I used Freshly over a year ago and liked it. I pause my deliveries until now. I got my first delivery on time today. I ate the baked penne marinara. Delicious! I am restraining myself from eating another meal. They are good! But I need to lose weight. The best thing is their meals are gluten free! I have Celiac disease so I have to avoid gluten. These meals will help me avoid fast food on my way home from a long day at work when I don't feel like cooking for me and my daughter. These meals are so good and healthy. I dont know why people complain about the taste. At first I thought $8.90 a meal was high for 12 meals a week. It really isn't. Yesterday when I got fast food it was $17 just for two of us! Also, the food wasn't good and they got our order wrong. So glad to be eating Freshly again. Thank you!
The food is fresh, tasty and balanced. There is a great selection, with breakfast choices included. I wish there was a way to return or recycle the packaging.

I have a very hectic work schedule and didn't always eat healthy. Freshly has given me the opportunity to eat healthier and stay within my grocery budget. No wasted food, no buying more than I need just to make a dish one time. The food is really good and the portions are perfect. The ordering process is very easy and I can skip weeks if needed with no problem.

I have been using Freshly for over a month now and I don't know how I lived without it! My husband and I stay very busy during the week and were spending a terrible amount of money on unhealthy fast food and frozen meals. Freshly saves us money and allows us to keep an extremely healthy diet. I love their whole foods philosophy. I recommend plating the meals (as they suggest on the package). It will help anyone with doubts to get past the packaging and realize that this is not your average prepared meal. The portion sizes are just enough to get us full, so we don't have wasted food (or overeat). The food tastes great! I still don't know how they make the chicken breast so juicy! They introduce a new meal every week, so we always get to try something new! I have already recommended this to my friends and will continue to sing Freshly's praises to everyone I know. I plan on being a very LONG TERM customer. Thank you Freshly!

I like Freshly because it makes my life easier. When I get home from work, I don't have to think about what I'm going to make for dinner - just determine which meal I'm going to heat up. It helps me keep track of calories and I'm losing weight! My only concern is the amount of sodium. Any chance you can lower that?
Thank you for the positive feedback, Monica! I'm very happy to hear you have been enjoying the meals, and we have made it easy for you to keep track of your health goals! We do add a bit of sea salt to the meals, but otherwise, the sodium is from what is naturally occurring in the ingredients. It's largely from seasonings and marinades that we use.
We just lowered the overall sodium content (with a goal of 600mg per meal, on average), and plan to start introducing some specifically low-sodium meals in the future!

It's been fantastic! Last week I had friends share meals with me. My friends husband found the pork chop meal to be very good. His wife (my friend) told me he usually comments that something is "ok" -the highest compliment to her cooking. She was a little miffed he found the meal I provided him rated "this is very good". She, on the other hand "loved" the chicken vegetable bowl...
It would be great if you allowed your customers to send "gift" meals to friends and family so they can experience your meals without the pressure of a subscription. I don't mind paying for their meals if I can surprise them or help them out etc. I find having multiple subscription services a deterrent. There has to be a better way. Your meals are delicious, generous in portion size ( I need a lot of protein and your meat portions are just right for me) and nutritious/organic with a variety of choices. What's not to love?

We enjoy the time saving that Freshly meals give us. We enjoy trying new things on the menu each week and so far, all of the meals have been pretty tasty!

So far I love the meals! I'm 60 years old, I'm tired of shopping, cooking, and cleaning up all the pots and pans and dishes! This is so easy! I'm full, so I'm not looking for snacks. I bet I lose weight!

I am eating the third of six meals. I would rather eat a store bought frozen meal, it would have more flavor. The meat portions are large, but the sauces are skimpy to practically non-existent. The peach balsamic pork had no peach flavor and no sauce, the broccolini was tough stems and inedible; the wahoo fish with chutney did have pieces of fruit but no liquid and it's the first time I've ever needed a knife for fish (very dry fish), the coconut rice was veyr wet and unappetizing; Now I'm eating BBQ pork with sweet potato hash and there was a little sauce on the pork and the hash is an odd flavored mush.

I have enjoyed the food and delivery service. I do like that you can go in and change upcoming orders and not just the next one. More options for breakfast would be good.

Love the food - it's really delicious and convenient. Could use a bit more variety. Have been using it for several weeks now and getting a bit bored with the selection. That said, it's really tasty, fresh and great quality. I've used several delivery services and this is definitely the best tasting food. The packaging does feel a bit excessive, I always feel badly throwing that much material away each week. That said, it does keep my food cold and fresh! Using the 3rd party delivery service (like FedEx) takes a bit of control out of the delivery. For example, my delivery today was either left outside and stolen or mis-delivered despite me being home the whole day. If there was a local same day delivery or pick up option (to cut back on packaging) and/or required signature for delivery (to avoid lost packages), that would be awesome! Assuming the delivery stuff does not continue to be an issue, I'll definitely continue using the service.

3/13 - Wanted to update my original review to note that I contacted Freshly about my missing package and they responded to my message same day and offered a refund. They also offered to provide extra notes to FedEx on a better way to deliver to my location. I am very satisfied with their quick response and resolution. Great customer service!

My son's Freshly box was stolen yesterday. It was left outside at his apartment and was stolen. I don't think it is a good idea to print Freshly on the box. A buffet waiting to be taken.

LOVED the idea and the convenience, but the flavor was lacking for this price point in my mind. Most meals I could get a better taste from a frozen selection at grocery store at less than half the prioce.

Have enjoyed it but find customer service to be lacking. Also think this would be a great deal easier if there were an app to change weekly meals.

I have tried other home delivery meals in the past. Freshly has the best food and hey... 5 minutes or so and it's time to eat! No prep, no pots and pans, no heating up the kitchen in the summer months.

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!

However, you can select to skip weeks, or cancel your subscription at anytime! Answer: Our meals are prepared and shipped out from our kitchen in Phoenix.:-) For Arizona deliveries we use FedEx.
Answer: The delivery window they give us is between 9am and 9pm. We package the meals to be safe for 2 days transit time, plus safe to sit outside for up to 12 hours upon delivery.:-)
Answer: Hi Nancy! We do not cook meals based on other programs' guidelines at this time. We're not overly concerned with calorie counts, but more concerned with where calories come from. Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. First and foremost, I'd like to inform you that we're a weekly subscription service, which means you'll receive meals weekly, and get charged weekly as well. Here are the steps to follow while signing up: 1 - Add your email address and zip code in the sign-up box on our homepage. ( www.Freshly.com) 2 - Pick your meal plan. Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! The specific day of the week will be your weekly delivery day unless changed. 4 - Select your delicious meals from our 30+ selections. 5 - Add your contact info, payment details, and delivery address.

You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)

We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. While carrier delays are out of the norm, weather-related issues, road closures, driver confusion, etc. can wreak havoc. We have a dedicated delivery team that works directly with our carriers to ensure successful deliveries, and we're always sure to compensate when delays arise. We certainly hope this helps! Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
