I've tried several other companies and even though you would have the recipes and ingredients on hand, it would still take over an hour to cook and clean for each meal. Freshly is truely a time saver- no grocery shopping, cooking, or cleaning. The meals are tasty and fresh. The portion control is great and most are low calorie. These meals are perfect for busy weeknights!
Good food. Quality ingredients. The reasons for taking away 2 stars is:
1. The majority of the portion sizes are just too small. I know this is a positive for some people but dinners less than 500 or sometimes less than 400 calories are just not enough.
2. The shipping service used is inconsistent at best. At worst you won't get your delivery as scheduled. Freshly makes up for it but we count in it for our meal so it's inconvenient to find other plans.

As a older, partially disabled person, Freshly.is giving me the opportunity to eat healthy and tasty food. The portions are perfect. And I am even losing weight because I am eating smarter. That's a nice plus. The staff is always nice and helpful. So far I am very pleased with this service.
Food is great. I wish we could send back the packaging. Is there a way to use a container that gets sent back and reused?

While we don't have a way to have the packaging returned to us at this time (since we use third party carriers,) we are always looking for new ways to lessen our environmental impact, so this may become an option in the future!
Since we signed up, we have had 3 missed deliveries. To be fair, it is the holiday delivery time and they have always made it right for us. But it does make it hard to meal plan when a weeks worth is missed. I hope they are working on expanding the menu choices from week to week as more variety would be nice. The flavor palette is a little mature for my 15 year old. The convenience is great and the portions are good- no leftovers!

Wanted actual meals which living alone was not happening. Not big on grocery shopping either. This gives me tasty satisfying meals delivered when I want as many as I want.
I love this meal delivery. I don't know how I got by without it. Must have spent a lot more time in the kitchen. Ugh! The meals are filling and all are good. Some are super good and have become my favorites. It is nice to be able to pick what you want and not have to have chicken on Tuesday when you would rather have beef. I have not tried all the meals but I try a new one or two every week and have never been disappointed.
The ordering process is easy and I am enjoying the meals! They are always delivered cold and ready for my refrigerator. I also like how each one is labeled.
I enjoy the food most of the time, but I'm staring to get burned out on some of the meals. I just added new ones this week. Its better than fast food or pizza and I'm losing some weight so that's good. The ONLY thing I don't like is the shipping. Everything is packed nicely and I receive the box on time, but It seems like such a waste. I wish I could find a place that I can pick up locally, but I didn't like the food or prices from those places as much as freshly.
Oh, one small thing, I wish the plastic came off of the food tray better. Its really difficult to pull off.

Great healthy food, super convenient and the best part its very delicious and tasty! Eating healthy doesnt mean you have to sacrifice taste! These meals do just that!
Food is excellent. Have liked everything we have tried. Service is friendly. Have frozen packages when we haven't gotten to them and reheat from frozen just as well
I love the meals. I have lost weight on them mainly because of the portions and also I am not hungry for a long time after I eat. They have been delicious except for the shrimp dishes. They are rather bland. Im from the south. Used to more spices on my shrimp dishes. I just wish you would change the meals up more often. I order every week and basically get the same things.
Would be nice if they could reduce the sodium content a bit. And the cod cakes are much too spicy for my tastes. But most of the other meals are quite good and oh-so convenient.

Delivery is timely and easy to recycle.
I have disabilities that keep me from putting food together for my husband and myself. Freshly works great as all I have to do is put the meals in the microwave. I do feel that there arent enough variaty, after a few weeks some of the meals are good, but they get boring after a while. There are too many chicken recipes. But several menus are very very good. Most of all, there needs to be more choices.
I love this service. The food is tasty, and the portions are a great size (normally). A few of the meals are a tad small, but most are great. My husband even eats them and is almost always full. Theyre completely affordable, which is usually a drawback
I have thoroughly enjoyed my meals with freshly. I had one bad meal, and Freshly was quick to respond and also gave me a credit.
The calories are a little high and I wish there were more vegetables in each portion. Other than that I like the convenience of it.

The food is amazing. The chicken dishes have all had amazing quality white meat chicken breasts and as a picky chicken eater I am very impressed. A little on the pricey side, but after all is said and done I probably save money and time by not eating out.

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!
Answer: Hi Steven, Thank you for your interest in Freshly! We are a weekly subscription service, so you would be charged for, and delivered meals on a weekly basis. However, you can select to skip weeks, or cancel your subscription at anytime! These changes would just need to be made prior to your weekly deadline, which is outlined in your Welcome Email, Reminder Emails, and in your Meal Planner. I hope this helps!
Answer: Our meals are prepared and shipped out from our kitchen in Phoenix.:-) For Arizona deliveries we use FedEx.
Answer: The delivery window they give us is between 9am and 9pm. We package the meals to be safe for 2 days transit time, plus safe to sit outside for up to 12 hours upon delivery.:-)
Answer: Hi Nancy! We do not cook meals based on other programs' guidelines at this time. We're not overly concerned with calorie counts, but more concerned with where calories come from. Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. First and foremost, I'd like to inform you that we're a weekly subscription service, which means you'll receive meals weekly, and get charged weekly as well. Here are the steps to follow while signing up: 1 - Add your email address and zip code in the sign-up box on our homepage. ( www.Freshly.com) 2 - Pick your meal plan. Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! The specific day of the week will be your weekly delivery day unless changed. 4 - Select your delicious meals from our 30+ selections. 5 - Add your contact info, payment details, and delivery address.

You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)

We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. While carrier delays are out of the norm, weather-related issues, road closures, driver confusion, etc. can wreak havoc. We have a dedicated delivery team that works directly with our carriers to ensure successful deliveries, and we're always sure to compensate when delays arise. We certainly hope this helps! Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
