This site is terrible due to boatload of advertisements, pops-ups, spam, useless info, etc... I used it 4 years ago and it was fine. It's worthless now with all the hang ups and crashing and refreshing and scripts running.
I don't and don't plan to go thru Edmunds to buy my car. I'll do my research on Edmunds on quality and pricing, then go armed with the info to the local dealer. For research, I don't know of any better place to read about the good, bad, and ugly, without having to pay for it like Consumer Reports. I've not had any website technical or latency issues in the past, so I can't weigh in about problems like that that others have experienced. Could be Internet provider, clogs in the internet core, etc, something other than their website servers.
Trying to price out a new vehicle, site was slow and unresponsive and I never did find what I wanted to. I will not waste any more time looking for information here
Don't waste your time if you think you can save time by using this web. Some dealer will not tell you the "true" price until last mins (tell you price don't include additional $2000 dealer add-on and if you don't want those then your price will not be same)! My husband and I have wasted entire afternoon to find this.
I can't evaluate anything about Edmunds. The new site is a complete mess. Browser crashes, browser stalls, dead links. Wow did this one ever go down the tubes.
I was a fan of Edmunds for many years. Did most of my research for specs and prices and reviews of driving, handling, performance and features. It WAS a great resource for me the consumer. But now it seems very difficult to find the information I want. It seems it's sole purpose is to sell cars for the dealers. Even trying to get prices I have to enter my phone # and email address. That ridiculous! My car buying process can start years before I actually buy my next car. It usually starts when things about my current vehicle start to bug me. Or I may see another car on the road that looks cool and I want to check it out. I have a few specific things I want in a vehicle so I need to look at the specs, I'm a spec freak you might say. The way the new layout is on Edmunds it's very time consuming to get the specs I want. I always want to know "how much cargo space behind the 2nd row". A spec that is often left out on 3 row vehicles, but even finding that it's left out is difficult. It's just an overall pain to compare vehicles now. Again, it seems way more geared to the dealer then to the car buyer. It drives me nuts and I don't like using it. Looking for a better web site for doing my research, Edmunds no longer makes it fun. I don't want dealer sending me email in perpetuity while I'm still window shopping!
I traded in car and they were 5,000 off on the trade in private ce of a 10 year old car. How is that possible.
Was told they send my interest out so dealers compete on price. Total scam. Ruined my ability to negotiate with dealers. All dealers contacted me and wanted to schedule a time for me to come in and new i was interested obviously if i submitted online. Not what it claims. Total advantage to dealers. None offered a low price all being high, or just trying to get you to come in. Extremly frustrated.
We got a car using this site search but due to mistake in VIN and some problem with sensor I failed to submit info in time to get some of perks. Also when you fill in the required fields using mobile there is always a mistake about your name or address.
Contacted customer service and explained the issue as we ran a bit late with submission and did not get even any suggestion on some perks or 50% of gas cards. I understand that there are some terms but it was Xmas and New Years holidays so we had to wait till our car was fixed and it happens on business days only. I would say Edmunds just do not care about ppl and offer is a scam
This site is a terrible waste of time, the API wont recognize my email address after wasting time going through all the steps to get car info. Help desk was also a waste of time! Simply suggested using another email! WTF!? THAT IS MY EMAIL! FIX YOUR STUPID API! I use that email on every other site without fail.
I have used Edmunds for over 30 years (before internet, I used their hard copy magazine) and it was the best, most insightful service to the consumer. For my last two purchases in last 2 years and especially now, the site is hard to navigate and overloaded with ads. What was one or two clicks to get to bottom line summary now requires extensive navigation with lots of ads on each page that don't load quickly (I assume it is trying to customize). It seems like the site and service has been taken over by dealers
I had a similar experience to Tyler, though thankfully I caught the issue early. I contacted the dealership in question and asked some questions I had about things, and was asking more details about other promotions they had going on (that I hoped would add to the price), but then he said that their online price (which matched edmunds) included all of the available rebates. So, I'm not an uber driver, so add $2,000 to the price. I'm not military, so add another $500, etc. I'm glad I figured it out before going, but it's a disappointing experience, and edmunds looks just as bad as the dealership (other dealerships did not have the rates so low like this one) does.
I found my car through the site, but i was swamped with ads. The dealer was pretty sketchy. Then the site promised some promotional with a 200$ gas card. Which because i was late accepting the offer they didnt honor it. I bought my car *******$ cash, and they cant offer a stupid 200$ gas card? How stupid. I honestly dont care about the 200$, but its really the principal. Dont shop here. Use a different site. Youll thank me later.
