We placed an order in September that has still not arrived despite a daily promise that the delivery would arrive easylife have refused to refund the item and the customer care team say they can do no more to hrlp
These people seem to think, that because you have ordered items off them, it entitles
Them to take money from your credit card at will, and sign you up to unwanted discount cards ie PERX and EASYLIFE SUPERCARD. Have had to phone credit card company twice to get refunds of £2.99 and £69.95 for unwanted easylife supercard. Second time
For £18.50 for perx (never heard of them). Also persistently making unwanted phone calls. Would have avoided like the plague if I had been aware beforehand.
Purchased an item in April. Had a garbled phone call supposedly checking on my level of satisfaction in June. Politely refused any further marketing calls and then discovered that £18.50 had been taken from my credit card. Later got a stupid catalogue with a £10 voucher which I would never use. Only then did I realise this company had kept my details and signed me up for membership of an unwanted 'club' called Perx. Scandalous behaviour. Avoid this company at all costs.
PERX? No, I don't know what it means, nor did the bank.
£18.50 was suddenly debited to my bank account. The bank spent 20 minutes trying to contact Visa, who finally traced the debiting company. When I rang them, they instantly promised to refund the charge, which was duly credited. Mmmm, this all smells more than a little. And is it not strange that the word EasyLife did not appear on my bank account; instead, the curious and unidentifiable name PERX was used. Mmmm. I draw my own conclusions.
A couple of months ago I got some items from Easylife. It was supposed to be free delivery for orders over £30.00. I spent almost £200.00 but they charged me £4.99 delivery. I emailed them and got the delivery charge back no explanation. Then someone called my husband mobile (I didn't give them the landline it blocks calls not programmed into the phone) This person said he wanted to talk to me about the order. Nothing about the order was mentioned he wanted to sign me up to PEX (its under the Easylife umbrella) whereby you are supposed to get discounts in shops and restaurants etc. It costs £18.50 every 3 months. I wasn't interested but he told me I get a 3 week free trial and a £10.00 voucher. I said okay. I had to wait for the brochure and voucher this was over 2 weeks coming. A few days later £18.50 came out of my bank I had only just got the brochure and hadn't had a chance to look at it. I was so angry I phoned them told them to close the account I'm not interested. I got my £18.50 back. Just last week someone phoned again about an order I had recently placed. I said that was a couple of months ago, he said that's recent. He wanted to offer me a £10.00 voucher again, again I said I'm not interested. Husband has now block the number. I wish I had ever ordered from them.
I am extremely dissatisfied with the service we have received from this company.
My Mum spoke to a woman concerning an extendable hose the woman assured her it extended to 100 ft so Mum ordered it. When it arrived it only extended to 50 ft. I rang on Mum's behalf (she is 88) and the friendly team', Andy, in returns stated that he could not be sure my Mum had really wanted the 100 ft, it was clear that the product number was for a 50 ft, and could not verify the conversation she had with the customer service person concerning the hose. He stated that Mum should have known the longer hose was more expensive. In effect he called my Mum a liar.
We have also got to return the hose at our own cost. Bearing in mind Mum paid for express delivery this situation has cost her in excess of £12. We will not be using this company again.
I feel very angry. Easylife' I don't think so.
I purchased two sets of Solar Garden Stake Lights! When tried the first time, one was not working. We now have SIX that are not working. We have complained bitterly to EasyLife but they refuse to replace or to refund. They tried to create difficult obstacles, questioned whether the delivery address was the same as the purchase address, asked that a 'specialist' verify they were not working on delivery(!), claimed not to find the purchase details. At such a cheap price, we had not bothered to keep receipts. When the first failed we put that down to bad luck... now that so many have failed we advised them that their product was, 'Not fit for purpose', under the Act. They have stopped answering letters. I have offered to return the six we still have that have failed... all with their EasyLife labels still attached! A cheap and nasty product from a company that clearly has a low customer satisfaction rating!
I ordered a set of 4 step ladder. When I unpacked and assembled them one leg was significantly shorter than the other. Also the assembly was not at all easy. They were very wobbly. I rang I about returning them and was told I could not have them collected for over 2 weeks. I have stayed in all day waiting for this item to be collected and there has been no contact. I rang easylife group to be told Hermes should have sent me a returns label. I had already filled one out and repackaged it with the ladders. I was told that if they didn't turn up I would have to reschedule another collection. After waiting for this one for two weeks I think it's poor that the collection didn't take place after I stayed in all day waiting. I have no idea when I can get rid of these faulty ladders or when I will get my money refunded. I cancelled the rest of my order as one of the items was not in stock and they wouldn't post the rest of the order to me unless everything was sent together. Yet they sent me the faulty ladders on their own. This was my first time ordering from this group and it will be the last. I only wish I had read the google reviews before ordering.
I bought a non slip bath mat from this company. Within 2 weeks one of the suction cups fell off but I continued to use it as it still had another 11 that were firmly stuck to the bath and I felt safe. Eight weeks ago that bath mat slid across the bath with no warning and I broke my shoulder and badly bruised my cheekbone. I'm facing months of recovery. I received a phone call from the company within a few days and they seemed very concerned. However the only thing they picked up on was the missing suction cup and said it must have been that which caused it to slide. I know that wasn't the case as the end that slid was nowhere near the gap from the missing one. They don't bother contacting me now that they've made sure I can't sue them.
NEVER buy from this catalogue company. Their business is not to sell products, but to scam you forever after. They get your bank account / card details and forever rob you. They target elderly people by selling so called aid products directed at older people JUST to get your financial details.
If they phone you just immediately hand up don't even speak. They are dangerous and don't know how on earth they are getting away with it
My husband bought a back brace from this company in May this year. He then received " free lottery tickets" and to phone a number to accept. You would have agreed to join a syndicate and charged £12 weekly. This was ignored. Then came the super card thank you for taking up free 14 day trial. Your account would be debited £69.99 yearly. This was cancelled. Then came the thank you for taking up the 14 day trial of Perx your account will be debited £18.50 quarterly unless you cancel within the 14 day trial. Then came the PPI letter from a company U claimed 4 me. Headed up from Easylife. Which was ignored. We are now waiting for the Motoring club. £59.99 yearly. When ordering from this company you may have been a bamboozled into agreeing to this company sharing your details with others. This company may or may not be breaking the law and, in my opinion are using underhand tactics to make money. My husband is a 73 year old gullible disabled man who would have been at least £143.99 a year worse off. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH COMPANY.
Having had £39 taken from my bank a/c I rang to find out what I'd bought. Seems I had joined a gardening club on the phone. There is no way I would join such a club as I DO NOT GARDEN! It was agreed by the person I spoke to to cancel my subscription and send written confirmation.
I was fool enough to start super card card membership. When i called to cancel membership the first thing the guy said was do you want a 2 week extension. I then told him not interested just cancel. When i asked for proof of cancellation he said we cannot do that.
What a company. Stay away from their offers.
My bank inform me i may have to cancel my card.
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM EASYLIFE...
My wife has used this company sporadically over the last 4 to 5 years with no problems and she was fairly happy with their service. I placed an order 3 weeks ago under my wife's account and BINGO!, I was signed up for their Book Club samplers@ £1.95 taken from the account used for the ordered items and received 2 paperbacks 10 & 15 year old. Quickly followed by another deduction from the account of £69.99 for a "Discount Online Card" then a further deduction of £29.99 for a "Book Club " membership. Total unauthorised amount of £101.93 removed from my account within 3 days. Spent many wonderful hours playing telephone tag with them and ended up speaking twice to 2 different people on different numbers. Have just been refunded all monies will never use them again, too risky, as they just keep removing money from your account.
AFTER BUYING ITEM I WAS CALLED TO TELL ME I WOULD BE GETTING CARD SENT I INFOFMED THEM I WAS NOT INTERESTED DEPITE THIS CARD ARRIVED I IMMEDIATELY PHONED TO CANCEL, NEXT BANK STATEMENT SHOWED 10 DEDUCTION I QUIRED THIS AND WAS TOLD IT WAS FOR NOT RETURNING CARD THIS WAS A CARD I DID NOT WANT AND HAD TOLD THEM BEFORE IT WAS SENT I DID NOT WANT IT
I like others received a phone call offering the Supercard where everything was not explained fully. When I received the card and realised there was no way I would use it I phoned up and cancelled immediately. I was told to return the card or I would have a £10 charge and was given an address over the phone and told to include my details, this I did and returned the card. Upon checking my credit card statement there were 2 charges from Easylife, £2.99 and £10 which I didn't recognise as purchases so I phoned Easylife. I was told the £2.99 was for sending out the card and the £10.00 was because I hadn't returned it. I had the date written down that I returned it on so I was told they would refund me, I then told them that there was no way I would have agreed to the card had I been told there was a £2.99 charge for sending it. They said they would pass on my complaint and the phone call will be listened to and they would contact me further, I am still waiting for a reply.
This company is aimed at the older members of society and is deliberately misleading people and relying on people not fully checking all charges on their credit card. If half the people they contact don't bother to investigate small sums on their card that they may not recall making a purchase for this company is making thousands of pounds out of innocent people, be warned this innocent looking company knows exactly what it is doing.
I have now received a reply to my complaint about Easylife from the Information Commissioner's Office and I quote from it as follows:- "It is in our view that it is unlikely that Easylife complied with its data protection obligations in this case. This is because we do not believe you were fully informed, nor did you consent to your information, namely credit/debit card information, to be processed by Easylife for the purposes of signing you up for supercard membership". "Furthermore, it appears that you withdrew your consent on May 5th 2018, within the 14 days cool off period yet your personal information was still used to sign you up for the annual membership. Therefore it appears that your information was not processed lawfully as Easylife could not rely on consent for the condition for processing."..."We keep a record of all the concerns raised with us about the way Easylife processes personal data. The information we gather from concerns may form the basis for action in the future where appropriate. The informatlon provided in this case has been very useful". "Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention". Personally, I am very pleased with their response, and would encourage anyone who has been similarly experiences with Easylife to write a letter of complaint to the I. C. O. At Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Like other reviewers I was scammed by Easylife. The way they scam older people who buy from their catalogue is now well known. I have now been refunded by Tesco Bank credit card as a charge back but it was not easy.
Their customer service no. Is totally automated and does not include an option for contact with a human being to discuss charges you disagree with. I eventually found the number - 0345 366 2711, but they do not make it easy. All documents supporting your claim must be submitted on line - they will not give you an address to write to. This discriminates against older people who are not always computer literate, and scanning documents and attaching to an e-mail would be an impossibility. I have also lodged a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office and await a reply, particularly if they agree with my contention that the use of personal bank information used for a catalogue purchase should not be passed on to another company who then use it to charge unauthorised transactions. Also please write to your MP. I did and got a very useful reply. Apparently the scam is very well known "and has been identified as a top priority by the Consumer Protection Partnership". Also new powers have come into force which protect consumers who were deliberately misled or bullied into buying something, also a new right to take personal action through the civil courts for misleading or aggressive demands for payment. Hopefully one day these dubious selling techniques aimed particularly at elderly people will be made illegal.

I ordered a pair of sun visors for my wives Fiat 500. They arrived when I open and took one out it had a crack in it. Decided to try it on the 500s visor it was too big and would not when fitted allow the visor to return close to its correct position so impeding the view. No problem there was a return label and just a phone call to a 030 number. First try I am number 11 in line then later 15 in line that works out at about £1 before I speak to anybody. So Email two of these and completely ignored. This company is bending the consumer laws on mail order. I am finding it very difficult to return this item.
Following a cold call at meal time, I was pressurised into taking out Smartcard even though I, as a pensioner on limited finance, don't use most of the outlets. Although cancelled card offer well within the time limit, they still took £69.95 from my bank account on 30/8/18. Despite numerous calls and emails, they keep giving excuses as to why this amount has not been reimbursed up to 28/9/18. Their Accounts Dept "do not take phone calls" so I have to keep chasing them with a threat of legal action. BEWARE and don't get involved with their offers.
My 87 year old mother in law was cold called and pressured into taking out a subscription to their magazine. She was told she had a 14 day cooling off period but her confirmation letter arrived after the period ended. Have cancelled her credit card so that it cannot be used again. My m in l is frail and hard of hearing.
