This is bait and switch at it's best! It is clear that the business model of this organization is to bait you at their website with "REPLACE YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE ONLINE" and when you enter your personal information and CC number, it bills you WITHOUT CONFERMATION. You then receive an EMAIL confirmation that you purchased the "Online Driver's Guide." I just called to reverse the charges and they said it will take 7-10 business days. I will check to see if they actually reverse the charges.
My wife lost her driver's license and needed to get a replacement. For some reason, this website was the first to come up when she searched for replacement driver's license and she gave the credit card and was charged before realizing the mistake. The company refused to provide a full refund and decided to keep $3 as some kind of nonrefundable transaction fee. I called my bank to dispute the charge and as soon as I told them the name of the merchant, they reversed the charge and told me they get calls about this company all the time.
Like everyone else, I didn't notice I wasn't on official site.
Entered all of my personal information and credit card. There's no fees disclosed and I was puzzled. I checked my card. I was charged $2.99 and $19.99. I received an e-mail about a Driver's License Road Guide. I've reached out. No answer. Disputing charges.
I was attempting to assist my elderly father in getting a replacement drivers license for the one he lost. The site is very misleading and not until after I pressed submit did I question the legitimacy of this site being associated with Dept of Motor Vehicle. I just called for TWO REFUNDS. One for $2.99 and the other for $19.99. Supposedly Ill be refunded within 7-10 business days.
The CSR on the phone argued that the site clearly states that (they) are not associated with Motor Vehicle Department... That is not true. I am pretty watchful of scams and unfortunately fell for this. Shame on me for not paying closer attention to the web address after I found the site on google search.
Like everyone said, this is NOT an official government website. They ask for your driver's license, your credit card info, they charge you, and you don't get your driver's license renewed. My family fell for it, and we're in the middle of getting a refund.
Soooo close to getting caught by this one, and I NEVER have been scammed before. Just did a quick search for DMV license renewal and this SCAM site was the first to pop up. I grabbed it not noticing the "AD" designation. Finally woke up and noticed the bogus. Org address before completing the transaction. Why can't I give no stars? I hate even offering the single one. Be careful out there kids...
These are not the droids you're looking for. Make sure you're dealing with a. Gov NOT a. Org. A ridiculous company that exists to pray on the ignorant and elderly.
I ordered a replacement driver's license from these people. When it didn't arrive I began to investigate. They don't provide any of the services they claim to. They take your money and send you a "driver's guide". Buyer beware!
They pose as Department of Motor Vehicles. You think your changing address on divers license and boom. They start putting charges on your credit card. I have reported bank fraud and filed complaint with Florida's Attorney General for fraud on the elderly.
Mistakenly found this site like everyone else. No mention of any fee. When you call to cancel they still try and sell you on purchasing their worthless product. BEWARE OF SMALL CHARGES AND CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARDS.
I googled for driver license renewal. This site showed in the results. Thinking that this is the place to renew my license i clicked on it. After giving my information to them they charged my credit card multiple times. For what? I don't know. They do not provide any service, they just have information on how to renew your license. I am going to report this web site. I see that 99% of people who have used this website have the same problems. Lets report this people! Put them in Jail for fraud.
Like everyone else it was late and I didn't see the switch over from real Texas DMV. They are gonna hear from me every day till I get my money back. This is B. S someone needs to shut it down now!
Although I realized this site was not the MASS DVM, so never hit SUBMIT, they still charged me. They were quick to cancel and refund--and that made me think they realize they are 'scammy.' And I have to wait 7-10 days for the cancellation! SCAM! I clarified several times that I did NOT hit the submit button. MMHHHH--wonder how they justified charging me. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.
I do not think that I need to go into detail about this site since all of the comments above have pretty much covered my scenario. I just want to add to this list in hopes that something will be done about this site. My wife and I both got scammed under different site names, so I believe whomever operates this "business" is marketed under multiple site names. PLEASE BE CAREFUL! Now that I have found the real DMV site (I'm in Texas) I can easily tell the difference in the real thing. The DMV site will ask for an audit number, dl number, and last 4 of your social. It will then pull up your name, dl class, and if you are a donor or not.
Hope this helps someone.
Just adding my voice to this scam site. Hopefully, if enough people complain something will be done. I'm going to be credit monitoring on my son. Has anybody had any problems other than the original rip-off?
I just filed a formal complaint with Florida Attorney General's Office on this large scale scam. Pam Bondi is the Attorney General. This website is an Advertising Violation nightmare, and Google allows them to pay to appear first on the search. Another feather in the hat for Google. After prominent government markings and identifiers, and a BBB endorsement (shows how legit the BBB is) luring customers into believing they are affiliated with our state's DMV, there is a small gray on gray disclaimer that states they are not affiliated whatsoever. Paid to have my drivers license address updated and a new drivers license mailed to me as advertised. Then advanced to another page to buy manuals and an option that told me to go to my DMV to have this done. Total scam, just like all other complaints read.
I'd like to know HOW MANY hundreds or thousands of displaced Hurricane victims this has taken advantage of who had to relocate and update their licenses. I'd also like to know who the scum bag is that runs this scam and laughs all the way to the bank KNOWING nothing will happen to them.
Like most of the people who've left reviews, I wanted to renew my license online (shouldn't have been doing this at 2 am). By the time I realized I hadn't even seen what it would cost, I had clicked "Submit". I pressed the backbutton until I saw in TEENY TINY PRINT that these b****es charged me $23.98 for a 'license guide'. Next time, I'll google a site for site reviews FIRST!
This site should be shut down now! It is misleading and it requires all your personal information on the application just like the BMV. I was just scammed because I was in a hurry and didn't check the reviews. Now I am scared the site will sell my dentity information for theft on my credit card in the future.
Horrible! FK these guys! They act as if you can renew your license with them... just follow this link... NOT! These folks are a TOTAL SCAM! Unbelievable the total lack of shame that's running rampant today... their stupid. Pdf doesn't even tell you how to actually renew your license! No link to the actual. Gov site. Nothing... not only do they trick you into paying for a "guide" when you think you are renewing your license, their guide is frkn worthless! Oh you betcha I"m pissed...
Answer: Call the 1800 number on their site and demand a refund. I did and they cancelled the transaction and my subscription'. You can also dispute the charge with your credit card company
Answer: Oddly enough, on their "Terms and Condition" page, at the very top in red it reads: "Please Note: CLASS ACTION WAIVER section contains a binding arbitration clause and class action waiver. It affects your rights about how to resolve any dispute with Texas DLP." When you go down to the CLASS ACTION WAIVER section it reads, "THE PARTIES WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO ASSERT ANY CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER PARTY AS A REPRESENTATIVE OR MEMBER IN ANY CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION, EXCEPT WHERE SUCH WAIVER IS PROHIBITED BY LAW OR DEEMED BY A COURT OF LAW TO BE AGAINST PUBLIC POLICY." Guess they've been to that rodeo before and they know that most think they are a trusted site and "click away" on those "terms and conditions" check boxes. But I still say it doesn't give them the right to defraud everyone into thinking they are getting a license renewal. You know the State of Texas Government is aware of this ---- but it is amazing that it can be allowed to continue. I feel our government doesn't want to get their hands dirty because there are too many protections in place for fraud businesses like this. Right under our noses, and we can't even prosecute because of all their "civil liberties". This is when our fear of big brother brutality has tied his hands behind his back. In other countries, they wouldn't be allowing this, which is why they are here.
