Ergode Books, Amitcj, Extremely Reliable (yeh, right) is a single entity operating out of Richmond Texas. They own no inventory as others have pointed out -- they just list products they don't own and if they nab a customer, they buy from another seller who actually owns the product and has that seller drop-ship the product -- a clear Amazon policy violation. Many sellers and customers have complained to Amazon, Abebooks and other selling sites but because these corporations place profits over people, nothing is done. Please people compleain complain complain. It's the only way to stop this deceitful priactice.
Do not buy from this company. They do not care about their customers at all. I am shocked at how bad their customer service has been - total BS every time I contacted them. I never received the expensive book I bought either.
Does not let you know that order was received and processing. So you dont know if there sending you the book, ( or just taking your money.) then out if the blue, the book ends up at my address, 14 days later when I no longer need it. Then they won't send a return shipping label or take it back without a restocking fee... and it was the sellers fault for not communicating if they even got the order.
In my opinion this is a scam book company. They list books that they do no have and never plan to ship. When there is a problem with an order, they will send a patent email response that has nothing to do with your order. They do not answer the telephone. I would advise that you consider other book companies, and definitely not this one.
I had the same problem as many other people in here. I've been searching for a book I needed for a project for a long time. I saw they were selling it through Amazon, and I bought it (I now can't believe how it's possible for them to have so many good reviews there, I guess they pressure people to erase the bad ones). Book bought, tracking information never arrived. I've waited for more than a month and nothing arrived. Where I live I always get packages, it's very rare to have one lost. I decided to contact them to see what was going on and they fastly assumed that the book was lost, and, I must say, they refunded me fast. Eventhough after some days I was thinking about the whole story and I found it a bit rare, so I've checked again for the book, and surprise, they were selling the book at 3 times the price I've paid. They never sent the book to me. I've contacted them, and like many other people here I've just got lies and automatic replies. Now they say that they don't have the book, that's a listing error, come on, who believes that? And easily I can see they are selling it in other platforms. I left a bad review on Amazon and they have been asking me to remove it, what I don't plan to do. What annoys me most of this whole process is that they treat you as an idiot and they don't stop lying. I'm sad I didn't decide to check for more reviews online before buying, because it's clear that they have been doing this for a long time now. I already opened an incidence through Amazon but I don't know if this would have any effect. I really hope all these cases and bad reviews help someone to avoid having to deal with them
One week later, order has not shipped. His numerous "employees" say it has, but they cannot provide a tracking number as one won't be generated until it reaches Canada. Really? Not new to shipping. First they requested that I change my address from PO Box to physical address because their shipper could not deliver to a PO Box. This tells me it's coming by courier, yet in later emails they claim that once it's in Canada it will be via Canada Post. Pretty sure Canada Post delivers to their own PO Boxes located inside a Canada Post building.
Within minutes of Amazon cancelling the order the books were re-listed for sale, yet Ergode still claims they've been shipped. They have not provided any proof to either myself or Amazon and the "Track My Order" has not been updated by Amazon, which tells me that the company is lying. I order enough books from third party sellers on Amazon to know the process, this vendor is definitely a shyster.
I have no clue how this seller could have such high ratings on Amazon or AbeBooks given the number of complaints I've now read online. Will keep going until I get my money back and will never ever use that vendor again.

Take your money and never send book, said post office must have lost it but will not provide a tracking number or evidence of sending the book, keeps saying im not providing the invoice # which i did, they are crooks. Don't buy from them
They have a huge range of children's Books. Been buying from them a few times for my kid. And they were very usefull to boost his knowledge. I will continue to buy from them. Thank u Ergodebooks!
Do not order from this so called "Business". I ordered a set of dungeons and dragons rule books from their website and never received a confirmation number or tracking number. I called customer service on four different occasions and they told me they would e-mail me the confirmation number. That never happened! After that they had me go to their website to give them my e-mail address which I know they already had because they read it back to me on the phone. Needless to say, I never received any info. After that they started lying to me and saying there computers were all updating. Anyway, If you feel like cancelling a debit card and arguing with some strangers then buy books from here! I'm considering turning these guys into the better business bureau so no one else needs to be ripped off by these sociopaths. Don't make the same mistake I did!
Same story as everyone below, wish I have read the reviews before I ordered. No book showed up, no tracking number, no communication. Talked to a shady Indian on the phone, told me USPS lost my book? Offered a refund, I am convince they did not have the book and never shipped anything. The same book showed up again on their website, this time 3 times more expensive. These people should be out of business.
They do not send you the right book, and fight you all the way on returns! Customer service is non existent. I bought several books from AbeBooks and this was the only scam seller of the 6.
No way on this company's website indicating this company works with other vendors to sell USED books for HIGH prices! Bought this book at $23.95+$3.99 shipping and got a well used book with a garage sell price tag of $7.99 on the book cover! After contacting Ergodebooks, Neil replied by giving me excuses on how they are trying to survive in our tough economic time... So is he saying that it is ok for this company to survive by cheating off their customers? Shouldn't the information be upfront and the choice be up to the customers?! I will never be buying from Ergodebooks again. I will take this price tag as my tuition of learning how bad and unethical this company is!

Very bad customer service. I have a strong feeling that they took my money and just never sent my order. And when I asked for a proof of shipment, here is what they said:
"Thanks for your email. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. Unfortunately, the tracking # is not updated with us for this order and we have already contacted our shipping department to contact the shipping company and get the tracking details. Meanwhile, we assume the item may be lost in transit since you have not received it. We would request you to"
The best book on the market for space systems analysis and design. The database access that comes with the book is also excellent.
Ordered a very expensive item on Christmas eve, then saw dreadful reviews of this firm so cancelled on Christmas day with the help of Amazon platform. They claim they can't cancel as the book is in the post - on Christmas DAY!?! They hadn't said the book was in the post BEFORE I cancelled, only afterwards which I find odd. Amazon are hopefully fixing this for me. If they'd accepted cancellation I might have thought the reviews calling them scammers were wrong, but this only makes me think I was right to cancel.
There is a lot of variety of books available. It was my first time buying a book online. So, I am really happy with their services.
Bought a rare book, no tracking nr. Provided, no book arrived, only the same lame email they send to everyone "product lost in transit, excuse for this postal mess", they offered to refund. The same old story - no book to sell, just using people money. And now this rare book is again for sale by them - red flag that they never posted it to me. How can Amazon still allow this fraudulent seller to freely scaming the customers after so many complains?
DON'T BUY OR SELL FROM THEM! These people have many years doing fraud. They change their address continuously so customers or sellers will not detect them. They buy books and after weeks they claim either they did not received the book or that they received it damaged. When they sell they never send the item.
Their phone numbers are fake. One of the names that they use to buy is Amee Shah, Asendia USA Lettershop and a seller they use Ergode Books, Amitcj but I'm sure they have a lot more names they those.
