No allergy options
March 1, 2023

They lock you into meals and have you pay for them before you even know what you are getting. You also can't indicate any special dietary restrictions or allergies. They sent me a ton of stuff my family can't eat

No customer consideration
February 23, 2023

I consider(ed) myself a loyal every plate customer after having been with them for over a year and a half (they tell you how many boxes you've ordered when you call customer service and so when I called them today they were kind enough to tell me I've purchased 78 boxes (1/week minus times out of town)). Unfortunately I've had two of those boxes stolen from my porch. The first time it happened they informed me that they couldn't do anything about it since it was delivered so I ate the cost, but after the second time it happened and knowing I've spent over $3k with them (and would have continued to have spent $2k/year with them for the foreseeable future), the company still not willing to do anything outside of tell me sorry and ask if they could do anything else to help me today was the point at which I knew they were not the right mealbox choice for me. They weren't willing to show courtesy to someone who averages $2k/year on their product, even if it just equated to 1% of the total I'd spent with them. Another company with better appreciation of their customer base is worth a potential additional cost when I factor in the money I've paid them for products that were stolen. Every plate has left a bad taste in my mouth which is unfortunate for a mealbox company. I will be switching to a different option today and if you can afford similar or slightly more expensive services I recommend you take the customer service aspect into consideration and check out their competitors before signing up.

February 4, 2023

The box was slimey, chicken was stuck to the box, the veggies rolling around in it, packaging is horrible. Yall need to do better for the price people pay. Throw in some baggies to separate the veggies from the slime! Thx but no thanks!

Poor customer service
February 4, 2023

Extremely dissatisfied with Everyplate's customer service.

The order was sent to the wrong address and despite multiple attempts to rectify the situation through customer service, I have yet to receive a satisfactory resolution.

The customer service experience I received was very poor. The rep I spoke with was unable to assist me and/or give me credit for the delivery I paid for.

I find this very very disappointing as this is not your customer's fault that the package was delivered to the wrong address. All I was asking was to have the following week's delivery credited since the delivery for this week has already been paid for. This experience has been completely unacceptable.

As a paying customer, I expect to receive my order and proper assistance in the event of a mistake. I believe that better customer service and more effective assistance would go a long way in improving customer satisfaction and loyalty.

If you do care about your customers, you would treat them better when mistakes like this happen and the customer has to take the loss.

I do NOT recommend everyplate to anyone.

Tried it for 3 weeks
January 25, 2023

We tried everyplate for 3 weeks. We were on 4 meals for 4 servings weekly. The 2nd week 2 of the 4 meals I ordered no one liked. You get burnt out quick with the same meals basically every week with sauces that are changed. Rice, potatoes, and the same vegetables. Too much salt and.oil in every recipe. I found I can plan my meals for an entire week, get those ingredients delivered from the grocery store for half the price. The lazydish has great recipes and easy to use recipes.

I cook practically every night and I make a lot of trips to the grocery store and spend a lot of time planning meals and it's very time consuming! So I decided to give Every Plate a try. I have to say that my husband and I have been floored because every meal I have made from my weekly order has been super delicious and it's been very easy to follow the recipe directions. We look forward to getting our 3 recipes delivered along with the fresh ingredients and condiments. I have more time now to tackle other projects on my list since I'm not having to go to the grocery store near as often. Also we have found that the cost of the meals from Every Plate are a lot lower than what I was having to spend on food from the grocery store in order to cook my meals from scratch. In addition, getting meals from EveryPlate helps me with my meal PLANNING and now I am not having to spend a lot of time sorting through all of my recipes to decide what to cook! I never dreamed the food could actually be this healthy and delicious. I also wasn't sure how my meals would turn out but they look appealing and my husband loves eating them, as do I. Our hats are off to the meal planners/executive chefs at Every Plate! Thank you Every Plate!

The meals themselves were wonderful. Quality of the food I got, also wonderful. That's not why I'm here writing a review.

EveryPlate does a promotion where they tell you that you can send coupons to your friends. One is for you to send your friends a free box (and it is completely free) and the second option is to send them a discounted box (the discount applies to their first three boxes) and YOU get a 20$ credit for EACH friend who successfully orders a box.

That is how it is supposed to work. I recently called Customer Service and told them I wanted to cancel my subscription, mainly because I don't like how you can't pay for a box via a "pay now" button... you have to wait for it to come out as an ACH payment on a specific date and that was just too much of a pain to me considering I like to get it out of the way so that I know it's paid for and I don't have to worry about it anymore. I didn't like the idea of the money sitting in my checking account and another automatic payment for something else interrupting or taking my food box money.

Anyway, during that conversation the rep obviously tried to get me to stay. He offered me a 10$ credit on my account and said if I wanted I could just pause for a few months. I then asked him about the promotions they offer and he literally told me there was no such thing, they don't exist. I told him that was wildly untrue and he said "if you can provide me with a screenshot and email it to me, I would be happy to look into it." I felt like he thought I didn't have proof, but I did, so I emailed it but after he continued to tell me that they don't give out credits for having people sign up. So he received the email, saw that it was a thing, and proceeded to add a 20$ credit to my account as the promotion promised. Then I asked him, what about the other person I sent the promotion to? I had sent out two promotion codes and they both ordered boxes and both of them were listed on my app as claimed with their emails. He said you only get one 20$ credit no matter how many friends you have sign up.

I truly believe this man either had no idea what he was talking about or EveryPlate is just a freaking scam because if they really meant that the promotion of a 20$ credit for getting people to sign up was a one time credit of 20$ no matter how many people you got to sign up, they should have SAID that.

I wasn't happy at all. My opinion is that EveryPlate is trash and just another company that wants to screw you over. If you don't mind, go for it.

Trick you into subscription
December 20, 2022

They cheat you. You purchase once and they lock you into a recurring pay structure, and it costs a lot of money. They charged me $95 for a box of food I didn't want. They didn't tell me beforehand that they would do that and I called their support and they wouldn't offer a refund. A blatant scam and rip-off.

Lie after lie
December 3, 2022

One lie after another. I've never felt like I got scammed more than I do after this experience. First order was delivered with an unfrozen raw chicken bag open and completely coating everything in the box with salmonella. Was offered my next box free, but was then charged $130 for the next box. I contacted customer service and "Gigi" refused to do anything to correct the charge. I was told it could be used on my next box. After this, there will NOT be a next box. BBB case was opened today.

TERRIBLE COMPANY
December 1, 2022

I live in a larger town with all of the normal amenities and decided to sign up for EveryPlate because my sister uses it and enjoys it.
The website allowed me to sign up based off of my zip code with no issues, I set up my meal box, and I was charged.
Delivery day came and I did not receive a box so I called. I was told that it was only delayed and give it until 8pm. Still no box. I called the next morning, I was told to wait until 8pm of that day as well, still no box, even though their website and app showed that it had been delivered to my house. They seemed confused, told me there was some sort of mistake and they credited my account and assured me I would get my next box the next week.
The website and app says that shipping information is provided for each shipment, yet nothing was ever received.
The website and app say I do not need to take action with the credits, they will automatically be applied, yet it wasn't and I was still charged for the next box.
Time for the second delivery attempt, the app and website both show my box is delivered and also reflects that it's my second delivery. I have no box. I have porch, doorbell, and driveway cameras, so there was zero chance of theft.
Their office is closed because it's a weekend so I use their chat function and ask again about delivery notifications that are promised, but I'm only met with excuses. I ask about my second missed delivery and why I was charged even though I had credits, more excuses. Finally, I'm told that I never received my boxes because there are no available couriers in my area. Seriously? Zero chance to receive a shipment but I'm charged twice. I'm told its on the way twice. It is shown as delivered twice.
I received a partial refund and have been asking for days to talk to a supervisor to get the rest of my money back but am told they're always in meetings and have yet to get a call back even though I was told I would be called. This entire situation is a joke and unacceptable on every level.

They deserve 0 stars
November 14, 2022

I cancelled my subscription and got a confirmation email of my cancellation and then they still charged me for another unwanted week. They refused the cancel the order or give me a refund.

Then they argued with me very inappropriately and refused to transfer me to a supervisor, it was like I was talking to a robot, they were just saying the same thing over and over.

The food is just okay. All too often the meat blood/seafood would leak out into the rest of the box, which was gross. Too many potatoes.

EveryPlate is plagued with shady, dishonest tactics.

For one, there are items promoted in their internet materials that are not actually included in the packaging, and you only find out when you get the package itself. So that's extra time to go out, purchase the missing materials at added cost.

Second, when I visited the EveryPlate site, I noticed that every page on the website was working - except for the Account Settings page, the page you have to go to if you want to cancel your subscription yourself. WHAT A COINCIDENCE! I'm not buying it. EveryPlate deliberately sets up their website so that you can't cancel your account on your own, and you HAVE to go through their customer service system.

Other issues...

The packing was highly disorganized - I simply couldn't make heads or tails of which ingredients were to go with which meal, and I suspect some items were missing. (Beyond the items that are explicitly listed as not being included...).

Company materials also describe preparing a meal in 30 minutes, but a more reasonable estimate is 60-90 minutes. (The main draw for me was the idea of quick meals at low cost - this is NOT quick).

The problem with the prep time was enough for me to cancel my subscription. The shady practices are enough to ensure I will never do business with EveryPlate ever again.

The worst customer service
November 6, 2022

I ordered on a promotion. My order was delivered to someone else, an address I never provided. I had skipped my next couple of meal deliveries while I try the first box. Well contacted customer service, was issued a credit for my next order. That was on October 31st. I removed the skip for the following order. I went through the charges on my card and noticed I was charged on October 27th, while the account was on hold. Again I contacted them and a refund request was made for me and I was told I will hear back in 1-2 hours. No call back, so I reached out again and was told that the charge will not be refunded because I signed up with a promotion and my delivery come end of November will be free. This is not what I was originally told. The charge was fraudulent given the fact that the account was frozen when it was processed. Food was not great, requires a lot extra ingredients that I was just expected to have in my pantry and the amount of time shown to prepare a meal is way underestimated. Would never use this company again in the future! Stay away!

Go to another meal service that treats you better
November 5, 2022

They make it impossible to cancel orders within a reasonable time. My order delivers in 4 days but their customer service agents refuse to do anything. They actually just gaslight you saying "Why didn't you cancel it sooner, it is your fault." So customer service actually doesn't care to do customer support. In terms of the food, it's not too great. Most of the food is very unhealthy and takes a lot of time to make. My box was actually missing some veggies. Overall, disappointed with the customer service and the food itself.

I definitely would not recommend you use this service.

Not worth the money
November 3, 2022

Highly disappointed with Every plate because box was missing food and recipe cards even though checked thoroughly. I did call after 2 attempts and did finally get right recipes sent to me via email. They offer a coupon to try the service the first week and then price is more than triple the second week. The vegetables for most meals were just a pile of inexpensive carrots and potatoes. Some of vegetables were overripe. My Husband did not feel like there was enough food even though I ordered an extra portion. Customer service reps were kind. I have tried a few different meal kit companies prior. Prep time is underestimated. While I am an experienced cook who has been told I work very fast in the kitchen (extensive fast food service and higher quality restaurant/mass feeding experience) with prep, these recipes took a lot longer. Not worth it.

Poor service
October 28, 2022

I've been a customer for a while. They removed any way to submit feedback other than a phone call. 6 calls, all to the Philippines. Previously, I spoke with employees in the US. The 5th representative hung up on me after telling me he was in the Philippines. Calls are recorded. Apparently, they've removed any way to correspond with them or offer feedback, and outsourced their jobs (I can only assume). I'll pay more from a company that cares.

Bad experience
October 17, 2022

I tried EveryPlate, selected my meals and delivery date. I soon realized I had to change my delivery date to the following week. That being said I spoke with a representative to do so. No problem they said. Well I received my box and it was not the meals I chose. I call and let them know what happened. The guy on the phone was like well I can refund you the money or give you a credit to go back and order again. I chose the credit. Credit was not applied called back same day after being on phone for more than 20 minutes customer service said there was nothing they could do. No refund or credit.
