I ordered 2 separate orders of a painting of HOUSE pictures with my Client's names along the bottom.
Day one first 2 orders:
The first Painting [picture in Frame] was correct. Right size painted and landscaped - YEA
The second was almost correct, the picture was smaller because they made the portrait which made the house very small but used it.
Day two and weeks later and after I finally received the first two orders, I was more careful trying to order the third and fourth to be like like the first order.
The third order was on a piece of wood 8x10, with no names and wrong size everything was large - just wrong

Had put a lot of effort into making an online store and even making a few sales. After 2 days of being open Etsy closed my store permanently. Reason? I provided them with a bank statement instead of utility bill for address proof. I explained I can get a utility bill but no the decision was already made and I can not get a reply from them. No warning, no reasonable explanation or willingness to help, no explanation as to what happened to the sales. Nothing. Disgraceful behavior from Etsy. Will use another platform instead - my mistake for not checking reviews before!
Items are too cheap and etsy commission is more, hence seller get less price and send low quality items. Worst return policy. At the end you are locked with your money.

Hello all - If I could give ZERO stars to Etsy I would! I had a shop set up on Etsy to sell homemade candles that I make in my home. As I am not tech-savy, I asked my daughter to help set it up for me - she lives in Florida & I live in Tennessee. After the account was set up and my products were advertised, a purchase was made. This individual spent $44 in my shop, of which I was supposed to receive $30 in revenue after the items were received. The items were received by the purchaser and I was supposed to receive the funds the following week. Apparently there were fees owed adding up to $5 - which were paid shortly after I was aware that they were owed., however I still did not get the revenue from the sale. Then I get a notification that my account is suspended at which time I tried to contact Etsy through email which was my only option and received No response for about 4 days. Then I received another email that said that my account was permanently suspended and gave a list of possible reasons, but did not specify which one it was? What is this? This is crazy! 1. You cannot speak to LIVE PERSON on the phone 2. I never received the revenue from the sale that was made 3. The email was vague and did not tell me what the reason was 4. Did I mention, that you cannot speak to a LIVE PERSON! I will never*** recommend Etsy to anyone ever again, whether it is buy or sell... to me they are a SCAM - I want the revenue from my sale and a I want to speak to a live person* to discuss the reason why the shoppe was suspended in the first place - and if the fees were paid (a total of $5) - doesn't that resolve the problem? -As big as Amazon is, one can still speak to a live representative if you call them! This is ridiculous. Etsy should be ashamed of themselves for treating their merchants so poorly!
So we have been selling on Etsy for about a year and half. They have almost No customer service at all and when you do actually get a representative in live chat they are worthless! The store rating system is complete garbage. You can have 13 5 star reviews and just 1,1 star review brings your shop down to a 3 star rating! Whats worse is even if the buyer has Zero platform history and no purchase history the platform refuses to remove an obvious scam review from a competitor!
The platform is ok and the website is nice but again any problems or issues do not expect any help from Etsy! They are by far the worst platform we have used. We sell on Shopify, Ebay, Walmart and Amazon, all with much better service for sellers!
It was my first time in the site and I found 2 seller's items I was interested in purchasing. I meddled through the order process and paid with my card. I then realized that one of the sellers had charged for shipping and they had a similar item selling for a lot less.
I immediately did the chat thing with Jorge who informed me I couldn't cancel but to get in touch with the seller. Etsey states in it's policy that you may cancel as long as it is in 1 hour of purchase which it was well in that time. Regardless of my stating the company policy he still insisted I needed to Deal with the seller instead.
I finally wrote the seller and 2 days later she responds. I offered to purchase the other one including postage as it still came out less. She asked for my email address in order to refund me the difference - never heard back from her again. I will never order from Etsey again even though the other seller went above and beyond.
Etsey needs to make sure their customer service people at least know their policy.
I tried to purchase a tilt button from Cory at Fatbunnyprints and payed him and never received the part. I tried to contact him many times but he never got back to me. So TRIED TO CONTACT ETSY and guess what they also didn't contact me. Oh right i did get a note that said I CAN HELP. Well that is all i got and didn't talk to me or tried to contact me.

Etsy add: Out of 100$ Etsy get 80$ and you get only 20$. They excuse that they have no control on advertisement and sell.
I will suggest sell only cheap items of few dollars otherwise on Etsy without advertisement you will be in lost for sure. Divide the amount you want for sell price with 0.75 then list without any advertisement, if it will sell you will earn something because almost 25% will go to Etsy. If you do advertisement then divide it by 0.25 then list because Etsy will get 75% and you will get only 25 percent. Not kidding. This is my experience.
BUYERS BEWARE! I bought some dresses the end of September. The lady gave herself until almost Christmas to be able to leave a review. She never sent the dresses and she had my money tied up. I am unable to leave a review or contact Etsy. ETSY HAS NO phone number or anyway to contact them. ETSY in my opinion is a terrible place to shop. There is no way to help a buyer. The only thing a buyer can do is be out your money and forget it cause there is no protection or a way to call them.
I received the wrong item and simply wanted a refund. After completing the online forms and hearing nothing from the seller I spent over an hour on the website searching for Etsy contact number. Only after searching internet did I find instruction to location the contact number. You must call, leave your number and they will contact you.
Upon receiving contact I informed the CSR I wanted a refund and that my case had already been opened and closed by Etsy. She assured me this would be escalated and reviewed again. Within 5 minutes of the phone call I received an email from her stating my case had already been reviewed and closed and was closed again. There was no re-review.
It has been 2 weeks now with no reply from the seller who is MagicMemoryMugs. Be sure to order nothing from MagicMemoryMugs or Etsy. They are a rip off company and once you receive an item, ANY item they are done with you.

Etsy is NO LONGER SAFE. I have 2 factor login (password and text message code) and my account has been hacked multiple times.
On 6/16/22,8/24/22,8/30/22, and now on 11/24/22 my seller's account has been hacked with fake postings of copywrited web graphics that link out to bundlesvgaz.net. Each time I have changed my password and done the necessary steps to ensure my account was safe (as recommended by Etsy customer service), yet this continually happens. I am currently trying to delete my account as I feel my personal information has been compromised multiple times. DO NOT USE ETSY!
I have been selling on ETSY and I have two big shops with thousands of sales and hundreds of 5-star reviews. Due to the recent policies which butcher independently owned and local shops, I have started looking for opportunities to leave ETSY. The enforcement of the offsite ads fee is unreasonable and I don't have any option given to opt-out offsite ads. I know that my customers won't be able to find the similar products that I sell and I am pretty confident that I will still get the same customers without the offsite ads. Secondly, the customer service for sellers is poorly regulated even though I have been paying unreasonably high fees. I paid thousands of dollars over a year and I don't get any response to my emails for over ten days.
Can't check out. One step to final checkout and I get some stupid screen which says something about me not being authorised to change information.? Whatever. Taking my dollars elsewhere. Thanks for nothing!

Answer: Check the reviews, and Google the seller. Also, are the reviews written in good english? Does it seem fake? Check pictures from the buyers.
Answer: I would have to say no, with LOTS of exceptions. In the past few years Etsy has allowed business to claim handmade if it meets certain criteria. I often see many items that claim to be handmade but I have seen them on Alibaba being sold in bulk. That being said I look very closely and have purchased some wonderfu items from great sellers. The biggest problem with Etsy is that they no longer protect customers from fraud (they say they are not liable) but in doing that lots and lots or resellers and counterfeit items have saturated Etsy' s marketplace. I would never buy anything "vintage" there. What I have seen you are getting thrift store rejects or modern fake. Buyer beware! Investigate all vendors carefully!
Answer: I am agree with Ramina. 90% is not hand made. All comes from Factories. When someone has over 8000's item don't you ask who made it. They are all over from Pakistan to turkey east to west up united state. Etsy is happy just to take your money and every 4 or 5 months closing one store to show off and if you have some money as a credit they take it too. No customer service, no respect no manor, they made policy just for FUN and they have FUN with our pocket. Stay far from them FAR FAR.
Answer: I agree with Steve J on this one. A lot of sellers on Etsy work from home in the evenings for extra money. Most of them are not big businesses with massive inventories so I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Give them a little more time and if they dont send it out then file a case with etsy

Answer: I believe this depends on each seller. Etsy is simply a platform for sellers, and often does not have any direct involvement with orders short of processing the payment. Certain items cannot be returned for safety and hygiene reasons, and sellers can refuse to do anything other than exchange. Contacting Etsy may or may not change the results.
