One of the worst run for customer service and now to be on the receiving end of a crippling class action lawsuit. Why deal with these guys who wont return calls or your money. Deal with Airbnb and others

Terrible experience, the worst I had so far!
I've made an enquiry about a property on HolidayLetting and I've been contacted by this person who did confirm the property was still available and in order to book it I had to make a payment via a FlipKey invoice
Which I did. Soon after the payment the person has disappeared.
I did call the company in the email signature of this property manager, they didn't know about this person and they don't rent property!
I started contacting holidayletting customer service but they were really inefficient, keep asking me the same questions I've told them many time I don't have an answer for that's why I was contacting them
Tonight after a week of emails with the customer service and 2 without an answer from the property manager I find out via a random research on internet that the email I was contacting is a scam!
And worst the news was posted on a tripadvisor forum!
Rents2luxury that's the email!
Now how can Tripadvisory not advertise this in their Homeletting website and how can the customer service not been informed about it!
I'm so mad... I'm in my last part of the pregnancy and this booking was for my family to come and spend time with the new born and instead of relaxing I'm quite stressed about the substantial amount I've lost in this and how Holidayletting couldnt care less about it!
I did report it to the Police via ActionFraud but I'm sure I will not see my money anymore!

Ok, i booked a 2br/2bath through Flipkey in Los Angeles for a March 10-a 2016 stay well in advance, paid my deposit and paid off balance Feb 11th as asked. I was now excited for my trip to start. I get an email/call literally Feb 23rd, 10 days after I paid in full, that my booking was cancelled by the owner. They gave me a reason that owner sold his apt and can't rent it anymore. Now I have about 2 weeks to find another place, I have spoken to 6 different FK (flip key) reps since this happen, not one of them showed any urgency to fix the problem. I specified I needed 2br/2b and a pool and I'm leaving in 10 days so please help. First set of new properties came in email, no follow up call (as I heard I was going to get) nothing close to what I needed. Next person I called I had to explain whole story to again (btw I had to tell same story to every single person I talked to at FK, including a couple supervisors) they promised help and said will send over more properties to look at and call me later to discuss if call volume wasn't high. No call, and most of what they sent were 1br no pool etc. I call next day, get another rep, he is going to help me get this problem fixed. He sent me over 8 nice properties to look at in Miami, Fla. Only problem was we are going to Los Angeles. At this point I emailed back and swore they had me on candid camera. This charade continued thru a few more reps with no concrete leads. Finally, Tuesday, March 1st, I talked to someone that actually seemed to care and help more then all the others. We went over all the same listings left, some were available and seemed great but of course once owner was contacted place wasn't available. I decided to try other companies and found a place 60 feet from my original place I got screwed on for 400 dollars less, no booking fee. Next day I was contacted, signed rental agreement and ready to go. Sorry for lengthy review, however, I am also in the customer service business and the funny thing about customer service is this "you don't notice customer service until your not getting it" and trust me FK does not get it and certainly didn't give it in this situation.

My review isn't so much about Flipkey as mush as it is about someone posing to be Flipkey, I sent an inquiry to a person on Flipkey only to get a great response, with a discount for the place we were looking to reserve. This person knew all about our family, age of our children, even the fact we were bringing our dog with us. He linked to "his flip-key website" We exchanged communication over 5-6 emails and he said someone canceled last minute which opened their place up for 2 weeks which he was offering us both weeks for $3800 (usually $2400 a week) just to have it booked before the end of the year. Seemed a little suspicious but still not to tall of a story. After him submitting me a contract with all the flip-key information he asked that I pay in full. A TRANSFER THE MONEY TO HIS OVERSEAS BANK ACCOUNT. I then logged on to Flipkey to look at the initial property site, called the owner who know nothing about me, my family or my dog. And told me his place was booked for the entire summer. He said I was not the first person to call him about his place being offered and he really has no clue who is showing up at his address this summer and flip-key will not help him with this issue. I was lucky enough to never give him any personal information or money but my heart breaks for the family who used all their savings for a vacation and DID get scammed.

Family vacation
January 27, 2016

BR******* in Davenpoort is a 8 bedroom Villa and certainly was a very comfortable and fun house for our family of 15 people from ages of 3-70. We loved going into Disney every day and ending up with wonderful relaxing pool time. The design of the home was wonderful for all the different ages of children and families. Loved our accomodations

They spam advertisers
January 8, 2016

As an advertiser on Flip Key I have noted that they send some 1/3 of fake clients for those who are under subscription pay per lead.

So you pay them for fake client and you do not know. I would avoid them to use in case you are searching advertising site. They are partial fakers and you will pay and for fake requests. Like in emails request where stands and this... " is your place good for yoga... :) And you get couple similar emails from time to time. Avoid them

Avoid, avoid, avoid!
January 6, 2016

FlipKey changed my owner assigned room from 4th floor to 12th floor. They changed the amount I owe from what the owner quoted. They disabled the property listing on line. I think that they are not treating the owner right. Very difficult to talk with them by phone. They are slow in returning phone calls. I had to call several times and leave messages. It appears that this company is driven by greed and not customer satisfaction. I will never use them again. I did get my deposit back after 30 days of calling and emailing. When I finally got to talk with Azhar Shaikh his answers were standard on-line policy. I hope that Trip Advisor can survive this FlipFlap.

Bait and switch
December 31, 2015

Why does FlipKey allow a "bait and switch" environment on the internet. Have attempted to book two different properties only to be told the listed price is not correct and have the price hiked up $40 to $80 more per night. Attempted to contact anyone at FlipKey/TripAdvisor, without success. Have they become a "I'm too big to care" business?

As an advertiser on Flip Key & Trip Advisor, I can tell you that these companies offer the most horrible customer service in the industry. They are now encouraging travelers to pay their rental fees through the websites, after which they charge another fee, both to the traveler and to the subscriber. There is no option to avoid this scam unless the subscriber is aware of it and calls (and sits on hold for over an hour before customer no-service picks up the phone) to have it removed from their listing. Please, go to VRBO or some other site before you choose to use Flip Key or Trip Advisor.

About a week ago I was unable to update my Flipket calender after I received a booking on another site. The site was just frozen for 3 days until I gave up wasting time. A booking request came through some days laterfor 21 days. But as the first 2 days were not available I was unable to accept the booking. I sent the guest another quote. But as the guest was travelling by road, he was unaware that his booking had not been processed and that there was a new quote. There n waso support from Flipkey, Sent an email to the support it came back this email no longer active. As a result, I have declined other bookings, and missed out on this $1230 booking. Will be delisting on Flipkey and advising all others to do so as well. Just pathetic. Horrible. Time wasting Deceptive. Host support- Zero. Go Airbnb. You rock! Flipkey, you suck! Big time!

Upon posting our rental home they tack on not the 3% that it states in their description but in fact add anywhere from 18% to 23%! Also, we have our rental set to 30 day minimum. Yet they allow a 7 night rental AND took the client's money. You can only cancel the rental through their 1-800 # (which ONLY deals with cancellations) and now we get an email saying that we will be charged $150 cancellation fee for their error! Do not rent through this site or list your place on this site!

Good try TripAdvisor
October 25, 2015

It's always useful to have another, good vacation rental resource. However, FlipKey does not seem to be this. The site doesn't have many updated calendars which makes it very difficult to reliably book a place. I would suggest they make more of an effort to better maintain their listings. Also, the UX is OK but lacks a way to easily "favorite" a property. And the messaging tool is poorly laid out.

I booked a stay at a condo in Key West 4 days ago and had not yet received a confirmation of booking. When I called today to see whether the owner had accepted the booking request, of course I had a very difficult time getting a human on the other end of the phone. When I finally did I learned that my reservation was lost in cyberspace or either ignored because the property had been reserved for someone else, but I wasn't notified that the request wasn't accepted. Now I am in the situation of having to find substitute accommodations at a higher price at the last minute. I will never use Flipkey again.

BAD SERVICE
September 17, 2015

I have booked a beachfront property with FLIPKEY for September 28 through October 2nd. 2015
I did not get the property address until 3 days after the booking. When I got the address it was not the same beachfront property that was advertised in the listing. I asked flipkey representative why are they miss-representing the property and I was told that I have to talk to the property owner. I contacted the property owner and he told me that the property is 70 meters from the beach. I have asked the owner for the Goggle coordinates for the property and when I got them I found out that the property was over 300 meters from the beach. I asked the owner to cancel this reservation and issue full refund do to miss-representation. The owner agreed to cancel, but when I contacted FLIPKEY representative he told me that FLIPKEY will not cancel and the rep. Was very rude and un-professional. I had to contact my AMERICAN EXPRESS and open a dispute. I would not recommend using FLIPKEY for any service. There are many legitimate and professional booking services out there.

Stay away from Flipkey!
September 2, 2015

I put my listing on Flipkey because they said they'd synch my calendar with Airbnb (which I've used for 2 years with no problems at all.) After booking my first renter, Flipkey apparently did NOT add it to my Airbnb calendar and I ended up with a double booking. Bad enough, but there was absolutely NO way to contact them, except by predetemined questions via email, none of which addressed my problem, and resulted in a stock reply. HORRIBLE WAY TO DO BUSINESS, with no recourse for an emergency. (At least Airbnb has phone contact.) I scrambled and found a place with a friend for the Flipkey people, and here I am, 24 hours later, and still nobody has contacted me. STAY AWAY FROM FLIPKEY!

I tried to rent a house through this site. I clicked on contact owner and got a mail from a fake owner. The scamer must have infiltrated Flipkey or is Inside FlipKey.

I received FlipKey documents and formular and a FlipKey like banking adress.
I lost 7200$ dollars because a scamer contacted me after my visit on this site and he used all logo and documents of FlipKey.

FlipKey claimed that their site is ultra safe and did noting for me. I've lodged three complaints against them.

Never trust this site. It is unsafe and FlipKey will do nothing for you (if you managed to reach them)...

Just spend the past weekend at a location in Hollywood/Broward County, Florida. The apartment was fully equipped, internet, tv, etc like you're at home. Beach was one step ahead, perfect location to forget all stress. Very clean and well maintained. The best part was that although we took food, beverages and some stuff for the 4 days, it was very easy to find restaurants and night entertainment close to the apt. No doubt we are going to repeat the visit cause me and my family are really satisfied. This is a 100% recommended place.

I am amazed that any traveler would pay an exorbitant fee to Flipkey or any other travel site to book a vacation rental, when there are quite a number of other sites, Home away, VRBO, vacation rentals, to mention a few, that charge no fee to the traveler? I am an owner and found Flipkey to be the most difficult company to deal with, with absolutely no customer support, whatsoever. If one believes that he/she, as a traveler, is being "protected" by the website, you would be sorely amiss in this assumption. The website's only job is to make as much money for the corporation as possible. Period.

Property manager
June 23, 2015

I have had a listing with Flipkey for 2 years, called to cancel and I have been on the phone for 45 minutes and still on hold. Very easy to create an account and have them start taking money out of your account, very hard to cancel. So 1 hour and 10 minutes and they would not let me cancel even though I created the account as the property manager. They said that they needed to speak to the owner. Again, you can create the account without speaking to the owner but not cancel it. Money is coming out of my account monthly, will just put a stop to it. No common sense on their part, It was my cell number, email and bank account on the Flipkey account. I even set up the security question? Anyway owners and property managers beware that the customer service is not on our side. Note: I was only going to cancel for a few months as we were booked. If anyone reads this from Flipkey, you need to review your policy, for we may not be back with our 2 listings.

Unfortunately my experience is very negative. I have tried and tried as a paying client to reach customer service and talk to someone directly... it is IMPOSSIBLE. Our CURRENT problem for over one year now has been what the site is saying our percentage is in replying to potential guests. It is in reality 100%. But 33 % is now displayed and what everyone who looks at our place is actually seeing! When I try to contact I receive a GENERAL email that they are sending everyone... that they are looking into it BUT it is NEVER solved. Amazingly ignorant and they take 100s of dollars every year from customers! So Angry.
