The quality of the food was not worth the cost at the discount rate, and certainly not the full price! Frozen food from the grocery store is equal or better quality at a much lower cost. "Fresh" food and a microwave should not ever be combined. I have had similar, prepacked fresh food that was great! I have also bought Sun Basket and Blue Apron and would rather take time to cook food than pay the same amount for microwave TV dinner quality "fresh" food.
Additionally, the "customer service" was less than satisfactory as well. When a refund was requested, I was told that only a partial refund would be issued (very small partial), because it had been 5 days. There were six meals, so technically that isn't even time to have tried all the meals. But I had breakfast items so I was able to make it through all six meals.
The eggs, bread and pasta all turn to rubber when microwaved. I did try to cook some of the meals in a toaster oven and the results were minimally better.
I would certainly consider renaming the food to "semi-fresh" although even that is a stretch, and again certainly not worth $12.50 per disappointing meal!

I do apologize, as well, for the dissatisfaction caused by our Support Team. We don't intend to cause any inconvenience! In our Terms and Conditions we do mention that if there are any issues regarding an order, to reach out to us within five days of delivery. I do understand that you were reaching out regarding taste overall, and because of this, waited until trying all of your meals prior to contacting us! I do love all Freshly meals, chicken risotto is a must-try for every food lover. Therefore, the site gives a great selection of gluten-free meals, they are so delicious. Highly recommend ordering from Freshly.

Great healthy meals that don't focus on weight loss. I'm not eating these to lose weight, I'm eating them because they fit my busy lifestyles. Excellent company all around.
I am so glad my friends told me how much they loved Freshly. I signed up about a month ago and it's perfect my husband and I. We get our order on Friday's so we have meals for the whole weekend. We both work from home on the weekends with different schedules so this is such a great option for us to have. Easy clean up, no mess and great food. So happy with our decision to order.

I'm so sorry that you haven't been fully satisfied with our service and variety, and for any frustration caused by Site Jabber's one-hundred character word limit, Duane! On our end, at Freshly, we're listening to customer feedback and definitely have plans to expand the menu as we continue to grow! We've been steadily adding one new meal to our menu each week, and plan to increase this variety from week-to-week. With the addition of our new East Coast kitchen in 2019, we hope to have more ability to frequently rotate our menu!

In July 2017 my boyfriend and caretaker passed away suddenly. He had done all the shopping and cooking. I was able to get groceries in, but then I had to cook them. He left me his business to run, and I needed all the energy I had to keep it going.
I tried one of the competitors, but didn't like the food. Then one of the members on a Facebook widows group recommended Freshly. I like all the food Freshly sends, and I LOVE a lot of them. They have little icons on the menu items to identify if they are low cal, low carb, vegan and such. I have tried most of their dinners and have now settled on a set of low-carb ones.
Freshly has allowed me to stay in our apartment. Otherwise, I'd either have to pay for assistance to cook for me, or move into senior housing (which is more expensive than my apartment, and I'd have to move.). Freshly has saved my life!

It's been good! An issue with the shipping so a week was skipped -- I was in withdrawal! I missed my dinners. There have been a few meals I couldn't rate 5 stars but it could be ME -- not the company. But overall, this has been easy without the waste I had from grocery shopping and not using all the ingredients! I look forward to more variety -- sort of getting tired of carrots and green beans.

Most of the food is good, but some dishes lack flavor and are not cooked thoroughly, such are rice and sweet potatoes.

I have been using you fr 6 weeks now for my dad. I find that fresh foods are so much better. He loves the meatloaf, chicken risotto, and pilaf. The steak was chewy, but had good flavor. The pasta dishes have too much heat for him. Flavor can be added without heat would be nice. The cod cakes were ok just mushy when heated, I know that's the microwave, but maybe something could be added. So there are not enough choices, he did like the turkey before you added the balsamic vinegar to it. Doesn't do egg omelets, because of the sausage also I never received my 40.00 credit from the first order, just saying... anyway will continue using your dinners, have switched from 6 meals to 4 for now because of choices.

I really like Freshly meals - they're the best price I've seen for the quality that you get. Nice choices with some changes here and there to keep the menu interesting enough. Good website makes it easy to navigate through and make changes to weekly meals and delivery dates. My only issue with them is their packaging. It's very cumbersome and annoying. First, their gel ice packs - they're so huge and heavy - who on earth would be able to keep/store these in their freezers to re-use, especially when we get a new batch of 3-4 of them each week? The only real option is to toss/recycle them, but that process is infuriating. First, you have to defrost the ice pack, then cut open the plastic wrap, and dump the gel into the trash (the gel from the 3-4 packs we get each week really accumulates and becomes very heavy in the trash can). Then you can recycle the plastic wrap (which my curbside recycling won't even take, so I'll have to take the wrappers elsewhere to be recycled). Lots of trouble. Then, the plastic film on the individual meals is ridiculous. It is so insanely hard to peel these off - I have to pull very hard just to get them to budge an inch. I have to pull so hard I usually end up flicking food particles that are on the film onto myself or the counter/office desk or whatever surface I have them resting on. Hate it. I can't believe how hard it is just to open the meals on a daily basis. They really need to fix this issue - it should peel off with really minimal effort.

I love freshly! Meals are fabulous and subscription is easy to manage. Love the app! Only negative it the waste of the packaging in shipment. Maybe offer a more eco-friendly packaging or reusable shipping containers.

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!
Answer: Hi Steven, Thank you for your interest in Freshly! We are a weekly subscription service, so you would be charged for, and delivered meals on a weekly basis. However, you can select to skip weeks, or cancel your subscription at anytime! These changes would just need to be made prior to your weekly deadline, which is outlined in your Welcome Email, Reminder Emails, and in your Meal Planner. I hope this helps!
Answer: Our meals are prepared and shipped out from our kitchen in Phoenix.:-) For Arizona deliveries we use FedEx.
Answer: The delivery window they give us is between 9am and 9pm. We package the meals to be safe for 2 days transit time, plus safe to sit outside for up to 12 hours upon delivery.:-)
Answer: Hi Nancy! We do not cook meals based on other programs' guidelines at this time. We're not overly concerned with calorie counts, but more concerned with where calories come from. Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. First and foremost, I'd like to inform you that we're a weekly subscription service, which means you'll receive meals weekly, and get charged weekly as well. Here are the steps to follow while signing up: 1 - Add your email address and zip code in the sign-up box on our homepage. ( www.Freshly.com) 2 - Pick your meal plan. Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! The specific day of the week will be your weekly delivery day unless changed. 4 - Select your delicious meals from our 30+ selections. 5 - Add your contact info, payment details, and delivery address.

You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)

We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. While carrier delays are out of the norm, weather-related issues, road closures, driver confusion, etc. can wreak havoc. We have a dedicated delivery team that works directly with our carriers to ensure successful deliveries, and we're always sure to compensate when delays arise. We certainly hope this helps! Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
