I was looking for a DVD of the Showtime Chris Isaak Show from 2003 which has never been officially released. DVD Rare had it available on their website. I ordered a copy and used my credit card. I did read negative reviews about their past history with credit card fraud which was supposedly resolved 3 years ago. A couple days after my order, I received an email saying my order was being cancelled as the DVD was unavailable. A few days later I noticed a suspicious charge on my credit card for $2.95 and then a credit for that amount. I called US Bank and they confirmed that it was a fraudulent charge and that the scammers were testing my credit card in preparation for further fraudulent purchases. The card was immediately canceled before any other fraudulent charges could be made. I have not visited any other websites in the past two weeks other then DVDRare so they are still allowing hackers to obtain sensitive credit card info. Stay AWAY FROM THEM!

My sister is a huge fan of all the 90s shows we watched together (Kenan & Kel, All That) but we could never find them on DVD.
Her birthday was coming up, so I was delighted to finally find these shows at DVD rare.

Delivery was quick, in time for the bday, and the picture quality was good.

I only give them 4 stars because I asked for a discount (because I was making a large order) but the customer support lady said they don't offer any discount codes.). I always like to find a good discount ;).

I'm a collector of obscure US TV shows (mainly from the 1980s because it reminds me of when I lived in the US).

I've now bought from DVD Rare on 3 occasions and every time the delivery has been relatively quick (I'm based in Germany, so it's international shipping which can be slow with other retailers), the video quality is either decent or good.

I wish they would add a request section to their website. Because I have a list of TV shows which I haven't been able to find anywhere else.

I have just had another order from this company, I have had no problem with them at all. DVD sets where delivered promptly and are of good quality, not only in the content but the artwork on the covers also.

I know they had trouble with their site a while back, I understand they where using dated software on their site. I spoke to the lady who administers the site a while back and she assured me that the site had been completely re-built and made much more secure last year, I have noted that their reviews are much better in several review sites which kind of confirms that.

Like I say, my experience with them is positive, some items seem a bit pricey but I watch for when they have a sale to get a discount.

Shipping times depend on where you come from, I usually have my orders pretty quick. They don't make the charge on your card until they are ready to ship.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them for good service, my family would say the same.

I've used a bunch of the rare TV show sites over the past 5 years and this is the only one which has never messed me about. Always good quality and prompt delivery.

I used to purchase from Ioffer and TVAddicts, these were usually cheaper, but sometimes the episodes would be crammed onto too few discs -which made the video unwatchable,
Or sometimes the DVDs wouldn't even get delivered to me.

The only downside is that Dvrare costs a few dollars more, but in the long run its worth it because their DVDs are better than the other sites.

I made a double order with them recently.

Got 'Kablam', a 90s show which was very good quality, and 'A Man Called Hawk' which was mediocre (80s show, video was a lil bit fuzzy).

Delivery was fairly speedy.

Ordered from this company twice (Christmas 2015 and August this year).
Solid, reliable service both times.

Only complaint was delivery time (took 6 days to get here to the Netherlands) - but other than that im happy.

I ordered a boxset for a tv series I couldn't find anywhere else. Turned out that they didn't have one of the DVDs (surprise!), so they cancelled the order. I wrote them but never got an answer. Today I got a message from my bank, telling me that someone tried to charge my credit card with 2500€. Luckily the security system didn't let this one through. I'll receive a new card, matters will be investigated.

Placed an order with this company and 3 days later my credit card company called to verify a charge for $ 1800. 00 on my account. It was an internet order from a company I had never heard of. They cancelled card and sent me a new one. Sent email to dvdrare regarding order and they didn't reply. I placed the order again and used a credit card I don't use often. Three days later this bank called me regarding 7 different charges from I tunes all placed on the same day on my card. Once again my card had to be cancelled and they are sending me a new one. No one else could have gotten the second card and it had not been used anywhere else by me. My bank told me to always use PayPal when ordering online as it is a much safer site. Dvdrare has not responded to my emails regarding second order or the credit card fraud.

Avoid dvdrare.com like the plague.
They sent me a dvd set that had been recorded from a tv showing uk gold and could only be described as appalling quality. Unwatchable!
I for one will be taking this as far as I can.

Returned dvds at my expense. Have finally been offered a refund minus postage costs so only £14.00 out of pocket now!

My advice is stay away from this company unless you want a third or fourth generation copy that was recorded from a tv/satellite/ program or more likely a video tape with picture quality that we would call total crap but they call watchable.
