was made to believe I was and the twig that turned up.
I was disappointed with the quality of the Michelia Magnolia Fairy White which had obviously had it's main stem snapped off before dispatch, had few leaves for an evergreen on a straggly bare stem with a some sickly yellowish/green leaves on the end, some of which had insect damage. Very poor quality for £14.97 and no one would have bought it at a garden centre. Their response to my complaint? "I can assure you that your Magnolia is very much alive..." so being alive is their plant quality standard! Avoid.

Avoid Gardening Express at all costs, possibly one of the worst retail experiences I've had. Lovely pictures on their website, but be warned what turns up will take 5-10 year to look in anyway similar. They may as well sent you a packet of seeds! They send everything using Yodel and will require a signature. You'll get no warning, simply a text saying be in tomorrow and await your package. It can't be left in the garden (ironic given thats where it'll end up), wont be left with a neighbour, instead you will need to wait in all day. When you contact customer service, they are completely useless. All they say is, "well your plant arrived, it's not dead, there's nothing more we will do". No real apology, no offer of compensation. I'd run a mile from these guys, plenty more reputable companies out there.
If you are thinking of buying from GardeningExpress.co.uk - do yourself a favour and walk away and spend your money somewhere else. My plants/trees arrived damaged and squashed into inappropriate packaging. Sent photos with my complaint but they kept saying that the photos were not good enough to make a decision. AD photo showed 5 different colours I received 1just bare stems two the same, the rest no resemblance to the photo. After nearly 2 weeksof emails and 2 tickets and 2 lots of photos sent was offered a £5 voucher to becashe in a short time for another plant. Have explainedthat I wantwhat I ordered no reply!

Bought 2 Venus fly traps and 2 Pitcher plant fly traps. All 4 plants came well packaged and was as described in description.
This is the 2nd time I've bought from gardening express and both times had no issues, will use again.
I placed an order, just as I did so I noticed that it had defaulted to my old address, I emailed immediately to inform them. Here the saga starts, notification of attempted delivery at old address, contacted gardening express, who can only be contacted by a live chat and you need to be a magician to find it, to be told to contact Hermes there was nothing they could do. Hermes are another company that have no number to ring, I could not find any way to contact them. All I wanted Gardening Express to do was recall my parcel or inform Hermes of my new address, they would do neither. So I have lost nearly 40.00 Hermes are still trying to deliver live plants that they have had since the 7th December and today is 20th December, so cannot imagine any plants will be still alive.
Never have I encountered service like this and I am saying that honestly, neither have I written a bad review. Avoid this company
Please avoid at all costs! You will most likely be very disappointed. I've attached some images to let you decide for yourselves. Even if they want to argue their case it would all be apparent from the evidence. The state of the plants they sent me were shocking to say the least, plus they were packaged with cello-tape over many delicate leaves. To put simply, out of the 20 plants I ordered (order number in case Gardening express question this review can be provided) less than half were acceptable. I wasn't even sure where to begin when I completed their online form to open a complaint ticket. Having read some of the bad reviews (only after making my purchase) I realised it may be a waste of time and energy to try to rectify it all with them. So all I did was bring up just one of the plants in question to gauge how they respond in these situations, and of course they dismissed it, attempting to just reassure me that the plant was healthy and nothing was wrong. Also, please bare in mind that the images they have on their website is not in any way an accurate representation of what you will receive. It is at least a 60% exaggeration of the level of quality and maturity in reality. Yes some customers may have had a better experience for varying reasons, however it is apparent that this company firstly do not respect the plants the way a garden centre should, and secondly have unacceptable "customer service", and make it challenging for you to question their horticultural department.

Answer: Suggest complaining to the UK government's Coronavirus Business Complaints process as sadly many people have had the same experience including myself. Their Quality "tickets" process is all part of the scam.
