Tried to get my deposit back but was told no because I waited longer than 3 days. Their prices are extremely high. Was able to get better carpet for half the price of empire... don't waste your money!

PATHETIC
November 4, 2019

Salesman 3 hours early. Sat on the arm of my couch. Made me feel VERY uncomfortable because I found him staring at my crotch several times. Literally stuck his $#*! in my face, and said never mind you just wanted to see my $#*!. Asked me if I was dating anyone.
Its been over 2 weeks, I've contacted them several times...
To me this is a sexual harassment issue...

I requested a quote because they said it is a free estimate and this is not true because when they visited me they told me to guarantee the price I had to pay $ 25 and call today because I can't do the work and they told me if you do the work with us The money is refundable because 3 days have passed.

Dissapointed

Not good from beginning to end. Salesman was late and we were rushed to decide what to do.
We did both kitchen and bathroom. Gave the ok to leave the original wall board on and to cover with the new since both were brown but the bathroom floor is gray and were never asked if the mahogany wallboard was to be removed. Thus the gray was put over the brown and does not look good and Empire is not going to do anything. Told us to paint over the brown so it would match?. Not at all satisfied. Installation went ok but took longer than originally stated. Would not recommend Empire. Wish we had gone with a local company in our area.

Empire called to ask how my carpet installation was, I told them still waiting for the installer to show up (while waiting all day). At 5 pm they said the installer was not coming and they needed to reschedule the appointment- completely unacceptable and rude. A complete waste of a day - don't waste your time having this company come out they'll just waste your time.

The Worst
October 18, 2019

Took off work to have my kitchen and living room done. Installers cane and said they couldn't do the floor because the pile wood needed to be fixed and I had to do it. This made no sense to me because your the floor people and I explained this to the rep that came to my house. Now after taking off work, the installers coming and ripping up parts of my kitchen floor and after giving them a $2000 deposit I'm on hold for an hour trying to get my floor done today or my money back. This place is the worst. I hate Empire flooring right now thanks for absolutely nothing.

Already paid for product and was very dissatisfied. Installers said many people complain about the same thing. Throughout the flooring there are little dents which look like hammer marks. Installer said it is that the product has imperfections. He does not fix this problem. If I knew what I was getting I would have gone to another company. I wil leave this comment on the internet. To warn people not to buy this product from from you. I want a manager to call me and tel me if this is the way the planks came from the factory. If so you should buy product from another company. I am afraid in some spots the hamer make will. Cause the planks to split or crack in the future. Also the person who sold me this product said it would not scratch. However, I already see 2 scratches. I have no idea how. One installer told me it scratches easily. If I was informed I would have purchased it elsewhere. I hope you answer this comment so that I will not have to take further action, if you choose to ignore these comments. Also the day the install er came you told me he would do the work then but no work was done. He said he would do it the next day but never came. Again I am totally dissatisfied. RUN, do not walk away from Empire Flooring. After close to 5 months of the WORST customer service I have ever endured, this job is over. The salesman seemed to be a great guy, until omission after omission came up... and he would not return my calls or texts. Calls to customer service were met with "someone will call you back within 72 hours". I am still waiting for call backs from June. And it is October. First, the LVT I had selected for the bathrooms was not the correct type for our particular floors. With the installers standing in our home, I had to make a immediate decision on replacement flooring, without a price or really, any choice. Calls to the salesman are still unanswered. My call to customer service was to be returned in 72 hours. Still waiting. Hardwood never would have been my choice for bathrooms, but that is what we got, courtesy of an uninformed salesman.
On the morning of the carpet install, I was told the installers would not remove or install the custom baseboard I had purchased, painted and ready for them... the salesman had told me them installing it would be no problem. Salesman did not include it in the order. Salesman would not return calls. I ended up having to hire someone last minute to remove and install baseboard, that day, at my expense. Empire refuses to reimburse that expense and said I should have called customer service. Why call? They never call back.
Our home was damaged during the carpet installation and I was told to call customer service. Still waiting.

The ONLY good part of this nightmare was Bryan, the window treatment specialist and installer. He was prompt, answered and returned calls, answered questions and was the consummate professional.

I have a short list of Empire employee names I have been let down by, been spoken down to by and have behaved in every way other than professional. It saddens me there is no one to speak to about my nightmare of a renovation.

We are nearing the end of a major home remodel. We called Empire and were told we could pick out a sample of in-stock carpeting and have it installed the next day. Due to extreme time constraints this was absolutely necessary for us. We believed them. They showed up the next day for their appointment and immediately told us the soonest install date was 14 days away! The local guy was not happy either as it was not his fault. Now we are in a jam because we were misled and our schedule is blown to shreds. Our daughter is getting married in less than 14 days and our home is far from complete. Call someone local. Avoid this company unless you want to be lied to.

Horrible Company

I ordered installation of carpets for 3 rooms. Their agent came and quoted me about $2800 +. When I said i had better quote from some one else they agreed to match their price of $1600+. Paid $400 advance on that day by check over the phone.

Installers come to install, ask for $2400+ for payment, in spite of me telling them that we had agreed on a different price, it took an hour for them to figure out the correct price. They kept threatening to leave without installation. Then I had to give them ( 3rd party contractors) the check for balance amount and ALL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION LIKE DRIVERS LICENSE ETC as they called their boss and had to process the check over the phone. I FELT VERY UNSECURED PROVIDING MY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO A 3RD PARTY CONTRACTOR.

On 09. 26. 19 I called in and talked to Rebecca complaining that the installation was not done properly as a result the carpet has started peeling off within a week of installation. I was provided a complaint confirmation # *******325 and was informed that someone will contact me within the next 48 hrs.

Today it is 10. 1. 2019 and still nobody has contacted me as yet.

They are NOT TRUSTWORTHY SO I WOULD RECOMMEND TO AVOID USING THEIR SERVICES

Completly unreliable

I was told 3 x they were coming over to do the tile in my kitchen.
The first time I was told it would only take about 2 hours. I took off from work to get it done. The first day the car broke down. The second time they brought the wrong color tile. The third time the guy was supposed to come in the afternoon. He didn't arrive until 650pm. He told us it was a 6 hour job and could not disconnect the stove and put back to do the tile the way it is now. I was on the phone so many times trying to get this tile job completed.
The sales person made it sound like it was going to be a piece a cake and that everything could be done quickly. My husband is disabled and I wasted my time with this company. I finally I just cancelled it.

Very frustrated
August 20, 2019

I purchased Vinyl plank flooring 2 years ago. Recently I had noticed that the floors planks started to separate and lift up. I contacted Empire in May and it took several weeks for a response. I had to call several times. The install manager came out to see the floors and said it was moisture, a site problem. The damaged floors are in my dining room where there is no moisture. He then said he would have to go to the office and get back to me. I didn't hear back from him but heard back from the sales person. She came over and told me they were replacing the floors with laminate. When I asked what they were replacing she said the entire floor including living/family and kitchen. We set a date and I cleared my house. The day came and nobody showed up. I called several times and was lied to saying the installer was on their way. Come to find out the order wasn't even placed. They said it was a miscommunication and it wasn't going to be free. The install manager made a verbal agreement to do the floors for $1200 because "they can't give floors away" we agreed. Two weeks later the installers come 4 hours later than their window and only have enough product for kitchen and dining room. I called and asked to speak to upper management and 4 days later I'm still waiting to hear from them. I will never use this company again!

People are soo rude and have no idea what they doing. Soo unprofessional. They should hire someone with more professionalism. The person who coming to check your house, They will cancel your appointment for no reason, and if they came, after that they wont answer your call for no reason again. I would say call some other companies.

Don't do business with Empire Today! Cannot get anyone to return calls or do anything to rectify the installation of the wrong color carpeting! We also bought flooring for our kitchen. The installers did not show up the day of install because of car trouble. We expected someone to come the next day but were told we would have to wait another week--ridiculous!

Our sales rep tried to sell us outdoor carpet for our basement ( do not use Justin Mews). His VM was routinely full so he couldn't addresses the issue. Took over 3 weeks to get that resolved. Then when finally agreed on price and time the installers could come out until 5pm on a Friday. The incompetent installer said it would only take 2 hours to do the job. I was not going to wait around until 7pm on a Friday. It was a good thing I didn't. Today (the following Tuesday) the installers are finally doing the job and they have been working for over 3 1/2 hours and still are not finished. Do not use Empire.

I placed a consult online & got a date 7/20/19 from 12:00 to 2pm. No one called but I got an appointment reminder via email. I called to verify the day of & left messages and even spoke with someone who said not to worry that I was on the schedule but then no call & no show. Then a few days later I got a call & I informed them of what happened, he apologized then offered $500 in discounts and still offering when he hung up. I tried to call back 3 times but just got voicemail. He never called back. Then I waited like a week & tried again & still no call & no show. So I rate this company with a negative 100 (-100). Very poor customer service & very unreliable.

Ok, having seen so si many 5star reviews, I just had to speak my piece.
Installation was impeccable. Carpet was good quality. BUT,, that top quality padding I wad expecting was, well, not sho much. Supposed to have to qualify more barrier. It had a VERY thin coating on it that couldn't stop spit from going through. Was not as thick af I was told. They stand begging their products very well with great warranties. They replaced the carpet I had from then after a few months because it the constantly threading up. Had to cut strands after each vacuuming. Kudos to that. I gray's my main complaint was the padding. I just had another carpet company come and replace my carpeting, not due ri their carpet failing, wet just wanted color change. When they canbe back ri estimate the job, the price was so high I nearly had a stroke. SERIOUSLY A STROKE. Had a local company come in and did the job very very well at a price that left us money for McDonalds that night. THEIR padding was double side cover in a thicker moisture rattan material and was much thicker. I know to expect sand to filter through padding, which their was a substantial amount do to living in the country, buy their were tons of spots from moisture on the subfloor. I compared the padding with the padding Emoire installed and found myself shaking my head. So. Make sure the price you will pay won't make you feel faint and then make sure their padding is what they sat it is. Like I said, padding is my issue, but upon getting wiser with investigation, PRICE had reared its ugly head and I fixed that.

After obtaining an estimate from a local flooring store in my home town I called Scott and Lisa Oates, and I am sure glad I did! Scot and Lisa, From the Memphis TN. Store visited with my wife and I and after understanding what we were wanting to do in our kitchen, utility room, and bathroom Scotty and Lisa went to work measuring the areas using an accurate laser measuring devise. Once the footage was determined we started looking at some samples, and after selecting the Vinyl Tile we liked they proceeded figuring the total cost of take up of existing ceramic tile, floor prep, materials, installation, and new quarter round. Needless to say we were SCHOCKED when Empire's estimate was $1200 below the other bid! The flooring was installed PROFESSIONALLY by a couple from Tupelo MS. (who's name I couldn't remember) on May 23rd. I will recommend Empire and Scott and Lisa Oates to all my friends and family that may be looking for new flooring! Thanks Empire and Scotty and Lisa!

The WORST EVER

The flooring had a separation after one month of the installation. I called them to fix, but they are trying to manipulate with the contract.
The material also is bad, Customer service is horrible and they are cheating.
I feel I wasted my money. They are literally the worst I dealt with.
I do NOT recommend to anyone.

As an update, it's been three weeks since I started my initial compliant, and nothing near a satisfactory resolution has come from Empire. So be prepared for the long-haul when dealing with this vendor. If this drags out, the next step is arbitration in small claims court.

Beware the Padding Swap SCAM

If you order anything other than the cheap/basic/economy padding, the installers won't put it in. Instead, they put in the cheap padding. I didn't pay attention when they installed, but had to cut back some carpet to install flooring and noted that the padding put in was NOT what I had ordered -- I had ordered the premium spill-proof/pet-proof padding with liner -- not the cheap stuff without liner. Then the resolution is that they'll replace the padding, but YOU need to move everything out of the room for the installers to replace... or give you $100-150 refund on the "difference in price" for the padding. Which is BS. I warned my friend about it (whom I had referred to Empire unaware I had been ripped off) and they were doing the SAME THING, except he caught it the day of the install. But the installers were like, "well, this is what the warehouse gave us. We can either install it today or reschedule." My friend was moving in in two days and needed the carpet, so he caved and let them install the crap padding and would then work out something with Corporate. THIS IS A SCAM. Do not buy from Empire unless you only buy the cheap stuff. And stay strong with your conviction of them wronging you. They try to frustrate you until you just give up (like Comcast). Take to the review pages. Take it to their Facebook page, bbb.org. Keep up the good fight
