Expedia are scammer

If I could give them 0 star I would! Booked a flight with them and learned the day before I had covid, so I called them and they said I would get a refound no problem. Fast forward two months they tell me they have no record of telling me we would get a refund because their employee forgot to fill the document. They scam me from 1000$ and now they say there's no way I can get it even if it's their fault!

Theives and liars

They lied and charged us extra for a kitchenette, when the hotel had no such thing. Somehow the Doubletree hotels are in cahoots with Expedia.

I have never used their service but for the last few mths they have been sending me another mans personal information inc address email and even acc balance with itinerary. I contacted them to fix the problem but instead they said they will have to contact him. This is my cell number for 5 years and they cant stop sending me personal info for someone else even after i blocked them so i emailed acc holder and told both parties i will make all info public in 24 hrs if problem is not solved and was reassured it was until 5 mins ago when they call looking for him so if you dont want someone to cancel yur flights hotels and tske your money stay away from EXPEDIA im not posting pics right now but if this continues all personal info will be posted to twitter

I strongly recommend anyone to book direct with hotels and airlines - Expedia does nothing to assist when things go wrong, even when it is their own mistake. You end up having to deal with the individual businesses yourself anyway and Expedia holds zero accountability for themselves and customer service is useless. I will NEVER book through Expedia again. Buyer beware.

The actual hotel receipt I received was significantly lower than the amount I had prepaid to Expedia. Even though for 1 night I paid over $40 to Expedia than if I had booked directly through the hotel. I contacted Expedia by email - no response. Then online live chat and they "repeatedly" say their charge was correct as shown in the credit card. So, I gave up and file a charge back case with my credit card company. NEVER book with Expedia again, they are criminals. This company should be shut down, they are a scam I will also write this to BBB.

Awful

I always have problems with Expedia, easy to buy a ticket online yes, but as soon as there's any problem; a cancelation, delay. That is not even your fault, they're completely useless. I'm still waiting for a credit over $700 that they won't give me or let me use it. When I've tried to use it they said I could use but suddenly, the fare I saw online was doubled if I was to use the credit.
Another time my flight got canceled 5 times due to weather conditions and Covid, they didn't give any option just hanged up the phone over and over.
I have endless bad stories wit Expedia. The sad part is that I kept using it as I had the TD reward card and they always tempted me with points and unused credits that I 'could use'. They just have an awful service, I would have gin en them 0 stars but unfortunately, it wasn't possible

I booked a flight with Expedia, chose a price option showing no fee seat selection ( at a premium to the the first option) then had to pay the airline for the actual seat selection.
Called Expedia and got no resolution
The receipt you get from them is useless. I would suggest to all to screenshot every step of transactions with Expedia so they can't screw you!

Don't ever book anything with this company, They will charge you US funds even when you book in Canada.As for refunds, they will rip you off big time. I an still waiting for my refund from 3 months ago. Never again!

Customer $$$ taken like theft

For unforeseen reasons I was not on the first flight so the second one was canceled! The cost of the flight was kept by Expedia as well as west jet. Theajor companies earned free revenue by taking customers money for absolutely no services rendered. Stay away from Expedia and utilize a real travel arrangement company so your money is not swallowed up by constructive theft.

Expedia are criminals!

We spent 13,000 in flights, all premium seats, because I changed one flight, they bumped all flights to regular, charged me an extra 500 bucks, I refund on the other flights to go back to regular seats! THEY ARE THIEVES! They will now sell my premium seats to someone else at premium price!

I booked a hotel months ago and needed 2 king size beds for 5 people in Saskatoon got a email and they changed 2 king size beds to 1 king size bed, im furious and ask to get it changed and they wouldn't even asked for a free night they wouldn't do a thing maybe get people who know what they are doing instead of Foreign people that have no clue what thet are doing, No other hotels in Saskatoon or outside of Saskatoon because of a Concert, I would never book with Expedia again.

My flight disaster
August 23, 2022

I had booked a flight for my daughter and myself from Kelowna to Vancouver for Aug. 21,2022 with Westjet airline credits that I had with Expedia from a previous cancelled flight to and from Toronto during Covid. In order for these Westjet airline credits to be valid, I was told that I had to book the flight before Dec. 2021. So, I did. When I went to check in the day before my flight on Aug. 20,2022, I was unable to do so. I contacted Westjet, and I was told that I had to contact Expedia as the flight was booked through them. When I spoke to an Expedia rep, I was given the two ticket numbers (for myself and my 14 year old daughter), and was told to phone Westjet again and give them the ticket numbers. When I did, I was told that these ticket numbers were for my first initial flight for Toronto during the Covid period. The Westjet rep said that Expedia never re-issued the tickets to me for my Kelowna flight. I was absolutely shocked. The rep spoke with her superiors, and was told that I would have to pay an extra $380 per ticket for her to book me on another Westjet flight on Aug. 21. I HAD to be back in Vancouver the next day for an important medical appointment, so that is why I had booked our flights for Aug. 21. I was mortified. I am a single mom and did not have extra money to pay an extra $760 to purchase new tickets for my daughter and myself. I asked the Westjet rep what would happen to my airline credits through Expedia, and she said that if I did not book them now with her, that I would lose them. Because I could not afford the extra money, I was forced to let me airline credits go, and I had to book tickets for the EBus to take us back to Vancouver. It took us a total of 7.5 hours to get back to my house by Ebus, instead of the hour flight that I initially booked back in Dec. 2021. I will be telling all of my friends and family about my horrible experience with Expedia, and will NEVER book anything through them again.

After spending an hour repeating numbers and spellings over and over again with an Expedia agent who did not speak English well I finally succeeded in making the booking (or so I thought). The Agent provided me with an itinerary number and told me she would email it to me as well and I can also access it in my account. I have been spending two days with Expedia who will not provide me any information on the booking as their employee (the agent I spoke with) had made the booking under the wrong name and account. Meanwhile, I was charged and can not use my credit card to make another booking. They keep repeating the same over and over, "we can not look into this as we can not verify you because you are not giving the correct email, name, and phone number the booking is under. I was provided only the itinerary number which they will not give me any information on as they can not verify me due to their employee booking my booking under another name and account entirely while they charged my credit card.

To make a long story short, after two days of arguing the price of the tickets has now gone up by at least 1000$, I can not book anywhere else, and I do not have any recourse! Their system can only verify with the number and name on the account and no other way through the charges on my credit card can I find a resolution to this. I have asked for a supervisor to contact me but to no avail. One agent told me that they can't even open a complaint or supervisor request unless I am "Verified". I have provided the names on the ticket (my wife), the dates of travel, and the destination of the booking with my credit card number but yet I can not be verified. Lexi (the agent) you have created a hellish nightmare for me for which there is no immediate solution. You have cost me at least a thousand dollars so far and have taken away my ability to make any other booking. And all of this after I spent an hour painstakingly spelling and repeating the same thing 10 times and you still got it wrong! I have never seen any system so stupid that an employee's mistake can not be fixed or resolved in any other way!

The credit company will not even put a dispute on the charge as it is still pending. The airlines that the bookings were made with have no proof of any bookings and say it will take 3 days for "pending" charges to be withdrawn. 3 days that I do not have! Avoid at all costs this company that just does not give a damn. This company deserves to be boycotted until they fix their system and start giving a damn.

I am not going to post a picture of proof of purchase because it has my credit card information. I was charged $2,360.40 and $1,684.62 for a total of $4,045.02 and am still paying as the tickets that I wanted have gone up in price by a thousand dollars!

I purchased cancellation insurance with Expedia as I've done many times before and recently had to use it for the first time and I must say it is a complete waste of time and money. Expedia have not been helpful in any way. They told me to take it up with the Airline to get a refund, I spoke to the Airline and they said Expedia have my money not them, however they did say that According to their records my cancellation did fall with cancellation guidelines and in their opinion I should be entitled to a full refund. Expedia have denied me a refund although I have an email from them saying My flight was cancelled successfully. They provided a flight credit that must be used on the same Airline as my original ticket was booked. Which is not an Airline I'm likely to use anytime soon and the credit expires after one year. Do not use Expedia, hopeless.

I paid then over 6 k for flight and trip, all-inclusive, then due to covid, the flights were canceled, I called and was holding for 3 hours before the telephone got disconnected, then tried again only to have the same experience multiple times after 3 long hours getting cut off, I emailed and no replies, this is THE WORST service ever and they don't take care of clients, just take their money. Go elsewhere

Terrible customer service

We showed up to pick up our rental car rental in Honolulu to find out that the agency was closed on Saturdays. We had a morning reservation that we had to make and unfortunately couldn't seek out other rental companies. This forced us to take ubers across the island of Oa'hu and back - which cost well over the amount of the rental car. When I spoke with an Expedia agent the most they could offer us was a coupon and 25 USD for future use on Expedia. I was told this was the 'best they can do'- $25 isn't even close to the original cost of my booking and does nothing to help with the added Uber charges as a result of not having a rental vehicle because of Expedia error. Upon checking my Expedia account I discovered they did not even provide me the coupon the agent had mentioned merely the 25 credit. This is extremely disheartening as we are on our honey moon and my wife is absolutely devastated that we will be unable to make all our time sensitive plans for the day - on her first trip to the island. Expedia should have done more not only to rectify the issue but to prevent the issue in the first place. Had we known the the rental agency would have been closed we would have booked elsewhere. This error should not have happened - we should not have been able to book on a day that was closed.
