The Yakima Platemate is allows you to keep your license plate visible when carrying bikes on a trailer hitch rack. We will be making a long trip across country with bikes on the back of our vehicle. The bikes will block the license plate on the back of our SUV, which is illegal in most states. If driving through a toll, your plate needs to be visible, so the Yakima Platemate is the perfect accessory to attach the plate to your bike rack or the last bike on the rack.

The driver called in advance which was great. He was very courteous and friendly and delivered the pallet in the garage for easy assembly.
The quality is very good. Should be sturdy for the snowplowing I hope to do - just need some snow. There were a couple minor flaws. The blade paint job was damaged in a couple spots down to bare metal. I will just spot spray paint it to prevent any rust. Also, I had to drill a missing hole for one of the springs on the blade. Otherwise, I am very happy with the results.
It took me about 3 hours to assemble and install on the truck. Ready to do some plowing.

I'm a little older and used to old school wiring the electric brake controllers, searching for power wires, stripping wires, connectors ECT, this was a breeze
Overall good, but would be helpful if the site specified that the hitch comes with no hardware, for attaching. Also, if it specified the size needed. It took 2 trips to an auto store to get the correct size. I've used the itch for towing wood splitter already and works well.
