The trees I ordered were fine. They arrived promptly and were in protective packaging. As a newer gradener I am finding the five or more deer that bed down in my grass every night, seem to like to eat anything they can find. If I were to get something again I would put extensive wire around all plants. Frustrating.
I purchased a lemon tree. Since purchasing last spring, it has lost about half of its leaves and not produced any new growth. I have fertilized with citrus tree fertilizer, and paid carful attention to sun and water conditions. It has flowered, and actually produced 2 small fruits, but they have remained the same size (walnut sized) and dark green for the last month. I am doubtful they will ever turn yellow and be edible. It's kind of the lemon tree that isn't dying but also isn't showing much promise.
I purchased Croton Petra in 3 gallon pot for $39.99. Should look good right? Wrong! Plant came in 3 gallon pot which didn't grow in that pot but was taken from 6'' pot(which should be different price, almost double less on site page) and thrown before shipping into a bigger pot. Very stressed, very small plant. I wrote a review but of cause it was not posted because it was not good enough. Just for example I bought from local store same plant( not shipping cost of $16.99 too) for $12.99. So the bottom line:
- not as advertised, don't trust site reviews
- complaints are ignored
- too expensive and on top you have to pay for shipping.
Same thing that everyone else who had this problem says. I bought the Miracle Berry tree and didn't even argue when the advertised price was incorrect and I ended up paying more. I also purchased the recommended soil, etc. The tree bloomed once and died although all my other plants around it were fine. I think I dealt with Pamela and Jennifer - unhelpful and refused to make it right.
Purchased a tree, bought a warranty just in case. Tree arrived, paid a professional tree company to plant tree. Within several months tree died, followed ALL recommendations provided to care for the tree. Reported to company, they are not willing to refund money, just offer an in store credit. What is the point of purchasing a warranty if i cannot get a refund. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
The trees should come in black dirt, not mulch. Out of all the trees I have purchased I have two living
Bought 38 Cyprus trees, and the one year warranty. 7 of them died. Emailed them to get the dead trees warrantied, and they're been dragging their feet, and refuse to send replacement coupon, even though they have said warranty is approved. First sent them email in July, claim to have resent, but its hasn't arrived. Reminds me of checks in the mail game. Warranty is a rip off, don't bother with it.
70-100% death rates green thuragas all dead. Willows 1 of 4 survived. Guess no good for higher altitudes
Bought 20 of the Leyland Cypress for over $300. A few weeks later all but 6 were dead. Contacted customer service and even sent pictures. They wanted me to pay another $60 to ship out replacements or buy an extra warranty for $80. Horrible!
It is sad you the consumer not only have to pay for a guarantee but also shipping charges. Purchased a peach tree for $80.00, which arrived bare root, planted it the leaves fell off, watered it but the tree eventually died. For the $28 fee to warranty the tree they would replace it & shipping cost of $30. Also if it needs to be returned you have to pay that shipping cost also. So it would cost me an additional $58.00 to replace the tree making it a $138.00 small peach tree. Decided not to bother, bought a peach tree from a local nursery, guaranteed for 2 years at no cost, threw in 2 bags of soil. And is very healthy and engineered for your zone. Extremely dissatisfied with this site. Also be very careful especially if you live in FL that your tree is compatible with the growing zone in which you reside.
I would go to local landscaping company or Home Depot by the time your done with fast growing trees between fees and no returns not worth it
Opened the boxes to find sickly infested plants. Contacted them and they just told me what to buy and how to nurse them back to health. They were expensive and not worth the money. I don't recommend Fast-growing-trees.com. Steer clear.
It's a coin toss if your tree will be alive when you receive it and if it isn't, too bad. Customer service will not do anything about a dead tree.
I bought 4 Japanese Maple trees that were supposed to be 4-6 feet for $300. I also bought insurance. Four trees arrived in one skinny box. These trees were minute, damaged and two were out of their dirt containers. I called the company immediately and was told to take pictures. I took pictures and sent them back. No answer from them fir several days so I again contacted them. They said my pictures were inconclusive. They asked for more pictures. I again took and sent pictures. No word for many days. I contacted them again and they said it looked like the trees had a chance but if I wanted to send them back I could do so at my own expense. I argued that I had purchased the warranty. I asked what the warranty covered. I answer. I contacted them again and was tolld that they would pick them up but charge me a 25% restocking fee. I again pointed out that I paid extra for insurance. After 5. More days I have had no word from them and they have not picked up the plants that are totally dead. What kind of a business is this? Obviously a SCAM.
I bought Azaleas, Rhododendrons, and a Knock-Out rose as my first order. When they arrived, one of the Azaleas had some damage and did not look very good. I blame this on the delivery service, not Fast Growing Trees.
I contacted Fast Growing Trees and a replacement was sent out - had it in three days! This one arrived in perfect condition and was planted with the others.
Every one of these plants is growing beautifully; and, next year, they are going to be beautiful when the blooms come out.
Near the end of May, I ordered two Kousa Dogwoods. They arrived a little bit stressed (by then, our temperatures were already in the 90s), so I put them in the shade and gave them some water. A few days later, planted them and continued to give them water daily. For whatever reason, one of the Kousa Dogwoods did not survive.
I contacted Customer Service to let them know. I spoke with Autumn (who was great!) and she took care of everything for me. Another tree is on the way and I know it will be in excellent condition because they really do have quality merchandise - better than I can find anywhere around here at our local nurseries.
I recommend Fast Growing Trees to anyone looking for trees, shrubs, or whatever you might need for your garden. As far as I am concerned, no one can beat them for quality!
On 12/26/18 I ordered two 4'-5' tall AVOCADO TREES. They arrived on 12/31/18. We planted them immediately and placed them in a 13' x 6' window in our living room. Very shortly after they bloomed. Both plants slowly defoliated and grew new leaves. However, one of them only grew new leaves on the bottom portion of the tree. I noticed the top portion of the trunk was starting to dry out. I contacted Fast Growing Trees to tell them that I purchased to 4'-5' trees and now I have one 2' tree and wanted a replacement.
I was informed I should have purchased the warranty. They would be happy to charge me $40 to then give me a credit for the one tree. I told them I would keep my trees and let everyone know they do not stand behind what they sell.
Buyer Beware! Shop somewhere else!
I bought a 5 in 1 apple tree, planted it same day as it arrived and woke up to see fungus on multiple leaves. After contacting them and informing them of this I was advised to spray fungicide. Not acceptable. After spending $150 + warranty I expected more. Not only do I have to dig the tree out, now I have to proceed in treating the surrounding area.
Call this a 6 in 1 apple tree. Next time just tell your customer you'll throw in the fungus for free so at least they're aware.
Do not order from these folks spent $350 on plants three died when ask to replace they just keep ignoring request till insurance lapses
Fast Growing Trees Review 06/06/2019
First I purchased two peach trees. When they arrived I immediately called them and ask why they even ever bothered to send the one that looked dead on arrival. Reply, give it a chance, you have insurance. After a chance I called them back and and did the entire send pics, etc and got an Email that said that they would be in contact within 24 hours. Not a word. I think that they mean was NEVER... Then I purchased blueberry bushes which seem to be doing fine, so is the Lilac, wait that wasn't a FGT it was purchased LOCALLY. But the Dogwood tree, not a leaf on it... You should see my neighbors peach trees, they're loaded with blooms. < ALL LOCAL
Here's my thoughts on Fast Growing Trees, BUYERS BEWARE, BUY LOCALLY.
Answer: Cancel your order now before it's too late, go to a local nursery and save yourself some money and unwarranted aggravation, these folks are not honorable.
Answer: I ordered 3 autumn blaze maples. They have been in the ground for 2 years now and have yet to turn red in the fall. I did some research and found that they only turn red if the temperature conditions are right. I live in Idaho and we basically skipped fall this year and went straight into winter. So once again the leaves just turned brown. I am hoping to finally get a display next year.
Answer: The same thing is happening to me. My tree died and they keep saying they're going to make good and nothing happens. Real crooks, this company.
