I've used etrailer for years, and I've always found them to have outstanding customer service. They can't do miracles, like give someone warranty coverage themselves if the warranty coverage is with the product manufacturer (as some have complained they should - but I don't know any business that can operate that way). However, when miracles are within their power, they follow through.
Last week I decided to buy a small motorcycle (a late midlife crisis) and ordered a motorcycle hitch carrier through etrailer. I ordered it on my phone and misunderstood the delivery times. When I checked on my PC in the morning, I realized the carrier would come AFTER I was supposed to drive 3 hours this Saturday to get my new bike. I called etrailer, and customer service worked with me right there on the phone to cancel my original order, put in a new order, and for $20 more gave me rush shipping. Interestingly, the price of the carrier went up $2 between my old and new orders, so they honored the lower price. I laughed and said they could keep the $2 - it would be more trouble than it's worth to them to save me $2, but when the updated bill showed up, sure enough, they honored the original price. The rush shipping carrier was supposed to arrive this Friday with the rush shipping (two days from now since today is Wednesday). And I just got a delivery update saying it was coming TODAY. Two days faster than even the rush shipping should have allowed.
This is the sort of thing I love etrailer for. Happy, responsive customer service people. Helpful proactive people. In year's past I've called them for advice - technical advice - on everything from the tongue weight on my car (not just the manufacturer weight, but the real-world practical every-day use "don't damage my car" weight). And their advice has never been wrong yet.
During the height of covid I ordered a large Thule car top carrier that was on backorder. I didn't care it would take a few months. I got email updates regularly. If I reached out with a question about the order, they responded promptly. I was continually reminded I could change my mind due to the wait. When it was finally shipped, they actually called me. Yes, THEY called ME.
What is not to LOVE about this company?!
