Overall, I like the service. However, I don't like that you have to go in to edit your order every week. I wish you could choose every week instead of the same order every week. Also, I wish Freshly changed up their menu choices more frequently. My family is getting tired of the same meals.
Okay so I will start by saying that I'm a newbie to subscription food services. My friends have tried Blue Apron and really liked it but for me I am a busy single mom and although I cook quite a bit I wanted something that was a no brainer in terms of convenience, but that didn't skimp on quality.
I am a foodie. I've been to ALOT of restaurants all over the country and internationally. I will start by saying that I saw some people on here compare this to Frozen meals at the store. Um, no hardly. Let's be real here. Frozen meals (about 99% of them) are totally processed. Look at the ingredients... almost all of them, even the healthier ones have Modified Corn Starch, preservatives and MSG not to mention other things you cannot pronounce. Freshly has non of that. The food is made very well with great ingredients and is not processed. That is a huge plus for those that are not wanting processed ingredients and food. Secondly, the portions are quite large. The Seafood Rissotto is actually enough for two people if you have an appetizer or salad. I had the meatloaf for dinner and it was amazing... really fantastic. I had a chicken dish for lunch that left me fully satisfied to the point where I didn't need a snack at all and was full until dinner.
Thirdly what I like is that I can easily see the calories in my meals. Mind you this is not low calorie but it's not crazy. Most of the entrees are between 460-530 calories for very good tasting, fresh and chef prepared dishes that are very hearty and satisfying. I can easily stay within my 1800-2000 calorie day and feel like I am not on a "diet". I would like to see more seafood options but so far I am very please with the service.
The website is very clear and easy to swap out my meals. You must understand that this is a weekly service and an interactive one. If you sign up you WILL be billed every week and food will be delivered every week as scheduled. Its very easy to skip a week if you go out of town and you can easily customize your meals from week to week.
I am going to give my mom some meals to try because this is a great service I think for elderly who don't want to cook and want a good hearty and healthy meals.

Every selection has been pleasing to our pallet. Wide selections and delivered on schedule. Website is better all the time. Customer service is most considerate and compassionate with glitches.

My experience has been great. I do have an idea though. Would it be possible to customize the dishes slightly. For instance, If I got the meatloaf but really wanted green beans with it, could I switch out the potatoes that come with it for the green beans served in the Pecan Pork dish? I'm not asking for a new side that you don't already have, but one of the sides in another meal just so I can really satisfy cravings and change the meal up more from week to week.

At this time we are not able to switch out the side dishes (as our kitchen prepares so many meals each week, and they do not have the capability to make changes,) they are working towards that in the future! Right now we have a couple of dishes where the sides can be swapped, for example: Chicken Parm (with broccoli or penne,) and Shrimp Fajitas, (brown rice, or Mexican street corn). We're hoping to expand this even more in the future, and offer plenty of options for customizing your meal plan!
I have been very happy with Freshly. The food is very convenient and delicious. The reasons for 4 stars instead of 5:
1) I don't like the black plastic trays as our city does not recycle black plastic. I understand this might be the best choice considering the way they are shipped.
2) I wish Freshly could pick up the packaging material and reuse them. I feel guilty everytime I get a box.
3) I wish there are more varied dishes from week to week.

I love my freshly! I'm gone all day and the last thing I want to do when I get home is figure out a healthy meal for 1. Freshly takes care of that for me.

The taste is so homemade and different then I've ever had. Being a business owner with 3 kids has been a challenge to cook healthy - this is SO helpful as they eat them all! We all feel better and have more energy then all the take out and restaurants. The savings in 3 weeks has been amazing!

Terrible food and terrible customer service. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TRY! THEY REFUSE TO CANCEL ORDERS!

We don't mean to be difficult by sticking to our deadlines regarding canceling orders, we simply need to maintain the most efficient production process that we can, since we prepare and ship tens of thousands of meals each week and need advance notice due to putting in orders for vendors for the upcoming week as well as staffing for the upcoming week, based on the orders in the system.
Don't sign up for this. They charge you weekly. They won't cancel your order, you have to actually cancel your Credit card. Also, the sodium is enough to kill a horse.
Yes, all of our plans are set up as weekly recurring orders, per the ordering process, checkout, Terms, and initial confirmation email. But customers can skip weeks as needed or even pause/cancel.
We simply require that these actions are taken by the weekly deadline which is outlined in the welcome email, weekly reminder emails, and on Meal Planner pages.
We don't mean to be difficult by sticking to our deadlines, we simply need to maintain the most efficient production process that we can, since we prepare and ship tens of thousands of meals each week.
Since using freshly, I never have to think about dinner after a long day or during a hectic workday. I know the meals are super tasty and the ingredients are quality. I love this service!

I buy freshly meals for my husband to take each day for his lunch at work... he raves about the great flavor and withy long hours they are even a quick and easy dinner option for him when I don't get home early enough to cook. Looking at increasing the number I order to help "cover me" from cooking! Would love more option or switchin options every few weeks!

Most of the food is excellent. Reliable shipment every week, easy to heat up the food. Almost always better than frozen food, if not quite to the quality of "homemade." I've only had a small handful of disappointments (namely the holiday turkey and the breakfast bowl). I would love to see more turnover in the menu. Only one new item every week.
I'm on the "6 meals per week" plan, and I suspect I'll eventually get tired of these entrees.

Freshly has made it easy, convenient, and affordable to eat right. I work almost 12 hours a day and really don't have the energy to meal prep. Not to mention my job puts me on the road almost all day. I've used freshly to help with my daily caloric limitations and the results are definitely noticeable. I feel better after meals, cut coffee, and experience much less heartburn, which was a big problem for me.

Freshly has provided some much needed relief in my very busy life. I work some robust hours both as a Doctoral candidate and full-time corporate executive. The portions provided are perfect, food is tasteful, price is very reasonable and the delivery is reliable. I'm very satisfied with Freshly and plan to use them for a very long time to come.

I was surprised to see such negative reviews. I find the food very good and love that the meals are ready in 3 minutes, are gluten and dairy free.
The service I have received has been terrific from Freshly including a phone call and email and refund of my entire order when some dairy was accidentally added to potatoes for one entree. Makes me wonder if these are real reviews?
I work two jobs as well as train for athletic events. I absolutely HATE having to spend my rare day off cooking and meal prepping for an entire week. Using Freshly helps save my time for myself, which is worth the cost of buying prepared food. Even the other subscriptions that send nothing but ingredients waste precious time, as I still need to cook them. With Freshly, I choose my meals and then transfer them to my meal prep containers when they arrive. Time saved is valuable to me, and getting six meals for $59 is not a bad cost either.

Good food. Easy website to navigate. Wish I could get more meals per week. Around 20-25 would be nice. I use this so I don't have to cook dinner for three. It would be nice to get extra for lunches as well. I have an hour commute to work and a child with after school activities, this has really simplified my life.

I've tried a couple of meal delivery services and Freshly is thd the most convenient for me yet. I am very happy with the deliveries. The meals have been really good even out of the microwave. I was very skeptical of that starting out. Happy to be proven wrong.

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!

Answer: Our meals are prepared and shipped out from our kitchen in Phoenix.:-) For Arizona deliveries we use FedEx.

Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. Here are the steps to follow while signing up: 1 - Add your email address and zip code in the sign-up box on our homepage. ( www.Freshly.com) 2 - Pick your meal plan. Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! The specific day of the week will be your weekly delivery day unless changed. 4 - Select your delicious meals from our 30+ selections. 5 - Add your contact info, payment details, and delivery address.

You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)

We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. While carrier delays are out of the norm, weather-related issues, road closures, driver confusion, etc. can wreak havoc. We have a dedicated delivery team that works directly with our carriers to ensure successful deliveries, and we're always sure to compensate when delays arise. We certainly hope this helps! Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
