I used to religious read their vehicle reviews and found them to be very informative and accurate. Started about 3 months ago, I noticed they don't include individual vehicle trim level equipment listing anymore. Without the equipment list and the packages to go with each trim level, I don't know what comes with the vehicle with the different trims, i.e. LX, EX, Touring, etc. very frustrating and unhelpful. Huge disappointment on this once great website.

I was going tonbuy toyota corolla 2021 65,000 for $12,700. Fantastic deal. If it's too good to be true then it's too good to be true and I shd have listened to the other reviews. I called an hr and half to make sure the car is there b4 I head out an hr and 14 min away and when I get there voila the guy can't even see it in the computer. Maybe it's in the other location which I called and it wasn't. I called back the person whom i was dealing with and she found out that 45 min b4 i came it was taken to the other location and sold. So what do u think. Car doesn't exist. Car fax doesn't show that its in their location actually it shows nothing after Dec 2023. Such a good deal and they didn't sell it until May. No can't be.

Numbers Don't Add Up
October 6, 2023

I used Edmunds to find information on prices for a 2024 Cadillac CT-5V. While the information was useful, I found that their numbers DON'T ADD UP. The totals were consistently $550 less than the actual sum regardless of options configured. Such an obvious problem adversely affects the site's credibility. I did not provide any contact information, so I didn't have the issues other reviewers reported about being contacted and spammed by the dealers around them.

If you wish to know how much your car is worth, do not use Edmonds. Kelly Bluebook will do the same, and won't paywall or demand your personal information.

Great Way To Find Used Vehicle
December 15, 2022

I looked up what site was best for finding a used vehicle, and the article I found said that the downside of Edmunds was that you could get overwhelmed with the details. I knew it was the site for me then. I love that it lets you filter by what vehicle is considered to be a good deal for the status of the vehicle. I was able to apply the filters I wanted and in 30 minutes, I was following up on a van that ended up being even better than expected. When I took it to the shop to check it out, the mechanic said the vehicle was in the best condition that he had seen in the last 6 months. I told him how much I paid for it, and he told me that I had definitely gotten a good deal and that I had done my "research". I almost laughed because my "research" had consisted of about 30 minutes of searching on Edmunds. The option for filtering the results the way they allowed me to made it quick and easy to find the best option for me.

I have been in the market for an affordable EV. Being new to buying an electric vehicle I was fairly unknowledgeable. Reading through Edmund's reviews and actual tests of electric cars helped ease my range anxiety and make an informed purchase decision.

They wrote a much-publicized review when they spoke of nothing but negatives, specifically the sports-car ride and build problems. Not a word about the good it's doing the world, the fun of driving it, acceleration, or technological innovation. They're obviously prejudiced toward old technologies.

Talk about lucky... Marcus L. Literally walked me through step by step on purchasing my Camry that I had originally leased. I am a woman and rely on knowledgable people to give me straightforward information. I got that. Kindness, I got that. Not in a hurry, I got that. The price was right in with my budget. I want to encourage people to understand, they can pay more than what is fair... I got fairness... So head on over to Toyota and ask for Marcus L... a true Gentleman in a rough business! Kay W. Sorry, I am older and do not know how to put a picture up... It is a pretty 2019, Blue Camry in great shape.

All of these car review companies like KBB and Edmunds have been purchased by big monied interests in the automotive industry. You will notice that they have all increased prices on new and used cars systematically in the last 12-18 months. Many new cars that sold far below MSRP when purchased new are now selling way above MSRP as a used car. This is an engineered manipulation of the automotive marketplace to produce the highest profits ever seen in this market segment. Also, every new car sold in the USA is being pushed to a $30k to 60k unit price. I know that all of the manufacturer's Honda, Toyota, Kia... all have new cars that sell for $12 to 15k. I've seen them being sold all over Asia. However, they will not allow them to be sold in the USA? They want all Americans to be saddled with a $40k loan on a depreciating asset like a car. I urge all Americans to write their congressman and tell them that we want to purchase affordable cars ($15k) that will not force us into bankruptcy if we lose our jobs and cannot pay off a car loan that that is three times what the asset is actually worth.

Things were going well until the end. When I pressed give me the value of my car or something similar to that the screen went back to the original start over page and lost all my data. I see on this great site for reviews of companies called sitejabber that Edmunds has a very low approval rating. So it isn't just me. Thank you SITEJABBER! You are performing a valuable service. I will be telling everyone about your website

The dealer will not have the car for the price they list on the Edmunds referral. For information on cars okay, but Edmunds allows dealers to list prices that are not real. Do not use Edmunds for a price referral. You will waste your time. But even worse, if you are not a savy negotiator, you will overpay.

The Edmunds Scam
October 15, 2020

It is obvious why car dealers cannot stand the internet: it allows consumers to shop around and, in theory, compare prices. But they have figured out a way to upsell using the internet through the supposed services provided by Edmunds.

Edmunds allows you to define you vehicle search and then "connects" you with dealers. Edmunds even gives you an imaginary "price paid by others," for the same vehicle telling you what is a good, fair or even great price. It then directs you to the dealer's site, forwards your information to the dealer so the harassing calls, texts and emails can start pouring in. Then daily (sometimes even more) Edmunds pushes your selected vehicle with admonitions such as "test drive this before its gone" and "your selected vehicle is here".

There is a catch: the vehicle as priced is never available. In fact, even when provided the right VIN number it is always in transit! To add insult to the string of phony baloney, instead of providing the vehicle you selected during the on-line process, your email is filled with models that do not match what you requested.

In my case, I have been looking for a 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty Pick-Up Short Bed in the Lariat Package. Edmunds tells me, with the features I want, that the price should be between $50,000-$58,000 depending on features. Guess what? Every dealer has the same truck only starting at $70,000! That price is not even on the Edmunds curve. I assume between "good price" and "great price" there is not a category for "outrageously overpriced"!

Every day I get, "new matches for your car search" and every day it is the same: vehicles that do not "match" my request (i. E. XL, XLT lower end trucks) or vehicles that are $20,000 more than the Edmund's price.

It is sad that what should be a seamless, honest process has been co-opted into a scam.

Waste of time
July 24, 2020

Was under the impression test drive appointment was based on vehicle passing inspection. Was planning on purchasing the Encore. Got there & then was told vehicle didn't pass inspection. Multiple emails and text were sent, and was never informed vehicle failed inspection-even though it came from another dealer.
My family and I used a Buick dealership in Florida and NEVER experienced this lack of communication. Would NOT recommend Edmunds dealership!

"Edmunds Deal" Totally Useless
June 17, 2020

Just used edmunds.com to get the "Edmunds Deal" on a vehicle, $325/month lease. Dealer responded and stated the price would be $389/month! Edmunds does not stand behind their "deal" and the dealers laugh all the way to the bank! Total SCAM site!

Getting nonstop phone calls
January 16, 2020

DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFORMATION TO Edmunds.com. They got my phone number into their system accidentally. In the last twelve hours throughout the night and this morning (8:30pm - 8:30am), I have received 14 unsolicited phone calls and text messages from various dealerships. I have contacted Edmunds about this issue to no avail. DO NOT under any circumstance give your phone number to Edmunds.com unless you want to be receiving phone calls every 10 minutes.
