They suspended my account for 2nd time in about 3 months, no email received or notice, you must contact Etsy support who take a while ( a month) so far to restore even I fix the information that they need as a result. I delete all my item for sale. But they still charged the 0.20 cent. I did not have this problem years before. Thanks not Thanks.
I am beyond frustrated with Etsy's customer support and the way they've handled my store ban. It's been an incredibly disappointing experience.
Etsy has inexplicably withheld my hard-earned funds, leaving me unable to access them when I need them the most. What's even more disheartening is that I am currently battling illness, and these funds are crucial for my medical expenses and daily needs. It's incredibly frustrating that Etsy's lack of responsiveness is compounding the challenges I'm already facing during this difficult time.
I've been a loyal and honest seller on Etsy, ensuring that I fulfill all my orders and provide excellent service to my customers. However, my store was banned in what seems like a careless mistake on Etsy's part. I've tried reaching out to them multiple times, but they haven't bothered to respond. This lack of communication is unacceptable.
What's worse is that I've noticed many other sellers going through the same ordeal. Etsy is banning accounts without clear reasons, leaving sellers without access to their hard-earned money. It's a real slap in the face.
If Etsy thinks it's okay to treat its sellers this way, then fine. But I won't stay silent about it. I'll make sure to spread the word and warn others about the risks of using this platform.
Etsy, you seriously need to step up your game when it comes to customer support and fairness. This experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I wouldn't recommend Etsy to anyone at this point.
Ive had some success withEtsy, but when there is a problem there is no number to call and no way to get help.
Ive wasted an inordanate amount of time trying to find the right laction on the site to report a seller, who took my money, never sent the items and now doesnt respond to any follow messages.
I am so frustrated. Etsy is fine if all goeswell, but a nightmare if theres a problem!
Etsy, once known for its unique handmade products and genuine craftsmanship, is facing criticism for its questionable policy that permits customers to purchase the cheapest items from a store solely to leave fabricated reviews. This practice not only distorts the platform's credibility but also undermines the trust that shoppers place in the reviews section.
Etsy's foundation has been built on supporting artisans and creators, and encouraging authentic interactions between sellers and buyers. However, the loophole that enables customers to exploit the system by making inexpensive purchases just to leave fake reviews or low ratings without any explaination tarnishes this ethos. Such deceptive behavior not only misrepresents the quality of products but also hinders honest sellers from receiving the recognition they deserve.
Genuine reviews are vital for both buyers and sellers. Buyers rely on these reviews to make informed decisions about their purchases, while sellers depend on them to build their reputation and customer base. Etsy's leniency toward this unjust practice not only fosters a culture of dishonesty but also poses a serious threat to the integrity of the platform.
It is crucial for Etsy to take action and reevaluate its policies to ensure a fair and transparent environment for all parties involved. Sharing generic scripted messages with sellers expressing concerns is simply not acceptable. Strengthening review verification processes, and imposing consequences for those found engaging in fake reviews are potential steps that can help curb this issue.
In conclusion, Etsy's current policy of permitting customers to buy the cheapest items solely for the purpose of leaving fake reviews is deeply concerning. It erodes the authenticity of the platform, undermines the hard work of genuine artisans, and ultimately harms the shopping experience for all. It's high time for Etsy to prioritize ethics and integrity, making sure their policies reflect the true spirit of creativity and fairness that the platform that contributes directly to its financial success through the revenue brought in by artisan sellers.
Etsy has allowed this vendor to rip me off for over 400$ dollars. I paid for a product but have not received it. And now they say the window is closed.
Ordered an item, shipped from MD a week later its still in MD. As long as the seller responds etsy does nothing. Seller has 24 hrs to respond. They've responded 2 times and the item is still in MD?
Great place place to buy custom made product. I have ordered multiple times and every time I was very satisfied with the goods I received. I can recommend them.
I ordered a few tools for my kitchen - evething is new and durable, already 2 months working smoothly, thanks!
I ordered a couple of t-shirts from somebody that turned out to be overseas in Turkey of all places. When did arrive tire? There was in a ragius amount of duty in taxes owing so I refuse delivery. I've still not received these items or a refund for the order.
Do not shop on this website unless you're absolutely 100%. Sure that the goods originate in the same country that you are in.
I use platform to sell on Etsy. I had some complains about sometimes my products is ban for any reason, but its ok I give then 3 star.
Etsy.com was once a thriving haven for artisans and creators, a virtual marketplace where the essence of handmade craftsmanship thrived. As a loyal seller for over 12 years, I've witnessed its transformation from a nurturing platform into a disappointing shadow of its former self.
Gone are the days of genuine handmade treasures. Etsy now masquerades as a champion of artisanal excellence while harboring a dark secret: the majority of products labeled as "handmade" are nothing more than mass-produced items churned out overseas. The platform's supposed commitment to authentic craftsmanship has become a mere marketing gimmick, leaving dedicated sellers like me drowning in a sea of inauthenticity.
The recent changes have been nothing short of catastrophic. Sellers are coerced into maintaining an around-the-clock virtual presence, all for the privilege of flaunting a viral badge on their shop. This push for constant engagement disregards the fact that many sellers have lives beyond the screen, demanding an unrealistic level of dedication that undermines the very essence of creativity.
Etsy's obsession with homogenizing pricing is equally troubling. Sellers who pour their heart and soul into crafting unique handmade items are now forced to slash their prices to match the cost of mass-produced imitations. The platform's blatant disregard for the value of true craftsmanship is a slap in the face to artisans who once flourished within its walls.
And let's not forget the ever-escalating fees. As if gouging sellers' profits wasn't enough, Etsy has taken a sledgehammer to what little control sellers had left. Policies that promise fairness and protection evaporate into thin air when actual issues arise. Attempting to reach out to Etsy's customer support is an exercise in futility, with days passing before receiving a generic, irrelevant response that only adds insult to injury.
Etsy's claim that the average seller income hovers around $250 a year is a grim reflection of its disregard for the livelihoods of its loyal creators. This abysmal figure is celebrated by the very platform that once held promise for artisans seeking a viable income source.
In its prime, Etsy was a beacon of hope for artists and creators. However, those days are long gone, replaced by a soulless corporate machine driven by profits and ruthless policies. For sellers like me who once believed in Etsy's mission, the platform's downfall is a bitter disappointment. It's clear that Etsy's evolution has left true craftsmanship and creativity in its wake, shattering dreams and tarnishing the legacy it once held dear.
The hidden fees, no response for emails. They'll suspend your account and withhold your money and you'll be talking to bots when you try to get in contact with support. Please look up all the reviews that are recent! Don't sell through Etsy! They're terrible! Save yourself the hassle! I'm STILL waiting for my money and it's been 3 months!
The three things I ordered are beautiful and sturdy. The print has a very nice frame. I wasn't expecting such great products. The hat is perfect! I love the way the sewing on it turned out!
I decided to buy a watch from the company ResinOliveWoodWork
I paid 200euros, they never shipped the product and never reimbursed me. The support from the marketplace is also powerless and even worst they don't allow to put a review on their platform. It's a total scam where bad sellers are protected by the marketplace itself.
As you can see on the screenshot. They say they will reimburse me but never did (after 3 month telling me they will).
The seller claims to be based in my country or i wouldnt have bought from them. Their email says my item will arrive in over a month, but they provide no tracking #. Etsys automated system won't let me communicate with anyone at etsy until the day after the shipment is due. What is going on? Why is a month out considered acceptable/normal to the system? I'll never use etsy again. Hopefully I get my item since my money is tied up for this whole time.
I've been selling on etsy on and off for the last 10 years. I recently opened up a shop 8 months ago. A true achievement, as it was doing very well, and I put a 110% into it. Reaching over 100 listings, I typically lose interest in many things but This was something I was proud of. In the beginning of July, I received an email from etsy stating my shop was suspended. At the end of the back and forth emails from the automated system, they stated "we can not disclose why we closed down the shop".
To contact someone on etsy is a headache. The fees, the buyers, the layout, personally I'd make ur own website. As you spend so much money on marketing for the shop you are marketing etsy as well. I spend alot in just using their ads. Marketing my shop but marketing etsy because people shop around, etsy is no help if you need them. You will be talking to a robot, or be talking to people who don't understand what you are asking. Spend the time and open ur own website, you'll have way better results.
Trust me. If you purchase from Etsy online you will regret it. And that is a fact. Terrible customer service. Lousy company.
Ordered item from seller sell said shipped but never arrived tried to push help button but just hoes to sales again. This company is not good
This platform is simply a place for bad morons to scam people. I'm sure there are some legit artists, which is a shame because I REFUSE to use this company anymore. I was completely ripped off purchasing a $105 "sterling silver" bracelet that chipped 6 months later - IT'S NOT SILVER, ONLY PLATED So, since Etsy's "review policy" SUCKS so bad (you only have 100 days, anything can stay together for 100 days!) I'm telling you here - DO NOT BUY FROM Etsy and do not buy from Sakar Jewelry in Baltimore MD.
I made the mistake of selling on ETSY. The first experience with them was a customer bought my product and ETSY promptly cancelled the sale and closed my store without explanation. I appeal this decision and after 3 month and many email they told me they did not why my store was closed They reopened it and said sorry. Next sale went a bit better I was actually able to sell the item and shipped it the next day. They charged me twice for shipping and then marked the item I sold as being late to ship because I did not provide tracking info. I bought the shipping label from them and on my dashboard it shows that the item was not only shipped but that it was delivered and ETSY still insists that it has not been shipped. AND they have still not refunded the double charge. Then after telling me my payment would be deposited after their outrageous fees were deducted they informed me that they would hold my payment for 90 days I have done $1000 dollars in sale and have still not received one payment. So please don't waste your time on ETSY they are at best a disaster to deal with they fail at every turn. I have removed items from my store and I hope to be paid sometime in the future if they feel like it
Answer: Check the reviews, and Google the seller. Also, are the reviews written in good english? Does it seem fake? Check pictures from the buyers.
Answer: I would have to say no, with LOTS of exceptions. In the past few years Etsy has allowed business to claim handmade if it meets certain criteria. I often see many items that claim to be handmade but I have seen them on Alibaba being sold in bulk. That being said I look very closely and have purchased some wonderfu items from great sellers. The biggest problem with Etsy is that they no longer protect customers from fraud (they say they are not liable) but in doing that lots and lots or resellers and counterfeit items have saturated Etsy' s marketplace. I would never buy anything "vintage" there. What I have seen you are getting thrift store rejects or modern fake. Buyer beware! Investigate all vendors carefully!
Answer: I am agree with Ramina. 90% is not hand made. All comes from Factories. When someone has over 8000's item don't you ask who made it. They are all over from Pakistan to turkey east to west up united state. Etsy is happy just to take your money and every 4 or 5 months closing one store to show off and if you have some money as a credit they take it too. No customer service, no respect no manor, they made policy just for FUN and they have FUN with our pocket. Stay far from them FAR FAR.
Answer: I agree with Steve J on this one. A lot of sellers on Etsy work from home in the evenings for extra money. Most of them are not big businesses with massive inventories so I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Give them a little more time and if they dont send it out then file a case with etsy
Answer: Business checking isn't necessary (the banks now charge a monthly fee for a small business checking). You can pretty much set up a regular checking account
Answer: I believe this depends on each seller. Etsy is simply a platform for sellers, and often does not have any direct involvement with orders short of processing the payment. Certain items cannot be returned for safety and hygiene reasons, and sellers can refuse to do anything other than exchange. Contacting Etsy may or may not change the results.
Answer: If you do, I would be cautious about ordering from international sellers, use a credit card in case you need to contest the charges, and do NOT expect ETSY do a thing if you get ripped off. They are useless and could care less once the sale is final.
Answer: I have bought a number of items through Etsy and with great success. I had only one negative experience and Etsy took are of that. I recommend Etsy wholeheartedly.
Answer: The best and quickest thing to do is to email the seller and let them know that you would like to return for a refund.
