These guys are an annoying middle man that our water company uses to pay bills electronically. They take 6 days from the time they pull the cash from your bank account until your water account is actually credited with the payment. One can only guess that they are making money off the interest float for those five days instead of just immediately sending the payment, like any other normal utility.
With same-day ACH, this process is unnecessary and annoying. In this day and age, it should not take 6 days to pay someone.

Directly debiting from your bank account (ACH) will be less expensive but will take longer to process. Paying by card will have an additional fee, but should reduce the time it takes to process your payment. Once your payment is with your biller, it takes two days for them to post the payment to your account. II paid my water bill through these people on 10/17, the money cleared my bank 10/18. On 10/28 my water was shut off by my water company. The water company said these people are in no way connected with their water department and they had requested these people stop listing their services through web searches. I contacted Doxo and was given the run around by a person that barely spoke English.

Generally speaking, ACH (direct debit from your bank account) will have a lower fee, but will take longer to process. A credit or debit card might have a higher fee, but only takes a day to process. Once it's with your provider, they take about two more days to post to your account. This information can also be tracked on your account once you've made a payment.
Doxo does also offer the option of scheduling your payments ahead of time, if that helps—though we understand that may not always be an option.

I made a payment thru Doxo to pay my AEP electric bill for $488. It was paid to incorrect account number. Don't know if I gave incorrect account number or if it was their fault. Doesn't really matter. But both Doxo and power company said there was nothing they could do. Will never use Doxo again so take my email off your list.

On the issue of fees, we completely understand your perspective. We are constantly looking to improve our affordability and your comments help us towards that goal. At this time, our most affordable options are to quickly process payments online via ACH (debiting directly from your checking or savings account) as opposed to paying by debit or credit card. Or you can sign up for doxoPLUS, a monthly subscription through which payments made from your bank account are free, with no limit on the number of bills you can pay.

Paid last month's bill 3 times because unclear if funds were transferred. Could not get help on how to get the excess transferred back to my bank. This part was a little confusing.

Using Doxo to pay a utility bill has simplified the experience. Not having to mail a check or drop off at the company location allows accuracy of date due in addition to an immediate transaction receipt. It's simple now.
Quick and easy way to pay. Hassle free for most businesses. I will use it again and again, although there are some charges on some bills.
I used their service because it came up when I googled PAY BY PLATE MA, I did not realize that they weren't affiliated with them, they charged me a fee of 3.99 that I wouldn't have paid if I used the real website and they delivered my payment late which cost me an additional $8.00. They are scamming people by having their website masked as being affiliated with Pay By Plate. I called to get this corrected and was left on hold for 15 minutes only to be told they are not responsible for late fees even though they guaranteed my payment would be posted by September 6th, it was September 12th which was 2 and a half weeks after I completed the payment on their website.

Only issue was when bill was over my auto pull limit, I didn't see email notice & it took some time to sort out the bill & late fees. A text reminder would have helped me. In general, I love the convenience & options.

In answer to your question they charge $ 19 95, and in most cases your payment, which is drafted immediately from your account, takes a minimum of 15 days to post to your account your paying. That is if in fact they actually receive your payment and don't mail it to a different entity. PLEASE, DO NOT USE EVER!

Answer: Doxo doesn't care about this. I contacted them about my business receiving checks for people we never met/took care of. They said we have no right over our business listing and that it is our responsibility to verify that every payment from them is from a legitimate source. Your payment probably was sent someone else. Based on their attitude, I would caution against using this service.
