I have enjoyed receiving food from Freshly. Generally speaking, we like the majority of the items we have ordered. Plus, it seems pretty healthy! It is nice to not have to order food in or cook a few nights a week. I would definitely recommend this service.
I received my freshly and in the middle of the package was a meal that was so ripped to shreds it looked like wild animals had gotten to it. I immediately contacted freshly customer service and spoke with Omid. Omid was very professional, quick, and friendly. In the end I got a refund for the meal. This company has the best customer service every time I have to reach out. Consistently amazing!
My very first order did not show up. I cancelled immediately. Do not use them. I am planning to refuse the order of rotten food when it does finally show up. I should not be expected to dispose of it. Let them handle it.
Website is easy to navigate. The home delivery and preparation (microwave) is as convenient as it gets. The food and the variety is good. This *REALLY* fits into my lifestyle as I'm single, busy, and not interested in learning or taking the time to prepare recipes.
Overall, I like the food when it arrives. It is typically tasty though there are some dishes I wouldnt get again. It is convenient for those of us with a busy lifestyle. It is expensive for what you get however.
I have tried 2 other meal kit brands, and Freshly is the tastiest. It is by far the easiest to prepare. You just microwave the meal and it is all done. The price is lower than some of the others, too.
I am pleased beyond my expectations with the food provided by Freshly. I anticipated something akin to frozen meals, but this food exceeds that by a mile. I am 71, live alone, am capable of cooking for myself, but I. No longer enjoy the shopping and preparing. My sense of taste is decreasing, so I was finding myself eating unhealthy food that was easy to fix... or eating fast food.
I love this service for many reasons:
The food tastes great. The beef and chicken are moist and tender (I didn't expect that). The portions are just right for me. I have lost a bit of weight (not a specific goal) because I am eating healthy food and avoiding snacking. I no longer have to wonder what to have for dinner. I no longer have to plan and shop for food for each day. The cost is more than I was spending, but the ease and quality are worth it. As long as the quality remains high and the cost remains steady, I am a happy customer!
Great meals and so easy, 3 minutes in microwave! Excellent food quality! We are so glad we signed up!

Meals are delivered on time and well packed. Love the convenience of having dinner on the table in minutes. Like the portion control.
Their customer service response is exceptional, they will go above and beyond to find out what your needs are and exceed those, I have had a great experience and love the product and quality of the food!
So far it has been an 8 out of 10. I have been a member for a few months and most of my choices have been very good (fresh and quick). The one suggestion I would have, is to have more choices. I have skipped weeks frequently because I don't want the same selections, which in my opinion, don't change enough. None of the choices have changed since I joined and I probably won't continue if you "don't mix it up."
The food has been delicious and very convenient for my family! I do wish there were more options to choose from and slightly bigger portions. I would definitely recommend Freshly for people who are looking for easy and healthy meals!

In general the Freshly meals tastes great so the 1 star rating is with respect to using Canola Oil. Freshly does a great job of omitting 84 other unhealthy ingredients however one easily obvious ingredient that is very carcinogenic is canola oil. It really confuses me how you guys could miss the boat on this given the granularity of some of the other ingredients you choose to omit. You should be easily able to use healthier options of avocado and coconut oil to cook your meals. Because you use canola I have seriously considered cancelling my Freshly orders. I would ask you to consider adding Canola oil as #85 on your list of banned ingredients. It would be great to get a response on this issue as well. Thanks...**UPDATING my review... Freshly was very eager to discuss my concerns as well consider my recommendations for future product improvement so Im changing my rating to 4 stars to reflect their awesome customer service despite still having my concern against using Canola. I'm a registered dietitian who enjoys cooking and eating healthy. When my second son started to become mobile, cooking dinner became a disaster. Freshly was the perfect solution! The meals are not just healthy and delicious but also quite satisfying. I recommend this to all new parents who need a break from "doing it all".
Good, tasty food with good portions and relatively low calories. Low price. I wish it had less packaging. Also would like more variety.
Meals are quick and easy to prepare which is nice. There isnt much turnover in the selection so you run out of options pretty quickly. Food taste is ok. Had a few that were good but overall they arent things that you cant wait to have again.
WHY IS CAULIFLOWER IN SO MANY RECIPES? I WOULD PREFER RICE OR MASHED POTATOES. ANYTHING BUT CAULIFLOWER!

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!
Answer: Hi Steven, Thank you for your interest in Freshly! We are a weekly subscription service, so you would be charged for, and delivered meals on a weekly basis. However, you can select to skip weeks, or cancel your subscription at anytime! These changes would just need to be made prior to your weekly deadline, which is outlined in your Welcome Email, Reminder Emails, and in your Meal Planner. I hope this helps!
Answer: Our meals are prepared and shipped out from our kitchen in Phoenix.:-) For Arizona deliveries we use FedEx.
Answer: The delivery window they give us is between 9am and 9pm. We package the meals to be safe for 2 days transit time, plus safe to sit outside for up to 12 hours upon delivery.:-)
Answer: Hi Nancy! We do not cook meals based on other programs' guidelines at this time. We're not overly concerned with calorie counts, but more concerned with where calories come from. Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. First and foremost, I'd like to inform you that we're a weekly subscription service, which means you'll receive meals weekly, and get charged weekly as well. Here are the steps to follow while signing up: 1 - Add your email address and zip code in the sign-up box on our homepage. ( www.Freshly.com) 2 - Pick your meal plan. Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! The specific day of the week will be your weekly delivery day unless changed. 4 - Select your delicious meals from our 30+ selections. 5 - Add your contact info, payment details, and delivery address.

You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)

We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. While carrier delays are out of the norm, weather-related issues, road closures, driver confusion, etc. can wreak havoc. We have a dedicated delivery team that works directly with our carriers to ensure successful deliveries, and we're always sure to compensate when delays arise. We certainly hope this helps! Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
