I have owned two Fitbit trackers and both ceased to function after a couple of years. The only solution offered by the company was to purchase a new tracker although they do provide a discount.
Frankly, offering a discount for a product that only lasts 1 to 2 years is an insult to customers. Why not make a product that actually works for a reasonable amount of time!
I am now shopping for a different product and I would certainly suggest that a Fitbit tracker be avoided at all costs.
Had connection issues from the very start. Bluetooth capabilities also unstable cutting on and off. Tried contacting customer service and they were of no help, all they said was lot of customers having same issue. I returned it and got an iwatch. Very disappointing experience.
Fitbit Charge 3 screen failed after nine months. Second tracker in a row to have same fault. Unsympathetic customer service offered new charge 5 for £125 when £110 on Amazon. Then refused to reply. Obviously built to fail. Buy a cheaper Garmin Vivosmart!
This is my second Fitbit and I will never buy another one. The brightness on my Fitbit 3 screen kept getting lighter and lighter until one day I couldn't see anything. I went online to troubleshoot and tried what was recommended but it didn't change the problem. When I called customer support the person walked me thru the same steps I already tried. He then told me that he would have the warranty department contact me. I received an email offering me 35% off a new Fitbit. No explanation for what the problem was and why it happened. Why would I want to buy another Fitbit. Never again. Very disappointed.
I ordered a new band for my FitBit Charge 4 from FitBit's website and it hasn't arrived (11 days late at time of writing). I contacted FitBit's customer service and after waiting 2 days for a response (they "escalated" my case when I initially called them) they acknowledged that my order wasn't being shipped but since FedEx had received the order from them, I was going to have to take it up with FedEx.
I try to avoid them, but I decided to get a new band from Amazon (for half the price) and it actually arrived.
Ordered a FitBit Charge directly from FitBit. It never arrived. Begin the endless battle trying to get a refund or replacement. Their notification emails clearly state Fed Ex delivery. Their argument to PayPal was repetitive submission of UPS tracking # that, when input to UPS system shows "invalid."
If you are going to order one of these devices, (and after reading all these reviews, maybe think again), get it on Amazon or some other vendor with reliable CS and shipping, and far better response to issues.
As most probably know, the ionic watch was recently recalled. However you cannot combine their 40% discount in their own sthey're on store on the mother day discount ultimately leaving you only $20 better off than anyone else who is a first time buyer. They have done absolutely nothing about all of the accessories that I purchased for my ionic, Charger's, wrist band's, screen protectors. On top of those being issues you can only use the 40% discount on a couple of items. Was better off on eBay for smaller cheaper prices than what ionics offering. Not only that you cannot use any of the ionic parts on your new watches they are not compatible. Customer service could care less about meeting a disappointed customer. The only thing that I was going to get with the 40% discount was the scale which is not one of the items that is eligible. I'm done with fitbit. You might as well save your money for something more useful that you can do all kinds of things with like the android or Apple watch. With those you can usually get for free on promotion through your cellphone provider.
I only wore my fit bit now and then, which may account why I am not in better shape. That being said, there is no excuse for a fitbit worn maybe 30-45 days should die on the charger. I get it, the warranty is one year and the fit bit is 18 months. But it is obviously almost brand new. I am disappointed. I had an apple watch and found it too annoying, and promoted Fitbits to everyone. Now, not so sure. My apple watch is 5 years old and still kicking. Maybe I just invest in another apple watch. Not so expensive vs. 5 fitbits.
My Fitbit Versa 3 lasted a total of 14 months. It was working totally fine, and I charged it to 100% one morning. That evening it just didn't turn on anymore. I bought a new charger for it to rule out a faulty charger. The new charger didn't help at all. Contacted Fitbit customer service, and after exhausting their trouble shooting list, they offered me a 35% discount on a new fitbit. For a $300 (cad) watch to only last 14 months is unacceptable. The watch was never handled roughly or tested to anywhere near it's durability limits. Just simply garbage
My Versa Lite was working just fine until I installed the update. Since then I can't correct the time. I've googled and tried all of the suggestions. Called and talked to Fitbit twice. Apparently, my time issue can't be fixed. I've had my device almost two years. I believe that there should be a fix to my problem and I'm upset the update caused my issue. Not sure I want another fitbit because of the update caused the problem.
I previously owned two FitBit Ones and was very happy with them. This time I ordered a FitBit Zip as the Ones are now very expensive. I received it in January 2022 and it stopped working in April 2022. I went thru all the troubleshooting with the live chat and they concluded it's dead. They sent me an email saying it is out of warranty. I can't beleive they have so little faith in their product that they warrant it for less then 3 months. My advise is stay away from this product. They want me to buy another one at 35% discount. I told them if they can't backup their product for 3 months I will find a company that does. Not suprisingly I have not hear from them since.
The Fitbit Sense is not worth your money. I've had my Sense watch for approximately one year, and two weeks ago (04/12/2022) it stopped working. The screen went black, and no mater how much trouble shooting I conducted with Fitbit support, my watch would not reset or turn on. I reached out to the Fitbit support team several times with very little feedback from them, other than you will receive an email from the warranty department; after contacting support for a third time, I finally got an email from the warranty department (while on the phone with support). The email stated that I needed to purchase a new watch, because the repair is outside of their warranty, although I purchased an additional warranty when I bought the Sense watch. I was also told to use the 35% off discount that was included in the email, when I buy a new watch. REALLY! Why should I spend more money on an item that I purchased in good faith thinking that it would work properly. Additionally, I purchased the warranty to prevent me from having to spend more money in the event something like this happens. I'm really disappointed that this is how the Fitbit company treat it's customers. I have been a loyal Fitbit customer, and I've purchased several watches for my family members; however, I will no-longer purchase Fitbit items, because they do not stand by their products. I guess I'm moving on to the Apple Family. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I purchased a Fitbit Sense device as part of a promotion that was advertising the inclusion of a 6 month Calm Premium membership subscription.
I consider this to have been false advertising because Fitbit not only failed to provide access to Calm Premium but also firmly and continuously refused to do so even after I had provided ample proof that my purchase was completed while the promotion was active.
There is a similar promotion occurring now:

I strongly recommend against buying this product. My experience is that Fitbit will not include what is advertised as "included" with their product. I no longer trust this company.
My family and I have been customers for over 10 years constantly upgrading from watch to watch (over 6 watches purchased). The latest watch we purchase the Sense only lasted for 4 months, but Fitbit did replace it, but they took over 30 days todo that. The issue is the watch they replace it with only lasted 8 months. There customer service was very unprofessional and said to me that I have other options. Meaning competitors to get their watch because they can only replace a watch once. Since Fitbit likes to take customers money and not give you a product that works they have lost one for life and yes I will go to another vendor who I hope will do customers right. These watches are expensive and DOES NOT WORK! It's stuck on just two displays. The actual time which want correct and the screen that you have to put in your 4 digit code to sync your watch to your phone.
After many failed attempts to register my Fitbit Ionic for a refund, I resorted to online chats, then to telephone calls but no one seems to care about dealing with this situation. I paid a lot of money for my watch, which I am now not supposed to wear for the purpose that it was designed for. Apparently, there have been cases of Fitbit Ionic batteries over heating, to the extent that they have caused skin damage to many users. Why aren't Fitbit actively seeking to assist Fitbit Ionic users to minimise such occurrences, when they are aware of the dangers to users? Trading standards are now involved, I hope they instruct ALL Fitbit devices to be recalled due to possible adverse health effects. Clearly they value profits ahead of people.
We have 3 fitbit ionics. One stopped charging just after the warranty expired so we bought another one. We recently got emails for a recall on both mine and my wife due to a battery defect. Customer service was beyond incompetent. They refunded my wife's but cant seem to locate anything for mine as Ive already completed the registration for the recall. On top of this they have no clue how to refund my wife's original ionic watch that stopped charging after a year. Every time I call the number provided the CSR's put me on hold and then hang up after long waits. I even spoke to two different supervisors who did the same thing. The place is completely and utterly in shambles... its a easy fix and they're only solution is to call the number that ive already called 6 times which is the same contact number for the centre they work at. Nobody there has any clue what theyre doing or even what department theyre in. I called the number allotted to for the recall and he people who answer have no clue about the recall and keep provided the same number Ive been calling. The recall is the least of their problems... complete mess.
For my birthday, my family got me a Charge 5 to help me track my health stats and to give me a way to monitor my heart. I am trying to stay true to my New Years' resolution to lose weight before the summer.
Only a few hours after setting it up, it crashed. I booted it up with the charger and a few hours later, it shut down again. This occurred several more times before I decided to call customer support to get a replacement. They sent me a shipping label and shipped it out on February 15th. Today is March 22nd and I still have not received a new Fitbit or a refund. I have called them 3 times to see if they could help a customer who spent +$100 on a broken product and they refused to help. They offered no credit to my account, no refund, or a replacement for my inconvenience.
This will be the first and last FitBit me or my family ever buys and I will not ever recommend the brand to any of my friends. I recommend you do not consider Fitbit to provide you with the product you want because you will get a defective product that will cause you to lose your money and become frustrated. They also sold Fitbit's that were burning customers and had to be recalled (Fitbit Ionic). Is that really something you want to pay money for? Don't buy Fitbit! Look to Apple Watch or Garmin.
Great customer service! The post on the band of my fitbit 4 broke... I could not find the receipt. They replaced it immediately. Would love to see the design made a bit more durable in the future but other than that... great company!
I purchase a Fitbit Charge 5 a week ago. The battery drains very rapidly. I was requesting a replacement.
I did what they say, i charged it to 100% yesterday, and carefully check the screen always on were turned off, I even turned on the sleep mode to prevent the screen away during sleep time. Today's morning when I woke up, there was only 70% remaining. I did not use any features during my sleep time and it lost 30% of battery, and the customer service agent called "This is NORMAL."
In total, I talked to 5 agents, including one MANAGER name "Danial H," all of them refuse to provide me a replacement. One of the agent told me if I recharge to 100% and turn off always on feature, and the device could last at least 5-6 days. I told the manager (Danial H), he refused to check the previous conversation record and told me that as a manager, he will not take responsibility of what the other agents said.
Daniel H refused to give me his last name and any work associated number. He also promised that there will be another higher manager will call me in 2 hour. No, I have not receive any calls.
These people in FITBIT DOES NOT CARE their customers and they lie.
Fitbit team is awful, terrible and whole bunch of lies. Stop Buying FITBIT NOW!
