Healthy, tasty, and easy! You feel refreshed by a good sized meal, and dont have to do anything to prep. God sent. Wish we could have known about Freshly much sooner.
I changed to Freshly from another healthy delivery company, the food is better portioned, great taste, and best of all doesn't kill my wallet! The only change I would like to see are more paleo recipes.

I love the food but I would like to suggest a few changes. Twice my food has come soaked because the bags used to keep the food cold in transport were punctured. Something more durable would help. Second, Freshly needs an app so that I can select my food more easily on a weekly basis.
Signed up for the trial because it seemed like a cool concept but the meals were small and bland. The meats especially. My chicken in the chicken risotto, roasted turkey (very. Very dry), pork tenderloins, and steak peppercorn all tasted almost like nothing. The only distinguishing factor between them were the textures of the meat. Also beware the risotto was very mushy and greasy, it was almost like porridge despite following their heating instructions.
Now onto their deceptive billing technique. Seems like customer satisfaction and food quality isn't their concern, but sales are. I had my food delivered on Saturday and on Monday they had already charged me for the upcoming Saturday before I was aware I even selected anything. How did they make the decision for me? They simply duplicated my first order full of the things I didn't enjoy.
I've contacted customer support to try and resolve this but despite informing them I was not happy with the food, they've told me they can not return my money as my card has been charged and the ingredients have been sourced. However, I can change my order. (That's strange. If the ingredients have been sourced how can I change my order? If I can change my order, shouldn't I also be able to cancel?)
After skimming through the menu and realizing not much else appealed to me outside of my first trial order, I told the representative to just randomize my order with the things I have not tried because all this crap is the same to me.
Review will be updated once I receive my next order of bland meals. My subscription has already been canceled so hopefully this is the last wave I'll have to endure.
If you must try them out CHECK YOUR SUBSCRIPTION. Don't get stuck with two waves of junk like I did. But if you can, just avoid them overall.

All of our plans are set up as weekly recurring orders, per the ordering process, checkout, Terms, and initial confirmation email. But customers can skip weeks as needed or even cancel. We don't mean to be difficult by sticking to our deadlines, we simply need to maintain the most efficient production process that we can, since we prepare and ship over 100,000 meals each week!

For the most part it's been good. I wish the cool packs' gel was also bio-degradable. I doubt CA would allow a flushable option, but something besides just throwing it away would be helpful. Also, more non-chicken options would be great! As would some more meatless options. I love the convenience and speed since I am not a cook.

Very good quality, on-time delivery, I only wish we could get our orders earlier in the week; that, and maybe to have prices come down a bit or frequent purchasing discounts.

I've been receiving Freshly meals for about a month now. To my surprise, it has actually decreased my monthly grocery bill. I'm loving the Freshly meals and buying less food to fill in for the remaining days. Less is going to waste. I'm loving the convenience of having a delicious meal ready in 5 minutes on nights I get home late from work.
My only issue is that it takes 2 days to ship to my rural location. The gel ice packs and insulation do a tremendous job, but a few times on hot days, when the delivery came around 3pm on day 2, the meals weren't as cold as they probably should have been. Overall I highly recommend Freshly and am so glad it's an option for me!

I'm disabled. I have a disability where I pass out if I'm standing for longer than a few minutes. The most practical way this is a problem is cooking and driving (not allowed to drive anymore). So unfortunately meal planning or food services are a must. Previously I've tried macroplate and while it was amazing it was too expensive and too much food for someone my size. A friend recommended freshly and I went for it without reading up.
Bad idea.
Compared to other delivery programs (that I'm now realizing are actually fresh while freshly isn't) you can choose which day the box of a week of food will be delivered as opposed to the time and day being pretty much only practical for someone in a house or ungated/unprotected apartment. That seemed great! No waking up at 5am to wonder when in the next 2h I have to let the delivery guy in.
The food is delivered in TV dinner plastic packages. I have so much Tupperware from macroplate that I'm ok with this. Until I eat the food though... it tastes like an expired TV dinner. Like I can get better quality at vons freezer aisle bad. The first one I had was meat, potatoes, and veggies. The veggies were clearly frozen canned veggies. They weren't terrible but seriously? The potatoes were just bland but again whatever, it's not like I can stand up and cook anymore myself. The meat though made me throw up pretty quickly. That's not figurative, that's literal. One bite and I thought oh gross I guess this is why it's so much cheaper than everyone else! A few minutes go by and I'm rushing to the bathroom to throw everything up :( it tasted expired.

I hate to cook, and this was a real problem because I'd order in, and would spend a small fortune on take-out and delivery every month. When I read about Freshly, I was really jazzed to try it.
Well, I've tried it now for about three weeks, and no think you. All the meat tastes the same, with the exception of the chicken in the Chicken and Risotto. But let me gave you an inside tipthe risotto is beyond horrible. It made me sick. It glops. It's GREASY. RUN.
If you want to take the chicken and slice it up for sandwiches, you'd be good.
I can't eat it for another day. I've moved on to another company that's a bit more a week, but the meals are fantastic. Do yourself a favor and order from someone else.

I really liked freshly meals. I think the food is tasty and has a good variety. I don't know what else people are eating this easy that tastes better. It's sooooo much better than frozen meals. I also don't know how people complain so much about the subscription part, it's very clear and sends emails before charging your card or delivering.
What is a nightmare is trying to stick to a diet with the service, they changed the nutrition facts of a meal without telling me and changed ingredients to what seemed like cheaper, smaller, not as good options without telling me. Also, some of the meals that are delivered don't have the nutrition facts that I ordered. The labels were dramatically different and got worse IMO. Also, customer service wasn't very helpful and it took forever to get answers and figure out what happened.
I think meal delivery is the future and one day almost everyone will eat like this. The market size is gigantic. It's logistically difficult to perfect as shown by freshly, but one day someone will (like amazon who does these things well).

I have tried a few different meal subscriptions, both prepared and unprepared. This is by far the BEST one I have tried yet. The food selections are great - taking into consideration I eat limited seafood and no red meat. The portions are perfect as I work out 5-6 times a week and typically need more healthy calories at the end of the day. Seasoning is perfect, and I have not had a meal that I don't like... of course I have my favorites. I also appreciate that I can change my meals weekly, rather than having a random selection made by another determine my meals.

I switched over to Freshly after trying one of the meal prep options. The reason why I switched was because I spending more time cooking (which I love to do) than enjoying the meal. And on the other hand, I rarely got to make the meals because of my schedule which means I was still wasting money. On average it would take me 45 mins to cook the meal and less that 10 mins to eat and that's if I had time to make the meal at all. With Freshly I'm able to enjoy the meal without all the prep work and it's ready in under 5 mins! Freshly meets my meal requirements and taste great! In most cases I have leftovers for lunch the next day. I haven't had to throw away or freeze any of the meals because I don't have time to make them... and to me that's the convenience and money smart way for me.

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!

Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)

We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
