I bought two separate titles in order to gift the "hard to find gift" friends. When I received the PDF versions of them, they were practically illegible due to the small size of the print, no matter what I had the print store attempt to do.
After reading other questions of the legitimacy of the product, I'm very upset. They can't be technically used to register a legal name change like they are marketed since the laws don't grant true ownership to the individual you make the plot out to, and NOW I can't even give it to them as a "fun" gift since the certificate itself is so horribly created that no one could read it without a magnifier…truly disappointed. I hope their customer service can step up and remedy this situation.

We bought couple pack, but we think about refund as we could not find any proofs of trees being planted. Can you share some documentation or some video reports on that note?

Bought for my fiancée and myself as a gift I will give him at Christmas. He will get a kick out of it, we can go around calling each other Lord and Lady and the nice looking certificates I printed out on my printer are gonna look good on the wall in a fancy frame.
And if it helps keep a part of our planet in a more natural state then I'd say its a win win all the way around Thanks Lady Sarah.
We ordered this for a gift. The wording was COMPLETELY WRONG!
When we sent an email to them, they only offered a 50% refund of $82.05 FOR A PIECE OF PAPER that they couldn't even print correctly!
WE WANT A FULL REFUND & WE WILL BE ALERTING THE UNITED STATES ATTORNEY GENERAL regarding this SCAM unless we receive a FULL REFUND!

I just became a "Lady" this morning. Nah, I'm not even remotely Scottish. Well, maybe "remotely", after a recent AncestryDNA test revealed that I have Scottish ancestry, along with Welsh, English and Irish. About 26% in total. However, the rest of my lineage is African & Indigenous (Yucatán Peninsula). In other words, the descendent of African slaves! We never got our promised "40 acres & a mule" from America so I thought 5 square feet of Scotland was a pretty good deal for $40. That's actually $1 an acre for the land we never got! I'm not into livestock so keep the mule! I already have a Scottish-ISH surname - McCall (actually a SLAVE name that is likely Irish - but I'm good with my McName!). So now I'm LADY!
When the original print took longer to arrive via international shipping than anticipated, rather than just tell me to wait longer, Established Titles printed a new one and rush shipped it. So now I have two copies. I would recommend giving international shipping 35-40 days, not just 30. It will arrive eventually. I feel bad that I inadvertently caused them to double their effort. However, print is high quality, frame is great. Great company!
Bough 2 plots beside one another. One for Mother and Father in-law and one for my Husband. They love them. Hope to stand on the land drinking a dram of life's elixir one day soon.

The only thing I've received is the download. I did receive an email stating due to global shipping, etc., the order would be delayed in arriving. I placed the order April 1st and today is June 1st with still nothing in the mail. I'm beginning to think since the order was placed April 1st, the joke is on me.

My family and I have been to Scotland, and my daughter loves it there. She would move in a second if she could. This gift of nobility was some piece to remember our trip by, and really made her happy to be able to frame such a beautiful document of ownership and title.
I previously bought a lord title from another site that end up being a scam. So I did lots of research before buying from Highlands. I am totally satisfied and happy to find out they are not fake. This was a present for my brother and he's already planning a trip to Scotland to visit his land.
I give 5 stars for the customer service. The service is really good. I can not say about the product because we've to refund it as it did not really work for us. The customer service gave us the quickest refund when I asked for it and we really appreciate this!

Though it is true that the title packs are intended as novelty products based on historic Scottish land ownership customs, rather than Scots law, the titleholder's ownership of the plot is very real.
To elaborate on this point further, the plots of land themselves are recognized and referred to as 'souvenir plots' in Scotland. Though souvenir plots are typically too small to be registered with the Scottish Land registry directly, we maintain our own private records and take our agreements and our obligations to our Lords and Ladies very seriously.
In regards to where you can use your new title, if a document has options for titles (e.g. A space for 'Mr.'), you will be able to use your title!

After giving this to my husband he told me that this is a very old scam. I felt like an idiot and at first defended you by saying "at least they will plant a tree which is good for the world" to which he replied, "you don't know that". Now I feel like an idiot!

We are clear on our website that we offer “souvenir plots” and they are pieces of land dedicated for the preservation of the Scottish Woodland that it is located.
We sell a fun, novelty gift. The title pack grants no peerage nor right to rule, this is made clear on our website.
All plots sold are unique and will never be redistributed, even after the buyer cancels their order or after a refund.
We then dedicate 1 square foot of land, that will be preserved in its natural state, and plant a tree. The tree is not planted on the plot of land purchased, but the tree is planted through our partners in reforestation efforts further afield.
