Freshly was ordered with a hope to make our life simpler as I am going through health difficulties and currently unable to cook. Hubby and I decided to try several food delivery companies and then make a decision on who to go with for the next few months. We received our first order of 6 meals. My son raved about the seafood risotto, and overall both of "my boys" loved the protein, they said it was tender and were surprised by the portion size in a positive way. About the 4th day the freshness could be tasted hubby said " Freshly does not taste as fresh" So he was clearly disappointed he ended up cooking asparagus on the side of his steack and pork chop. The day after our order was received I logged on and suspended our sub while we tried another deliver service in our area. I clicked though the process and finally got to the end " your sub has been canceled" appeared. Imagine my surprise when we receive a new order today. I wrote and canceled again. I went through the process on the website "again" I read the same messages including the final " your sub has been cancelled. We had not decided who to go with, but now something that was to make our life easier has become a headache. In the future I would send a written e-mail cancellation and not trust the website if I tried it again. Hopefully Freshly will make this right and look into their website issues.
I'm so very sorry to hear about this confusion! All of our plans are set up as weekly recurring orders, per the site and the Terms & Conditions. It's a no-obligation subscription, though, so you can cancel anytime as needed, or skip weeks if necessary. As long as the subscription is cancelled prior to the weekly deadline there wouldn't be any further charges or orders. We would also send a confirmation email directly after the cancellation!
Since we cook the meals and ship them without using chemical/artificial preservatives, they do have a shorter refrigerated shelf life than say, commercial frozen dinners, etc. Just like if you were to cook food at home and store in your refrigerator! Typically the "use by" date on the meals is about 4-5 days from the ship date. You can certainly freeze them to make them last far longer, though!
The good news is, I do see that one of our Supervisors was able to offer compensation and resolve this issue!
I am a female business owner, world traveler and a general busy body with not one domestic bone in me. Freshly gives me a chance to eat quick and healthy without taking time out of my hectic life to shop, cook or clean. It's perfect for my bachelorette lifestyle.

We love u Freshly. You have changed our lifes. Not only that we are losing weight but we have time fot other aspects of life. Your portions are just right and the taste is superb. There is one food option that doesn't work for us, The steaks. They taste diferent, can't pin point what it is. I don't know if its the microwave but we don't really care for them so we removed them from our list. But last night, the two steaks we had left, we put them on the grill rather then the MW, and it worked, we may add the steaks back some time soon. Now... the Shrimp Fajitas OMG, with that amazing Mexican Sweet Corn! Look, I am Mexican and I must admit, these fajitas are THE BEST WE'VE EVER HAD! Please, give our complements to the Cheff. My Mom's "SF" are now right below yours! Other then that, We are so happy and content because on top of all the good points, we did bring our grocery budget down and we are saving money with you Freshly! Thank you so much.

I have been getting Freshly for a few weeks now and so far I'm loving just about everything. Somethings I prefer some meals over others but that's my taste not the product. The portions are perfect and if you can't finish all of it save the leftovers for a lunch or dinner. I would like to see new dishes and am disappointed when one of my favorites is not available. But I get it. All in all the is a wonderful thing and I'm so glad I signed up. And having the option to skip weeks works well for me. And thank you for making the navigation of the site easy. The only negative comment would be I wish the meals could be delivered in one day, not two. Thank you for making my life easier.

Really enjoying my Freshly experience so far. The package was delivered right to my door, with instructions for recycling the packaging.
I've only had one meal so far (the balsamic glazed pork chops) but the portion is much larger than I was expecting. Definitely filling for lunch - looking forward to trying the other meals I received.
So easy to pop in the microwave, tastes so much fresher and better than anything other meal I've had heated from a microwave. It's great that this food isn't frozen - it definitely shows.

I was initially skeptical about but after my first week, I was convinced! My meals arrive on my designated day every week and the site is so easy to navigate and allows me to change my meals for the next week or even skip a week. I also don't worry about having to remember because Freshly is great about letting me know my package is coming and to review my meals for the week. The food overall is very good, fresh and very convenient. It has made planning for dinner and lunch so much easier (no more frozen lunches!). I wish I discovered Freshly sooner and I've recommended it to many of my friends and colleagues.

I am definitely pleased with the taste of most everything I tried. The only thing I was pretty disappointed with was the quality of the meat. The last meal I had with the peppercorn steak was too tough to eat. All of my meals are centered around the protein/meat and I just wasn't loving it. Great concept though, and very convenient!

The meals are delicious and we supplement with a side salad and more vegis but are finding the protein portion is a tad too small for us.

Freshly is both convenient and offers tasty choices. You won't get bored with the selections because they introduce new menu items every few weeks. Add a homemade salad to the Freshly meal and you've got yourself a restaurant quality-tasting meal. Some of our favorites are the "spaghetti" and meatballs made with spaghetti squash. It's to die for. Chicken Risotto with asparagus, too. My hubby describes it as a crowd pleaser. If I could change just one thing it would be to reduce the fat in each meal as they are a bit rich for my taste.

I started ordering Freshly about a month ago because I needed healthy, tasty meals for my husband. As a working professional I have little time to prepare weeknight meals and come up with lunches. Freshly meals are portioned perfectly and taste great.
The only thing I would change would be to have the option of not having cheese on in some of the meals

Terrible customer service. Think hundred times before subscribing
I signed up for the 12 meal/ week, i get my deliveries on Wednesday.
I was informed on Friday that have to go on a business trip, while I was still planning my trip. I got a notification from my credit card that I was charged for the next delivery which will happen on coming Wednesday, it was still Friday ( 6 days before the delivery date).
I grabbed my cell phone right away and sent an email explaining, that I have to leave town could you please cancel this delivery?
I got a page long reply about their rules, and the freshness of their ingredients... and no sorry we can do nothing about this on Friday for next Wednesday delivery, it has been locked in our system!
So they were ok taking my money and not deliver the food!
So I learnt few things:
1. The ingredients of my freshly made unfrozen meals that I will eat next week are bought 7 days a head of time!
2. A service that claims to provide fresh food for busy professionals, are neither fresh nor professional.
I deeply regret giving them my credit card information to them
Yes, all of our plans are set up as weekly recurring orders, per the ordering process, checkout, Terms, and initial confirmation email. But customers can skip weeks as needed or even cancel.
We simply require that these actions are taken by the weekly deadline which is outlined in the welcome email, weekly reminder emails, and on Meal Planner pages. I'm afraid that while I do see that you reached out to us late Friday evening to cancel the order, your deadline was prior to 5pm PST, and the meals would have already been locked into our schedule at that time. That is why we were unable to cancel the delivery, and we suggested having a friend, family member, or neighbor pick up your package and freeze the meals for when you return!
Our meals are perishable and require a strict production schedule that if deviated from would damage the integrity of the meals and inhibit the efficiency of the production process. We forecast our raw material purchases and procure ingredients at the peak of ripeness to meet very specific demands that fluctuate from week to week. This is why it is so critical to give ample time for changes or cancellations.
We don't mean to be difficult by sticking to our deadlines, we simply need to maintain the most efficient production process that we can, since we prepare and ship tens of thousands of meals each week.
Chicken, rice, and potatoes are awesome. Veggies can be stringy and dry. My favorite sides are mixed veggies in potato squash puréed or hashes. The flavorful spicier dishes are also my favorite. Plain veggie sides like broccoli and asparagus can be dry and stringy. I'd love to be able to interchange meats/sides.

So far I have to say freshly meals are very good, especially the chicken based meals.
The steak was quite underwhelming though, it was medium-well, and a bit dry and had a funny flavor, like stale fat. Also, not enough peppercorn sauce for the steak. If they are going to serve beef, they need to work on it - I'd suggest medium rare, and more sauce.
Sides are nearly always excellent, my only complaint is I'd like to see additional sides in some cases. For instance, the steak had both a vegetable and a potato side which is good. But a lot of the dishes have only a single side.
Portions: too small for me. I wish they had an option for a "1.5x" size. Alternately, an option to add "bonus sides". For instance, it's be cool if they had a 6 meal plan that also had 6 additional sides that were chosen separately.
Cost: a little high in that the meals are $10 each for about 500 calories. In comparison you can get 4 Marie Callender's frozen dinners for that. Of course the Freshly dinners are superior to frozen in so many ways, and the cost does include shipping in their special ice pack boxes. Perhaps a better comparison is these meals would probably cost $14 to $16 if served at a restaurant.
Summary: restaurant quality food delivered fresh to your door weekly. I find the portions a little small for the price as I need to eat 900 calories a meal. Nevertheless, it's so convenient and a nice change from frozen, or fast food, or take out.

I appreciate the variety of selections each week and look forward to new choices. Arrives on time and put right in the fridge. No problems with staying fresh for the week. On occasion one or two may get put in the freezer depending on my schedule for the week. You get an A+.

Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
