Real Story with this scam site happened to me just few days ago I was new to the site they sent me one of their HIRED scammers, the scammer appointed me for a project out of no where I accepted it depending on this big site will protect my rights but NO! They charged me for that fake project, the employer then asked for Nude pictures (a trick to drive me away and run) when I refused to send the pictures he simply deleted the project and left the website I complained to the support team and they told me they are not responsible for the work between the employer and the worker and that I own them the project fee regardless of their hired scammers (I am confident that they are hired because I was new to the site and the employer came out of no where), be aware everyone don't bid or accept any project the employer can do anything and not pay you a penny but the site will deduct their fees anywhere and they are not responsible for the employer behavior!
Freelancer.com is hiring people to fill up positive reviews of complaint sites so that the first pages of reviews on review websites will show only 5 stars. So this is how they "up" their game to cover up their negative unresolved issues.
What they do before is they act and talk to every person who post negative review telling them to contact them through their email to get the issue resolved. In fact, I did that but eventually you always end up with unresolved disputes. Eventually people re-posted their experiences online. Their "terms and conditions" is the natural downfall of the company. They think it is fair, but it seems like users don't see it fair thus this is the natural result of their doings.
Freelancer.com is best, it's so easy to find a work here for good price. It is easy to begin and also later when you have good rating you can win many projects as you want. Really great opportunity for everyone. Highly recommend to anyone who want to start doing as freelance graphic designer!

Firesoft International, C. A. it's a company that started with just a couple of freelancers and in a little space of time we were able to grow and grow. After less than a year we have achieved lots of the goals we aimed for and were able to turn ourselves in a real company.
This is all thanks to Freelancer for their help, they guided us and supported us, while we, at the same time, got more and more experience and knowledge.
Thanks, with all our heart to Freelancer from Firesoft International, C. A.
If you want to know how to save your money, it is not to use Freelancer.
There are forever paypal payments being made automatically to them - they have had to refund money on one project, and when the project fell through (the freelancer employed to do the job failed to finish it, not their fault, although their system did recommend him as the best person for the job!) I chose Paypal as the payment return.
14 days before they will even process the payment - 14 days! There site says it is for security reasons - it does NOT take 14 days to process a paypal payment.
I have emailed them three times on this issue - and customer support has failed to even reply once. If I could give them 0 stars I would - terrible terrible customer services and standards.
Summary - numerous payments made by Paypal that they don't tell you about when you sign up, no customer support, and they hold on to your own rightful money even when they should be paying it back. Sound like a reputable platform to be dealing with - make your own decision...
You need to read, understand and follow them rules, if you do so then you shouldn't have any problem working with them.

And the msg is:
The prize for your contest Develop a Corporate Identity has been released to the top entries and freelancers.
You guaranteed to award the prize for the contest but did not select a winning entry within the 30 days provided.

Thanks freelancer.com, I love travel around the world, now I´m relaxing from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, Really love work and walk in the beach. Regards. Yuly
I only can say good things about the site, since I started at work on freelancer.com two years ago, everything has been really good. The support its always there for any doubt, the payments are on time every time, and the chances to get work are too much.
Freelancer.com it's an awesome opportunity to start a great career in the world market.
I highly recommend freelancer.com!
Used it for the first time. Not reliable as the first 'freelancer' used a fake identity. All he wanted and cared about was milestone being funded. Tried to look for ways to email Freelancer.com for questions as I accidentally hit the 'recommend' button of this failed free lancer and wanted to figure out how to un-recommend. It could not be done! Horrible site.
Choose between underpaid work or beeing scammed.
I've also gone through projects which wnted me to download a RAT posing as an image file.
Is it possible to put 0?
I took a project, my employer has got his file and just deleted his profile. And the freelancer.com took fee and charged me... so I did the job, and I payed. Not fair!
And there is no way to get the true..
I was recently had my account hacked and projects were accepted on my behalf. They take a 10% project fee from the amount? What? That's crazy that I have to pay to work! Anyway, I thought that because I was hacked that I would be refunded because I didn't accept the project? Boy was I wrong! I lost $120 because freelancer won't refund me and PayPal didn't help either. I'm letting everyone know that Freelancer is a scam website that has fake employers on there ready to use people and take their money! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! I'm in the process of shutting down my account, they cannot be trusted. They will not refund under any circumstances even when it's not your fault. Even if the employer backs out of the project you accepted, you lose the 10% you paid and don't get paid! Why are they still allowed to run their SCAM SITE?
I created one small project and got 14 transactions... 14!
2 project fees.
4 transaction fees
2 milestone payment (i only had one milestone)
4 deposits
1 membership
1 something i don't even understand.
The totalt amount of fees you pay is significantly over 10% of the project and your bank account history will look like a receipt from a super market with all the transactions from freelance.
This isn't just bad. This is hoax.
I was a Freelancer on this website until recently. All they do is take their cut of YOUR money and give you pre-written responses when an issue arrises (which will happen - trust me!).
I've provided work to employers whom never paid me a dime! They disappear and/or chargeback their $ to get free work. Freelancer also penalizes YOU because of your employer not verifying their identity... like what? How does that make sense? What are we supposed to do - force them to verify their identity? Pretty sure that's up to them whether they wish to put their personal info on a fraudulent website.
I've lost HUNDREDS of dollars on this website due to the horrible way they do business. I do not recommend and glad I found an alternative!
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
