I re-potted it a couple of days after receiving (used perlite, cactus soil and potting mix) and brought it inside my house by the south/west facing window as the weather is starting to hit low 40s. I am seeing growth at the same time a lot of leaves are falling out. Is this normal? The fast-growth packet I bought with it, never mentioned about how much, so I used the whole thing at once (hopefully I did not damage the plant).
I am looking forward for it to fully bloom and thicken...

I placed my second order with Fast Growing Trees this year for a camelia plant and climbing hydrangea. I ordered the largest hydrangea (high price) possible and it was adequate. The site pushed a camellia on sale and so I ordered one. It turned out to be a stck barely over 12 inches tall for $30. Shortly after, the gardener must have bumped it in watering near its temporary pot I had it in pending permanent planting and the skinny top broke off. So I have a plant less than 12 inches tall with no sign of growth. Afterwards, I found a gorgeous, big, blooming camellia at my local nursery for only $50. I can't even imagine where to finally plant this teeny little camellia. I had a similar experience with a Little Gem magnolia that I have had to baby to see any sign of growth. Bottom line, I would go to your local nursery unless you don't have one and have a whole lot of patience and time to wait to see the more expensive and small plants grow.

I was a little dubious in purchasing this tree because we live in zone 9b in central California which is not the native habitat for this tree. I planted the tree next to a stand of tall Redwood trees which will provide afternoon shade and protection from the sun. It does receive a good amount of morning sun though. We really hope the tree likes where it is planted and does well. The tree is about 6 feet tall and is very healthy. I especially like the red fall leaves and look forward to seeing the tree flower in the spring. So far I am very happy with my purchase.

I bought 2 trees. The trees arrived in a box. They were fine. I planted them. Now they're outside growing. Only thing I'd call out is if I could go back in time and purchase again I would be sure to get the versions of the trees I bought which were a little more grown. In other words, i thought my trees would be like what I saw in the pics (fully grown). But bc I went w the smaller version at checkout I found out when opening the box that it meant I was buying the tree, but a recently sprouted tree. Like the trees have 3-4 branches max, and maybe 5 leaves. Whereas the actual fully grown tree will have 100's of branches and 1000's of leaves.
