I was in a hurry and this site mask itself as an actual state DMV site. Soo smooth and they even fluff it up with the would you like to donate to Mother Against Drunk Drivng.
Went through the process and at the end when the screen locked up and I realized I was just scammed it was too late.
I called to cancel the transaction and they stated they would cancel the transaction but not the $3.99 processing fee and they could not refund the donation I made to MADD.
They also could not show me that the $5.00 donation I made to MADD actually went to them and not to just there own pockets because the charge went to the same place and my card statement.

Hopefully you wont be the 3rd person on 09-18-2018 to leave a stay away from this site review.
I used Microsoft Bing search for renewal of vehicle registration. Searching "dmv.ca.gov" then this website pop-up on top of the result. I thought it's dmv site and go through renewal registration. I was carefully reading some notes around the columns, and the last page was asking credit card information without telling what I'm going to pay for. (I should have stopped at this page! But my brain was keep thinking how I can finish the pay of registration).
After credit card information has been sent, my browser was frozen and I was charged $3.99.
This website is obviously having the intention to pretend like DMV related. But actually not. And it didn't tell me anything clearly that "this website is not DMV". Also the credit card registration page is not telling anything what I'm paying for. Totally SCAM.
Looking to renew my drivers license online this website portrays itself as the place to do so. It leads you to believe that the payment you are about to make is for that license. After making the payment via credit card you are invited to download a booklet about your states driver information. This site is worth zero stars but the lowest I can rate it is 1 star.
I was taken to this site so smoothly from looking up how to replace my license. I thought it was an actual site! They ask for your card info without telling you anything about fees and then you look at your account and see that they charged you $20 for a subscription and $4 for a transaction fee! If you call their customer service number they will refund the $20 but you literally have to threaten to go to your bank before they'll refund your transaction fee. I'm so pissed! I usually can tell if I'm getting scammed but the site looked so legit! I have yet to see if I'll actually get the refund as they said it could take 7-10 days.
Reading the reviews I was a bit worried but I have to say I did receive a legitimate DL from them (took it into the DMV to verify). I would have given them a five star but they never responded to my email about my concern. I filed a BBB report against them and have since apologized on the BBB report. Not sure how I got lucky from reading all of these reviews but in my case... fast (had it in less than 10 days), easy and legit.
I was quickly working on something for business, and didn't noticed I wasn't on the real DOL site. I moved a while ago and lost my ID recently, so I thought I'd just update my address and get a reissued one. It takes you through the process as if it's real and doesn't tell you the charges are NOTHING to do with the DOL. I feel like an idiot because I have noticed these before. Any site representing a goverment site should not be allowed to buy their position on a search engine. It should be mandatory the actual governement and state sites pop up first.
Lost drivers license and thought I would renew online. I googled " lost my drivers license " and this scam site pops up at the top of the page. I was in a hurry and should have checked closer, long story short, I lost $25 to this scam! Why is this rip off site allowed to be first on google search! Beware, do not use!
As everybody here, I fell for this. Thinking that I was in our DMV site, I was redirected to another site really "smoothly" - you will not notice that it is not your local DMV site. After a month waiting for my license, I had to go to a local DMV office and get my license replaced. The officer in the DMV told me that it is happening and it is a nightmare for them to try to get that out of their system! I called the number in the credit card transaction and asked for a refund. I will report this indeed to the authorities, although I recognize that it is a battle with the Internet that we are all having when it comes to these scams.
This is a scam... thought I was getting my son's license renewed but directed me to this website and charged my card without warning and no way to cxl it... when I called the number (tel: *******007) to get my refund the lady was very nice but informed me that the charge info was on there page so the processing fee of 3.99 wasn't able to be credited back when I told her I would call my bank to dispute the remaining charges she then agreed to credit me back both amounts (3.99 and 19.99). So threaten to go to ur bank if they hassle u and they should do full amnt. We will see what happens in 7 - 10 business days... thanks everyone for posting because I thought I was the only one. The number and info on here made it a lot easier to get refunded
Thought I was renewing my driver's license, as I was redirected to this site from the DMV. I called the DMV and they said it was trying to be corrected and gave me the number *******007 to call, it worked and charges were voided!
I'm usually really smart about these things, but this week had been a nightmare and losing my drivers license was just a small part of it. There is a link on this site that makes you think you are replacing your license when you are actually purchasing a ridiculous guidebook. DON'T DO IT. I was told by a representative at DMV.org that they have been trying to get this shutdown and are unable to do it. They gave me this page to report it. They also gave me this number and I DID get the purchase voided.
*******007.
I was in a rush and fell for it like most. It is first on google search. It took name, DOB, e-mail and credit card info and now not only we are afraid of getting charged random amount but also identity theft. Absurd how they can get away with things.
I plan on reporting this to the DMV this is fraud and a scam you click on it thinking you're going to get your driver's license reinstated instead you get charged almost $4 for just making the application and another $19 for some more BS
This company is a scam to take your money.
Go to your local State DMV and renew your driver license.
Stupid Guide to Roadmap BS
I should have thought twice before giving them my card information when i hadn't even bought anything yet. Got charged $4 just for making my damn account. WTF. It was an advertisement on the government page, so honestly... thanks Mass gov for putting a scam link on your website.
THIS IS A SCAM. If you are trying to change your DMV driver's license address, this website is NOT the place to do it. I caught their charges of $3.99 and $19.99 immediately and called the credit card company to dispute the charges and close my account. I apparently was billed for a driver's license guide. BEWARE THIS IS A SCAM.
Stay away! Make sure you are on an Official ". GOV" website. Some how this company manages to have you RE-DIRECTED. They said the cancelled the "order" and all I wanted to do was renew, not order anything. Almost fell for it.
I went to the DMV sight to get a DL replacement
$10.00 I dont know how it went to this business but DONT DO IT! OH MY GOD WHAT THIEFS! THEY CHARGED MY CARD $299.00 WTF! They took my money then I had to call the bank and get them to Reverse it.
How scandalousI DID NOT GIVE YOU PERMOSSION TO CHARGE MY CARD $299.00 for a Replacement Drivers license.
Yes his website comes up first on your search. Very easy to get scammed. I called when my page froze up and I saw they weren't associated with any federal or state government. Still got charged over $3 for my mistake, and the guy could barely speak English! :(
Answer: Call the 1800 number on their site and demand a refund. I did and they cancelled the transaction and my subscription'. You can also dispute the charge with your credit card company
Answer: Oddly enough, on their "Terms and Condition" page, at the very top in red it reads: "Please Note: CLASS ACTION WAIVER section contains a binding arbitration clause and class action waiver. It affects your rights about how to resolve any dispute with Texas DLP." When you go down to the CLASS ACTION WAIVER section it reads, "THE PARTIES WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO ASSERT ANY CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER PARTY AS A REPRESENTATIVE OR MEMBER IN ANY CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION, EXCEPT WHERE SUCH WAIVER IS PROHIBITED BY LAW OR DEEMED BY A COURT OF LAW TO BE AGAINST PUBLIC POLICY." Guess they've been to that rodeo before and they know that most think they are a trusted site and "click away" on those "terms and conditions" check boxes. But I still say it doesn't give them the right to defraud everyone into thinking they are getting a license renewal. You know the State of Texas Government is aware of this ---- but it is amazing that it can be allowed to continue. I feel our government doesn't want to get their hands dirty because there are too many protections in place for fraud businesses like this. Right under our noses, and we can't even prosecute because of all their "civil liberties". This is when our fear of big brother brutality has tied his hands behind his back. In other countries, they wouldn't be allowing this, which is why they are here.
