I use Fabric.com all the time and never had a problem. Only bought one piece I didn't like, but that was my fault, not theirs. Good service. Prices aren't quite as good as they used to be, so shop around and watch for sales.
My wife ordered and paid for fabric from this company. Fabric.com's preferred carrier UPS lost the package. Instead of Fabric.com doing the right thing and refunding my wife her money, they told my wife to file a claim with UPS. This is not a normal business practice. The business standard is, they should be filing a claim directly with their preferred carrier, UPS in this case. Fabric.com should be refunding my wife her money. They will not answer my emails concerning this issue.
Watch out Fabric.com takes your money multiple times and gives you the run around about their procedures. I personally don't care about procedures. They charges my accounts 4 times for one purchase and all they can say is we will talk with accounting. DON'T BUY FROM THEM
I placed my first order with Fabric.com, only to find the exact same fabric for a significantly lower price (less than half of Fabric.com). Customer service was rude. Had they made the slightest effort to maintain my business (not matching price but small coupon, credit or something) I wouldn't have returned the fabric. Clearly, my business was not valued, going elsewhere..
If you are ordering fabrics for draperies be very aware that fabric.com will not guarantee that they will send the proper yardage in one piece. Then when you call for help they are very polite in telling you that you are out of luck and you can reorder. Will not be ordering from them again.
I've ordered from fabric.com several times in the past and have had no problems. However I recently ordered some purple backing flannel and ended up washing it with color Catchers 11 times before I felt like it might be safe to use it. I contacted fabric.com to let them know and indeed up having to contact them twice before I ever got a reply from customer service and then all I got was a form letter reply. I will take my business elsewhere in the future.
When I clicked "Submit order," I got an error message saying I needed to select address. I had only one there on file, so I was not able to get the order submitted. I got no confirmation email, no "thanks" for the order. Yet they charged it to my charge account. I am now struggling with Amazon Pay to get it refunded.
My only order though Fabric.com is not going well. Aside from being bombarded with email solicitations, 1. My order was never acknowledged, 2. My email inquiry was not answered. 3.My telephone call was met with hostility, 4. I was sent to voice mail when I asked to speak to a supervisor 5. My added $40 payment for one day delivery should arrive in 7 days. This company leaves lots to be desired. It's not for me.
I ordered 3 yards of a cotton knit in the color of magenta, I did not see all the
Dry rot holes in the fabric until I laid the pattern out. I will never order from fabric.com again.
Placed an order for 16 yards of fabric. Thankfully printed a copy of the order, since I had to call them nearly two weeks later to find out what was going on with it. They said they emailed me because they didn't have the full quantity I ordered (in one piece), and because I didn't respond in 24 hours, they canceled my order.
News Flash: I NEVER GOT AN EMAIL FROM THEM! They didn't try to call, either. Apparently, my email address they had in their system was missing the "gmail.com" at the end of it. So not only did their "system" accept this as a valid email address, it made no notice to anyone that their attempted order cancellation message to me was undeliverable.
So now my project is nearly two weeks behind, and I have to try to hunt down the fabric I need. Absolutely no effort on their part to rectify the situation - don't waste your time, would not recommend!
Don't listen, don't respond or if they do don't actually deal with the problem. My credit card doesn't work on their site. I must have entered the details wrong, not know my own address etc, etc even though I have no problems anywhere else. Have to use hubby's PayPal. Website said 14 yds available but turned out to be only the amount I wanted, 8.5yds but in 2 pieces. I must respond within 24 hrs or that part of order would be cancelled. I asked for more time to work out if it could be used as I don't like unnecessary joins. No response and they just sent the rest of my order anyway which I wouldnt have bought if I'd known the other was unavailable. Many other small annoyances in past but have had enough. Ordered from Jinny Beyer instead who are more expensive but service is excellent. Reading t h e other reviews must measure my fabric. Always count but don't measure.
No point calling their department customer service. Got an email that stated a $3 sample swatch could not be changed out on the order. Shocked, I called and was told not only that but I could not add and pay separately for an additional swatch because I used PayPal to pay. Is money not the same as money? Will take my orders elsewhere and thank you for not servicing me as a customer and have a wonderful day yourselves 'cause you're so precious!
I made two orders of faux fur from them, both around 3 yards. Not only did they take weeks to ship it out, both times the boxes arrived they were nearly falling apart. One of the boxes the side was ripped open! Luckily it didnt stain the fur but I cant beliebe theyd let a box ship out like that.
In the words of their customer service representative, "Unfortunately, we are not fabric experts at Fabric.com." The chat transcript speaks for itself. I attached the image of the chat to this review.
If I could post zero stars I would have. I purchased waterproof material. And pricy material at that over $20 a yard. I covered 2 small out door chairs. Well in one season the fabric molded. I contacted Fabic dot com and Im told this fabric isnt advertised as waterproof. Well then dont have that fabric come up when searching waterproof on your site orI wouldnt have purchased it! It even says laquer laminated. What would that mean to you?!?!?!
I received my order of 12 yards of fabric (worth of $115) 6 months ago but didnt open the box right away, as I am a busy mom of a toddler who has no help during the day. So I opened it a couple of weeks ago when I finally got time to sew my curtains, and I was shocked! I received the fabric not in a solid roll, but in six cuts of different length, and even the longest ones were not enough for the height of my windows! I have no use for this!
I requested a refund, or fabric replacement in one piece.
They got back to me without any apology at first, saying that they ship fabric in one piece unless its more than 8 yards, then they may send it in two pieces. Also, they said they were unable to accept a return because its been more than 30 days.
I emailed back asking to send me replacement fabric or at least punish the person who was responsible for packing, and got no answer.
I contacted Amazon, they said they would reach out to the seller.
The fabric. Coms representative sent me an email after that apologizing, stating they no longer have the fabric (right, you probably sent me the remains of your stock in 6 little pieces) and offering $30 credit in their store. Oh, thank you for your generosity! I spent $115, I will never ever shop at your store again, and you can keep your $30. I feel I became a victim of a bad joke twice, 1st time when some bad person packed the chopped fabric for me, and 2nd when their representative offered me $30 credit in their store. In the end no one got punished.
I called Amazon again, and was told they couldnt do anything else at that point.
My mistake was I didnt open the box and didnt check it right away, because that never never happened in my 15 years experience shopping online in the US. Why would I be suspicious of the order? I assume people fulfill their responsibilities and have human and professional ethics.
Please, dont ever shop with the dirty company, I hope my disappointing experience will save your time and money.
Ordered a large amount of material from them, which arrived on a roll. When I unrolled it, there was a repeating stain on the material down the length of the roll. Emailed them asking how they planned to fix the situation and never heard back. Don't bother with this company as they send you stained material and then ignore you.
I wrote to fabric.com before purchasing 140 yards of sheer voile to make sure the fabric had no feeder holes in the selvage from the mill process as these would be visible in the curtains i was planning to make.
I was told there were no hole so went ahead with the purchase (costing $600).
When the fabric arrived not only did it have holes in the selvage but an inch onto the actual fabric which has then torn runs through the entire width of fabric. I unrolled the entire bolts and there are holes, tears and runs right through it.
Fabric.com were willing to give a refund on the fabric but not the shipping $128 not pay for the return shipping which because I am not a company was going to cost more than the value of the fabric.
I would never have purchased the fabric if they had been truthful. I will not purchase from them again as this fabric is in terrible condition and should never have been sold in the first place.
There is a customer rep named Brenda and she cuts you before even you can communicate or finish your sentence. I thought customer reps are supposed to listen and help you and not treat you with rude behavior. I experienced this twice! Great fabrics for sure but they really need to look into their quality of "customer care".
Answer: Hawthorne Threads is great.
Answer: Im using them for almost a year but no more... they keep sending me 25 % discount almost every week to gain me back... NO WAY! Yeah i order atleast 2,000 each order... total loss for them... until now they still awe me money for the fleece fabric i order long time ago, when i order it it has 50 yards of it, after 10 days they gonna tell me its out of stock, waited for replacement, until now no replacement... i got a lot of horrible experience with this company,,, dirty fabric that looks like somebody use it to rub on their body... really really sucks!
Answer: My business is making curtains. I have dealt with this company for the past two years and I think the customer service department is doing the best they can with trying to making it look like the company has it together. They do not have it together at all. There is no excuse with the volume of business that they do that they cannot afford a system that can tell you immediately an item is out of stock. I cannot tell you how many times I have purchased fabric from this company only to learn three days later that it is not in stock. Then they hold the rest of your order for another three to four days after you answer an email telling them to continue to ship the rest of the order. I have had fabric arrive to me balled up in a box that they didn't even bother to put in a bag, I have had fabric with shoe prints on it in the middle of the bolt or pieces of fabric missing from a ten yard order that were cut out of the middle of the ten yards. I am trying to eventually not use this company at all anymore as they don't have a clue as to how to treat customers or just don't care. The only problem is they have run all of the mom and pop online fabric stores out of business with lower prices (this was maybe two years ago) and the smaller businesses couldn't keep up with them so they closed. Now that they have the market they have raised their prices because they have very little competition out there. If you leave a good review for this company you are one in a million that have had a pleasurable experience. Just because you bought from them once and don't have a complaint means nothing, consider yourself lucky.
Answer: It's a US website, so they'll take the money in US dollars, but if they take orders from Australia your bank or payment processor will have to convert the currency according to the current exchange rate and I think they may also charge a fee for doing this.
Answer: Thank you so much for your inquiry. Please feel free to send your contact information to [email protected], and I would be more than happy to forward it to the appropriate people.
Answer: You would have been better off contacting fabric.com directly. It doesn't look like they even know about this website.
Answer: I would call or email them, including as much detail as you can... order #, what fabrics were ordered and approximately the time of the order. Have never had this happen to me from Fabric.com, have from another online site and was lucky that I got the help I needed. Good Luck.
Answer: As a customer of theirs, almost an ex-customer of theirs at this point, I can honestly say they have made absolutely no changes for the better in my case. They have paid absolutely no attention to any of my issues with them, which is why I'm about to become a former customer.
