Scam
June 28, 2023

Company will continue to charge you after you have already cancelled your line prior to the renewal date and then refuse to refund you due to "company policy". Total scam and basically stealing from people. Not worth it.

Worst customer service I've ever had. I spoke with a freedom supervisor who seemed rushed and unpleasant as she tried to complete my call as fast as possible after I waited over 45 minutes on hold.
When I signed up for a plan, I received a $10 discount for a year, but they only provided me 11 months, and when I mentioned it, they argued that they had already given me 12 months. This Supervisor doesn't even know how to count and later I had count with her each month one by one. Freedom please recruit some knowledgeable individuals about the products.

I was quite disappointed. NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE!

Worst cell carrier in Canada called for support for annoying Chinese and Indian scam calls and they offered little to no help. Its no mere coincidence that a Punjabi answered the tech call as I am now convinced these Indian in Canada are selling Freedom Mobile customer information to Indian scammers. Their cell network is constantly being hacked by them and they use the forwarding feature to hide their tracks.

My contract with Rogers ended yesterday and I just signed up with freedom and I went to the location of the Woodbine mall about 10 minutes to close and they stayed back half an hour. Help me get an incredible plan that is $50 cheaper per month than I was playing with Rogers, and that includes an upgrade to a newer iPhone. The staff member working there was named Alex he was so great I cannot say enough how knowledgable and helpful and courteous he was.

Poor service
March 9, 2023

If you can avoid this company and help yourself, just do that! I was Freedommobile customer and stopped using their service! They do not cover large part of Ontario. The signal is week, or none, so you do not have access to any service! The customer service is catastrophic! They do not help people. The plans are outdated and now adjusted to the customers' needs! As an example, ones, I paid my monthly fee but, after they got payment, they suspended my account! Even though I paid my due on time, after unjustified account suspension, they have never reimbursed my money!?! They explanation was that they do not reimburse money! Again, Freedommobile does not reimburse money for the services they did not provide! Shameful, disappointing, unprofessional...! I am not suggesting Freedomombile to anyone!

Honest Review? I am in Toronto Canada, I got three lines from Freedom for my kids (my wife and I are with Rogers). I gotta say with full confidence that this is the MOST inept backwards disorganized company on planet earth (think back to the Rogers days when they held the title). In each of my three instances I have to port a number over. Numbers that I bought that cost me $250 each. I have 30 days to port them or I lost them. I gave all the info to Freedom on day one at the store in person. I made him repeat it twice as the info has to match perfectly or the port will get rejected. He had it perfect told me it would take an hour (bull$#*! I know better than that). 4 days later no love, I call (I in put my phone number when prompted and pin when prompted then when I speak to a rep they ask me for what? Yes my number and my pin) already disgruntled but I gotta get this number ported. The rep asks me for the porting info all over again argh! Says 3 more days. 4 days later nothing, my porting co (numbershack) tells me they are trying everything they can to get Freedom to accept but they havent done anything on their end. I call back, (I get hung up on twice) they ask me for all the info again (this is 4 hours now of talking to diff people). I go on vacation I come back still hasnt been ported. By now Im freaking out cause I have a week before I lost that number. I call back ask for a supervisor. I get hung up on after 30 minutes of dilly dallying. I finally get Yassin. 30 more minutes he tells me he is going to personally look into it and will call me back within 2-3 hours. That was yesterday. No call back, no nothing. Dont know what to do. Do I sue for the loss of my number? I already paid for the service in full for a year (on day one of trying to port this number). The other 2 numbers I bought a year ago, same bull$#*!, took 2 weeks and three phone calls but this time it's different, this time the customer service reps are worse than last year if thats possible and I blame upper management for ill trained employees, not having a VR that transfers input into reps' CRM and for being totally ignorant of customers pain and anguish with no due process to escalate. My three numbers expire next year then I am out. Thank God my wife and I stuck with Rogers, at least that service is sable and they are now well trained (wasnt always the case I had words with their then VP Mike Adams as I was in the industry and he promised he would make changes and he did). Other than that Freedom prices are good just pray you dont need support for anything cause that is non existent.

Cheap and Cheat!
January 15, 2023

I was hooked since the salesman lied about the plan and did not tell me I can cancel within 15 days until I received the first bill. Since you signed without reading the whole agreement and just listened to salesman. You will regret!

SCAM
January 4, 2023

Stay away.
Internet is sucks and I paid $50 for a deposit and when I disconnect Freedom I asked for a refund my deposit but never arrived. It has been 16weeks to wait and contact a manager and he said wait until you receive it. That is what you will receive a customer service when you are not a customer.

Amateur Penny Pinchers

After cancelling my account with them by telephone, they continued charging me for 3 months of unused service. When I called to claim, they stated they were aware and were sorry for the issue but could not refund me. Absolutely unacceptable. Go with a real company

Unfortunately most tech/mobile support is bad these days, but Freedom Mobile blows everything out of the water; unbelievably technically incompetent 'support' staff who only seem to read from some basic cheat sheet, and zero listening or engaging skills. I spent HOURs in the store and on the phone on an issue I was initially told is a "two minute" issue. During the process, as I was pushed further down the technical support line, I was told by every (!) FM person that what ever the previous FM person told me was wrong. This has now been the second time that I wasted many hours of my time to have a small technical problem solved (one that was on the Freedom System side, not a user issue!), mostly because of being referred to the wrong level/skill of support and repeating the same stuff over and over. And all of that for a service with very limited cell coverage and same pricing level than some others. I am done with FM and will shift ny family to another provider and hope for the best.

REGRET I SWITCH TO THIS PROVIDER, STAY AWAY!
Big regret! Stay away!
The most horrible provider ever. Extremely poor! This company site tower are absolutely terrible. Use of local or even roaming outside of the country is waste of money. They are useless and not convenient, whenever you use your data looking for signal you'll be surprise in two minutes, you get a text that you exceeded your limit. Not worth paying them this as you can't even use your data as their is no signal. Extremely worst experience in this provider

I spent 90 minutes on a call today to switch my mobile plan from my old Apple Watch to my new Apple Watch. I was thrown from one agent to another agent 5 times! Like a soccer ball from one side to the other and I never achieved any result. At the same time, I was on a call in freedom mobile store and this call was heard by all the customers who came in and laughed and sympathized with me very much. When I asked to speak to the supervisor, they never connected me. Now I have a mobile plan for 2 mobile phone numbers and an Apple Watch. I wanted to take another number for my daughter, but now I'm thinking deeply about doing business with freedom mobile company at all. For my part, I am very disappointed with freedom mobile service and I think tomorrow I will change the provider to Fido or someone else. But I am grateful to freedom mobile employees in the store who spoke to me very well. They have seen and heard everything and are themselves shocked by freedom mobile customer service.

Absolute incompetence
October 4, 2022

Absolute incompetence. I simply wanted to port my number from Koodo. Well, no. You have to get a 'temporary number' to set up an account, to start a transfer. Of course, they don't tell you this until you get your Sim card and try to start the activation.

And this is after 35 minutes of 'support' to figure out why my number and PIN aren't in their system.

Ok, so give me a temporary number, whatever.

YOU HAVE TO GO TO A STORE TO GET THIS TEMPORARY NUMBER.

Seriously, how can a technology company not be able to remotely give you a TEMPORARY number?

And this is after filling in all their forms and spending ~an hour getting this all set up to get the Sim card in the first place... and it never dawned on the person I was discussing this all with to mention this?

What a waste of my life. Serves me right in trying to deal with a company owned by Shaw. I should have known better.

Regret getting contract
September 20, 2022

Horrendous customer service from the Filipines or Egypt. I requested a Canadian CSR and got someone from Quebec that was just as terrible. I just got a contract, 6gigs for $50 last month. This month $50 is 20gigs, CSR DONT CARE, don't offer help or enhancement.
Also before I signed contract, I was pay as you go and I had just paid a new month when I decided to explore a contract and they didn't mention that pay as you go is not refundable, not even as a credit towards contract 1st invoice. All they cared about was getting the contract signed and rid of you for next sucker on the line. This company is shamelessly horrible. I will be calling them to buy me out of contract and get rid of them.

My car broke down on the 401 near Victoria Parkway, in Scarborough. There was no reception so I had to get out of my car and walk down the 401 during rush hour traffic to get help. Customer service is the worst of any provider I've ever had (Bell, Rogers, Koodoo, and my wife uses Telus). Not worth the discounted price.

If you're even thinking about signing up for this service, give your head and good smack and RUN!

Hands down the WORST cellular service I've ever experienced - and I've tried A LOT!

They should never have even signed me up for their network, since my phone (Samsung A30s) is not compatible with their system. Then they blamed ME for not knowing that. No credit for the money wasted that was billed to my credit card for 3 months as I travelled about with a useless paperweight of a phone in my pocket - I could only use it when connected to Wifi, as Freedom Mobile certainly did not offer the freedom to do so.

After explaining to Saed, the manager, on the phone (using a phone supplied by a mall kiosk, since mine could not place calls), he asked if I would consider keeping the service with a $5/mth credit applied. I don't think he listened to a word I said (and that was after speaking to three other, equally unhelpful, "agents"). He refused any form of compensation for the charges to my credit card, commanding me to go to their website to view their service agreement. (I'd think you'd have to actually offer a service before you draft such an agreement - so it's more of a "non-service agreement", really.)

Poor service, horrible coverage areas, and even worse customer service.

It doesn't get any worse than this, folks. Do yourself a favour, and RUN already!

I have a decent, fairly cheap deal as far as it goes that I'm happy with. Plans are better than a lot that other providers have. I like that they just throttle you back if you go over on data instead of swiping your life savings. You won't get surprize bills.

Customer service seems a bit lacking on the website end. Staff in City Center Mall Edmonton were helpful and friendly setting up my phone. Otherwise so far I've had no interaction with them.

I've been a customer for 10 months, paid on time and not eligible to upgrade my plan. Bit of a downer.

Online bill payment is no fuss. I've had no problems.

Website can be extremely slow to load if your internet is slow, to the point of being unusable.

Overall: consider Freedom but shop around for the best deal you can get.

I have been with freedom for just over 4 years I was pre pay and quiet happy as such. All of a sudden they switched me to a bill without my consent and have never told me anything about no spending cap I've gone 2 months before without paying and paid in full the third bill under much different circumstances money was tight and I didn't call in and speak to any agent about letting them know not to disrupt the service it would be paid in full when I got a full pay Friday so the first person gave me a promise to pay due to my emergency circumstances which they can clearly see all the stuff where I have victim services cLls going in a d out as well as police and Canadian mental health victim protection not lik im talking to friends on it its all emergency ppl I need to be in contact with so the girl today say I'm sorry your 15 dollars or your allowed cap on your account with your new bill coming out... I said ok but that's not out till April 8th so wth is the deal and we were just going in circles I felt like I was talking to a bot. I would have gotten further so I suggest DONT USE FREEDOM IF U HAVE CRAZY EXS THAT STALK YOU AND THE COPS COULP POTENTIALLY TAP OR JAM YOUR PHONE CAUSE AFTERWARDS FREEDOM TREATS YOU LIKE A CRIMINAL. AND IF YOU HAVE AND TYPE OF MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES RELATED TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE OR RAPE OR AND TYPE OF BRUTALALITY OR TRAUMA THEY TREAT U LIKE YOU DONT EXSIST OR MATTER GO TO BELL THEY MIGHT BE A LIL MORE EXPENSIVE BUT THERE AMAZING WHEN IT COMES TO TRAUMA AND EMERGENCY SERVICES IN GENERAL IN ALL WAYS MEN N WOMEN..
