I ordered fresh veggies and Ham! OMG soooo delicious and fresh foods. They gave me a gift of 2 boxes of organic figs.The best figs I've ever tested in this country! Out of this world

Not worth it. Food was late, perishables had melted, order was incomplete. In the time I spent trying to rectify the situation, I could have gone to the store 4 times. Creates hassle, doesn't eliminate it.

Horrible, absolutely horrible service! I'm a new customer who tried to place an order and was supposed to get $50 off well their customer service (Jessica) said I've been a customer since 2012 (meanwhile I wasn't even in the states that year) then she said, okay I activated your eligibility for the coupon and after I placed my order and money was taken out of my account, THEY DEACTIVATED MY ACCOUNT COMPLETELY WITHOUT ANY EMAIL OR CORRESPONDENCE ABOUT MY ORDER THEN I CALL THEM SEVERAL TIMES TO WHICH THEH LIED AND SAID I NEED TO CONTACT MY BANK MEANWHILE MY MONEY WAS TAKEN OUT AND I TOOK A DAY OFF WAITING FOR MY ORDER! Buyers, please stay away from this scam of a business! Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I don't even know where my money is now!

I used to think they had the BEST quality, really nice delivery people and caring customer service. HA. Not any more!
I placed an order a few days ago and then called to ask if they could assure me if I was not at home yet at the time of the delivery, please do NOT leave it at the back door but at the front door, because in the past, raccoons have immediately torn apart things which were edible and I have come home to remnants of packaging strewn around my yard. I didn't want that to happen. As luck would have it, we were having torrential rains, I was stuck in traffic and not home, and I saw on my security camera that they left my food delivery at the back door in the pouring rain and where it is easy pickings for a pack of raccoons which live nearby. Panicked, I called customer service. She called the driver to go pick up the package and put it at the front door. When she came back to the phone, she said they COULD NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET TO THE FRONT DOOR and that is why they went to the back. They had to walk past the walkway to the front door to get to the back, and most people do come to the front. It is a scary thought that a delivery person would offer this as a reason to put a delivery in the wrong place. Maybe Stevie Wonder, but if you are blind, you cannot see to drive a delivery truck. Bottom line: no one bothered to come back to pick up the package. I was watching on the cam. When I arrived home, an hour after I called to have them return for the package they left, I found a mess to clean up, no edible food left, and apparently, they leave food in an open bag not sheltered from bad weather, on the ground. And the woman on the phone from customer service was borderline nasty to me. And sadly, I will not be able to trust Fresh Direct to deliver another order again when they hire delivery people who don't follow directions and say they can't figure out how to get to the front door on a very small house. You cannot make this kind of thing up! THEN, at 11 p.m. we heard them in our driveway. Maybe they came by to pick up the mess the raccoons left. I should have left it for them.

I worked there in the kitchen and realized that the kitchen food was lost in the plant for weeks 1 hour after a delivery. Trying to locate it for days. They would reorder the sour cream to make food. And find the old batch of sour cream after it was out dated 2 MONTHS LATER! I open the container pour it all out, 2 inches ftom the bottom is all GREEN MOLD. The kitchen Executive Chef Michael Stark says DO NOT THROW IT OUT! He took it to his kitchen
Had 3 employees on a table take each cut the molded part out of the sour cream containers and made a pasta filling for his ready to eat meals! They loose food everyday in that plant! This is what they call quality control! Quality control at Fresh Direct means the consumer don't see it, see so who cares! Lets just make the money! The kitchen is run in a way that in the slow season they cut 6 to 8 employees from a dept overnight without planning, but the other employees work faster and are forced to make the same amount of dishes 8 people short per shift. NOT POSSIBLE TO BE DONE PROPERLY & PROFESSIONALLY!

Fresh Direct Christmas Party at Long Island City Plant got Food poisoning because Fresh Direct ordered the food from a woman who workers in the HUMAN RESOURCES DEPT! She didn't own a Restaurant. She did it In her apt!
You get what you pay for in life EXECUTIVE CHEF MICHAEL STARK was definetly behind this. Nothing gets done in the kitchen without his approval! He promises you a starting salary of $44,000 a year. You start working your job, quit your old job. 2 weeks later look at your check he gives you $8.00 an hour. You dont like it leave, know your unemployed. Or find a new job, this is basic common practice at Fresh Direct. They hire employees from the court coming out of jail. I'VE SEEN DRUG DEALS IN THE LOCKER ROOM. PEOPLE OFFERING TO SELL GUNS TO EACH OTHER! ITS LIKE A JUNGLE CHANGING CLOTHES TO GO HOME AND TO COME TO WORK! HAS IT CHANGED I DON'T KNOW BUT THIS IS THE PLACE THAT HANDLES THE FOOD YOU EAT! GOOD LUCK!. YOUR ROLLING DICE LIKE A CASINO IF YOU CAN GET PASSED A MEAL THATS HEALTHY OR WILL KILL YOU OR YOUR CHILD!. Received a fraud alert from my bank yesterday. Fresh Direct sent a 0.00 charge to my card to see if it would go through and was active. Luckily my bank doesnt put up with this stuff. Wonder if there were going to be more fraudulent charges down the road? Not now cuz that card is canceled. Wonder how they got the number cuz I had never used them and now for sure I never will.

One of the Managers for Shipping Department hate Blacks, to the point of showing favoritism to workers of his ethnicity. Only Blacks he pressured to work. His kind stand around and doesn't do much. Hard workers doesn't get recognized or treated with respect. Worse company to work.

This used to be a great service, but not anymore. Ever since they changed location or went to their new site or whatever it is they called it... they are terrible. Last night I was lied to 3 times, wound up waiting for my groceries the entire day and then was told when my delivery time was close to coming to an end that they "were done for the night and had returned to the plant." And what do they want to give me for my aggravation? 20 bucks in credit... well they can take that credit and go jump in a lake with it. I am done... PLEASE people don't waste your time with Fresh Direct.

Terrible

I was a regular customer when they first started. The store in my neighborhood closed so i thought i would start up again. Despite all of the on line offers and hectoring emails when i placed the or and the delivery failed they said the had no record. They insisted i had to use an old email. I suggested perhaps there was some one who could help it was impossible. No one would step into help. This was an effective service, no more.

I used Fresh Direct for many, many years but then they switched their Distribution facility and began to have nightmarish service issues that they just could not seem to get a handle on. I finally had to stop using them.

Going downhill fast

FD was very good when I first began using them (about 10 years ago). But lately things have truly gone down hill. What irks me most is their inventory management - it is dreadful. With almost every order I am told at the last minute that a particular item is not available. This is unacceptable and I am now researching alternative grocery delivery options. I cannot in good conscience recommend them!

I have been a customer of Fresh Direct for well over 10 years, if not more. They started off great, but the last year or so, they have gone drastically downhill. The reason is mostly related to their very poor inventory management skills. For instance, you place your order at least 1 week ahead of time and you want orange juice. Then all of the sudden the day of your delivery, you get an email stating the OJ was not available. This is not a specialty item, but a basic grocery item that many people order. No excuse for this. And this scenario has happened each time I have placed an order in the past several months. I have brought it to their attention and they do nothing about it. So I am no longer a customer.

I have used FreshDirect probably 20 times over the last few months. Most of those times were because I was unable to shop for myself, such as now, with torn knee cartilage. Sometimes I just liked the idea of the convenience. But with at least 18 out of the 20 orders, one or more things in each carton was spoiled, left out of the order, damaged, the wrong product, and with other problems. It has gotten worse and worse; I don't want their damn credits, I want my damn food. Today's order was an abomination, and I will just have to hobble to the store or order takeout so I have something to eat. Their trucks were obviously malfunctioning because all the perishables arrived warm--the pound of cheese, pound of turkey, and sour cream. The "frozen waffles" arrived completely defrosted (soft, damp, white, floppy). I emailed them photos. I demanded that they bring me another box. A second box arrived, as thawed-out as the first. I had to throw them all out. As if they'd never seen the inside of a freezer. Plus they sent the wrong cheese anyway. They left out the tuna fish. The previous week I threw up after eating their fish cubes. The nectarines were rotted-out. Bananas were brown mush at one end. I could go on and on and on. It's a travesty. There's gotta be a state agency or something that goes after companies that don't do what they claim they do, and they collect $6 on deliveries whether the delivery is a disaster or not. I think FreshDirect is a fraudulent company that should be exposed.

Driver ignored delivery instructions. Then handed me a dozen large boxes of food. No receipt or anything like that. No idea what was in the boxes, or if the order was even complete. Wont be ordering again.

Horrible management

This company have no respects for their employees special driver. Management sucks, Jeff worst GM in history rude, and forcing the drivers to speed so they can $#*! up. Eric is little $#*!. I feel sorry for people who continue to work at this company.

Wouldn't recommend FD

I tried and tried. First order - all the cold items were warm and spoiled so I rejected the order. They offered to send me the same order 2 days later with full refund. They gave me credit for the items that still came crushed. Tried again - missing items. Now I had to go to the food store anyway again. Then they gave me $100 credit for one more chance. HA rotten fruit, almost expired yogurt... need I say more. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I'll stick to Pea Pod or order online and pick up.

Poor service

Every single order I made with FD has been messed up. They do not check to make sure all items ordered are in the delivery. Used them about 7 times... 7 times the order was missing items. No quality service... fruit is moldy. Horrible company.

Horrible management

Driving instructor (Tony) threatened me on 3/2/17 because he's an ex boxer who doesn't take crap from students. I called the Cops on him and Fresh Direct fires me after the Cops leave. 60 % of the employees are Convicts and on Parole. Consumers deserve better. These Convicts enter your private homes. You must be Leary about this Company.

Not my thing

I wish I could say I loved hellofresh.com, but this is just not up to my standard. Allow me to explain. I like to pick my fruits and vegetables to ensure that I'd eat the finest produce.

Hellofresh obviously doesn't allow you to do that, but you'd expect that their staff would take the time to curate the best possible ingredients for you. Apples are too hard and plain. Berries look great, but have zero taste. The same goes for carrots, tomatoes, and well, everything. Not a fan.
