I've now owned 2 Fitbits, a Versa and a Versa 2. In both instances, the watches died shortly after the warranty expired. After the original Versa died, I figured it was just a fluke and purchased a Versa 2 which also died right after the warranty expired. Their customer service proved useless when I was told they don't repair them and they gave me an offer of a 35% discount on a new one. Guess what I told them they could do with their 35% offer.
Worked ok for first couple months then it started not tracking my maps on runs, going into DND mode where it became inaccessible, automatically changes from dim to bright screen, buttons unresponsive battery is poor after 1 hour jog it's drained and need to recharge. Now it says my phone is no longer compatible with the app!?
I cannot recommend this product looks elsewhere perhaps Garmin, but avoid this!
Charge 4 breaks at connections to bands and customer service is terrible. Have a device under warranty and have been waiting two months for approved replacement under warranty. The replacement they finally sent was dead and had to start process all over again waiting for them to receive faulty part they sent prior to shipping replacement. Talked to customer service multiple times to no support. I am done with them and have been a
Customer for many years.
Accidentally broke the glass of my Fitbit, Versa3 which was still under guarantee. Fitbit refuses to help. Ombutsman could also not get them to help.
Fitbit sense was bought as Xmas gift 2021. Within three months the watch stopped working. Fitbit sent me a new insert as a replacement. The replacement has also stopped working after a few months. I believe Fitbit is aware of a malfunction and thier fix is to give a new insert so the warranty will be covered for o l'y one year. After this offer an Insulting 35% coupon off a new purchase? Who would be crazy enough to buy a new one after this experience.
The Sense only does a few things right. It doesn't measure zone minutes correctly. I can be watching TV and it starts picking up zone minutes from the rocking chair. It shows stairways I've never climbed. It doesn't measure steps on a treadmill. Some of the customer service people are the worst I've ever experienced. At this time, a tech from the escalation team is supposed to call me. It's been two weeks and I can't get an estimate about when I can expect to hear from them. If you want to take advantage of some of the other measurements they tout, you have to pay extra each month. I had a Charge 2 and a Versa and was very happy. The Sense is beyond disappointment and the price was over $300. I've read about a lot of other unhappy buyers, as well. I will never buy another Fitbit!
I have owned 3 fitbits, none of them worked consistently and all 3 lasted less than 2 years before becoming completely unusable. The last two that I owned just suddenly stopped being rechargeable. The best that "customer service " can do is offer 35% off on another Fitbit purchase. They could offer 75% off and I wouldn't waste my money on another one. Everyone I know who has purchased a Garmin tracker or watch has been very happy with it. Fitbit has been in business for years and still hasn't figured out how to work out the kinks and offer a better product. To me, this says that they don't care about customer satisfaction.
After 6 year of purchasing Fitbits top of the line product. I had to use the warranty of my Fitbit Ionic that I bought 4 months ago. I submitted all the information that Fitbit asked for. Later that day I received an email that they sent out a Versa 3 as the replacement. The Ionic valued at $300 and the Versa 3 values at $229. Their response is that the Ionic is discontinued and the Versa has more functions. I don't understand how a company feels that they can send you a lower valued product as a warranty item. I have been trying to get an equal valued item for the last week. Every time I call, they tell me I will get an email within 24 hours. I just want people to know how their warranty works prior to you making the same mistake I did by purchasing their products.
Didn't work in water but advertised to when I contacted customer service they said I should make a suggestion for that? Worthless
Had 2 in last 3 yrs both failed shortly after warranty period, junk. My first one ate batterys had to chg almost daily. # 2 went blk screen both failed within 6 mos after warranty.
So I tried to get a refund because my package, that I paid overnight shipping for did not arrive in time. So I asked for a refund and the customer support agent Christine (very rude) kept copying and pasting the same robotic responses and did not help. So when I asked again for a refund since it was 2 business days since it was shipped, she copied and pasted the same respond and abruptly ended the live chat. Ridiculous and makes me NEVER want to buy from Fitbit again. This is my last watch from them ever again just for the bad customer service.
If you ever require customer support or service, condolences to you.
You will just be going around and around in circles trying to talk to all the different fitbit agents. The agents will escalate you to another team and you will not get any solution or help with your issues.
The product itself (when functioning) is great, but when you need to contact customer service, they will hang you up to dry.
I've had my fitbit break multiple times where the band joins the actual head unit, and they offered me a coupon that doesn't work to buy another FitBit. When I told them it doesn't work they said it was the ebst they could offer.
This is my 3rd fitbit as they keep breaking. Bad quality, too bad as i did like the app.
Moving on to the next option!
Fitbit customer service is soo bad. Out of the box the bands wouldn't click in and FB refused to send replacements. I just ended up returning it. Pure junk.
I've used Fitbit for years. I'm tempted to ask my husband for the new Fitbit Charge 5 for Christmas, but I have reservations. None of the Fitbits I've owned last more than a year or so. The only way to get a warranty is if you order from their website. But that warranty only lasts one year, which is set of their planned obsolescence. I can't leave a review on their website so I'm thinking I'll pass on the Fitbit 5. Customer service is lacking at best.
Over the past 6 years starting when the Surge Fitbit came out, I have had nothing but problems with their devices. Twice the Surge band fell apart within a year. They replaced one and then refused to replace the second one. Then I got a Versa, which lasted about 2 years which I actually was fine with. Then I had a Versa 2 that lasted less than one year. I then purchased a Sense, January of 2021. There were so many issues with it that the product had, I returned it and got the Versa 2. Less than a year later, it stopped syncing with my phone. Last Saturday they said that they were sending out a replacement for the Versa 2(since I had a warranty) after 2 hours of arguing with me. They assured me that it would be delivered in 2 to 3 days. NOTHING. Five days later, I called and they said that they could not track it at all. I insisted that they send me another one. They reassured me once again that I would have it the latest today (3 days later). NOTHING! I will NEVER purchase this product again. They don't care! AWFUL customer service and product!
I've had a bad experience with Fitbit ionic. It cost €340 so steep financial investment to start off with. My first watch had to be returned due to GPS malfunction. Second watch died after the warranty period expired. An offer of a 35% discount if I buy another Fitbit makes no commercial sense in light of the initial economic loss and the additional investment in a new watch. I'm cutting my losses and moving to Garmin.
I actually pre-ordered this item knowing better. First off, It's hot off the press, meaning the sales and marketing weenies held a gun to the heads of the engineers to release it to production before it was ready. I know; I've been there. First impression, it was elegant. There was no telling where the watch ended and the band began until the nice color display lit up. Second impression, the thing is functionally impossible to operate with a display of that size, at least for a guy with normal sized hands. This was my fault for not doing my homework, as this was my first fitness watch. And speaking of the band, I Hated it from the start, as it's a very cheap molded piece of silicone rubber that is nearly impossible to fasten with one hand. I won't get into details, but the watch was very erratic in operation, switching modes seemingly at random. Things like brightness settings resetting spontaneously, menu selections that led to dead ends, etc. What a disappointment. I've returned it, and to their credit, they didn't hassle me. I bought a Chinese replacement for one quarter the price and, so far, have been very pleased with it.
I purchased a brand new Fitbit Charge 5 for $180 and I've haven't been able to use it because they don't know what's wrong with it. I received it on 9/24/21 since I preordered it and it's just a $180 paperweight. They don't even know what's wrong and it's been 4 weeks! DO NOT BUY!
FITBIT went downhill after I purchased my FITBIT Blaze. At first, it was great! It synchronized with my phone app. Then later I have so many problems that FITBIT officially left a bad taste in my mouth. I will no longer purchase a FITBIT, nor recommend them
Below are some of the problems that I encountered.
CALLS. My Fitbit used to sync to my phone and I would get notifications on WHO and WHEN I was receiving a call. Then it just STOPPED… The point where I kind of relied on that service, to just randomly no longer works… I tried all troubleshooting procedures only to dig deep in forums stating that FITBIT permanently disabled that service for my FITBIT…Why….?
SYNCHRONIZATION. Now, no matter how many times I try to force the sync between my Fitbit and phone. FITBIT will only sync when it wants too, deeming it useless
LOCK-OUT. My account would randomly log me out! I would get logged out so many times, that it became a nuisance to check the FITBIT App
APP. Fitbit made so many changes to the App that I no longer bother with it. So the intent of what I originally purchased the Fitbit for, has now become an expensive CASIO watch on my wrist.
