No signal & cannot get an appointment for a tech until May 16-today is April 19. Live in a remote area, pay a high monthly rate for Dish & stuck in a contract.
Dish network is overrated. A lot interruptions. Middle of a show it just acts up. They are not really trying to improve the system. Every day I go through the same thing. Can wait till my contract is up.
I had Dish Network but the service wasn't great and it was pricey so I disconnected and went with Spectrum. Upon disconnecting, I paid my final bill. The day AFTER I paid my final bill, Dish Network reported me to a credit agency for nonpayment. I have been harassed every day starting at 8am for a bill that I paid in a timely manner for services that sucked. This has been going on for approximately a month. When I speak with the credit agency, they can see that I paid the bill and are apologetic. But Dish just keeps sending it back to them. I have finally filed a complaint with the BBB. Hopefully, I will get some resolution this way. My advice is don't use Dish Network. They will take your payment and report you to the credit agencies for not paying. The service sucks and they are theives, trying to scare people into paying twice if you disconnect from them. Look elsewhere for your tv provider.
Don't sign up! They will give you offers, make promises and tell you everything you want to hear. End of the day, once you signed, you are stuck and everything goes down hill from there.
I have had Dish for many years. They USED to be a good company but when they did the Google deal, it all changed. Software issues became the norm. This has gone on and on and on. They say they are aware of the issues and are working on them? Really? Honestly, they don't care. Their Hopper now has difficulty with external devices connected via ethernet or USB. This is how I use their service. I do not watch live tv. I watch OTA or DVR and both have had software issues that go on and on. Everything used to work and then... NOT. Their president, Mr. McKay has suggested that maybe they are not the service for me. I would agree but service is limited in my area. When I move, I doubt that I will have Dish. I would not recommend them to anyone. Tech support is a joke. I realize that I know more than the average customer but I SHOULD NOT KNOW MORE ABOUT THE EQUIPMENT AND SERVICE THAN TECH SUPPORT OR A SUPERVISOR. I should not be told a bold face lie by a supervisor (that lie was later confirmed by another supervisor). It really is the luck of the draw whether you get an idiot or someone who actually knows what they are doing. I recently had a conversation with one of their executive "specialists." I again knew more about the equipment than he did. That is inexcusable.
I have fixed my tech issues on my own with the help of the internet. That is inexcusable. We pay for service. That goes beyond just getting a signal at times in our home.
I don't know why you wouldn't offer the same discount for someone who has stayed with you and been a long time customer as you do for new customers
After loosing tv for two weeks, called to get a rebate. The woman on the line, Sarah, was wonderful. She was excellent. Took care of my rebate and we spent a while visiting. It was great. She was so accommodating and took the time to make me feel good about choosing Dish. You need more like her!
Well I got this great? Offer in the mail $700.00 in extras to include a $400.00 prepaid MasterCard, 2 year TV price guarantee, free voice remote, free premium channels for 3 months so I called my daughter (I am a senior citizen). She told me to read the reviews and boy am I glad I did! I will not become a dish customer! I hate paying Spectrum every month but I guess I don't think I have a choice. At least with them I get all my local channels and if I have a problem they are quick to respond. Thanks for all your reviews people you've saved me from becoming a "Dish" statistic!
I was a 22+ year customer. With the economic times, we are in, I wanted to reduce the amount of money going out. We decided to use a streaming service to save over $100 a month. They hard sold me before trying to discontinue. Had to call and get them to mail the boxes for the equipment return two times. I was told to wait until the equipment was returned to make our final payment, which included a fee of $200. This was fine since we were canceling a contract prior to the completion. I received a call on 04/05/2022 from a person claiming to be customer service wanting our payment or we would be sent to collections. I received an email stating they just received the equipment and since I was told to wait and pay the final bill after the equipment returned (probably in case there was damage). To get a call saying I am getting sent to collection is ridiculous. It is obvious I was being punished for leaving the service. I have over an 850 credit rating and they called two days after the return confirmation to hardball me. They should be disgusted with themselves. I fully expected to return to dish in the future, however, I am re-thinking this decision based on the poor gustopo style of customer service. I am not certain that anyone from dish reviews these messages, but if so, please take this seriously. 22+ years of being a valued customer and to get threatened three weeks after cancelling is ridiculous.
First of all you can stop signing people for two year contact without letting them know they are signing one. I called and asked for a wireless Joey and I specifically asked the Dish representative if it would change anything on my service or cost more money and his only reply was "there will be a onetime $15.00 charge". There was no talk of a two year contract. When the technician came to install the unit he also did not inform us of any contract and we assumed we where just signing a work order but low and behold we find we were duped into a two year contract.
If you look at my account you will see that I had so much trouble with Dish with my first year of service I complained at least 10 times WHY ON EARTH would I sign up for another two year term?
I couldn't wait for my first contact to be done and had I realized my time was up I would not have even called to get the new Joey in the first place.
I've been with dish for years a value customer at that. I make a arrangement to pay my bill and before the sun could come up they cut my dish off then told me I had to pay my bill to have it restored. So needless to say they cut my dish off before my check could drop that day to pay it. And then says I understand your frustration but as soon as you pay it we will turn it on. We'll guess what after this month you can stick dish up your asses cause I'm done with yawls bull$#*!. Star ratings I give you none.
I have had Dish since 1998. They have always provided quality service until recently. They have been dropping the signal. Black outs in the middle of movies. Much crap of restarting the joey or hopper to get going... Not only that, many channels have been dropped. I am a huge hockey fan and can no longer watch my local NHL, NBC sports affiliate. I have been told for the last year and a half that they " are working on it." I have been paying approximately $170 a month for what amounts to basic cable. I have tried to speak to a customer service and gotten nowhere. Tomorrow, I am calling Direct TV to see what they have to offer. So done with Dish. Zero loyalty to long term customers. What a joke.
I will never deal with this company again. I wanted to cancel my account because my husband passed away. No matter what I said about NOT being able to afford it a anymore they just continued on & on trying to sell me a cheaper package under the guise of trying to "help" me. Even after I told them no & that I couldn't afford 50cents because my bills outweighed my income now that my husband passed away they STILL tried to pitch their crap to me. Even if I become a millionaire I will NEVER order or deal with Dish again!
For 2 weeks my tv has been stuck in sap mode your "tech tme" sent me to Toshiba and said it was my tv not dish... Toshiba told me to goto dish... but Toshiba informed me my tv had the warranty from best buy to call them I did. Waited 2 weeks for the in home appointment only to find out that yes in fact it was a dish problem my tv was not installed on dish as hdmi. And when they did the upgrade they only did it for hdmi... needless to say in 20 minutes and a correct install done by a non dish person my tv is now working correctly and I have a better picture! Your service techs are crap dish network!
During May 2020 I signed a 2 year contract with Dish. After 15 months I paused my service for 6 months while going abroad. Contract was $60 per month. When I returned the contract increased to $200 per month. Spoke to 5 different consultants & each one gave a different amount. I swear they're working on commission. They state that having paused the account J lost all my credits. $60 over 24 months! Initial amount was $72! What credits? What free technical support? The technician comes out with his credit card machine & charges $100 for support. Watching the same programs for 18 months without any change. Closed account today after receiving another account for $203. Will request my bank to reverse any unauthorized money. Dish appears to be losing customers by the stoves.
They promise good service and channel selection and then cancel the channels that I signed up specifically for…they want consumer to live within contract but they don't.
My dish goes out all the time. I definitely wouldn't rely on it in inclement weather. I don't have a lot of fancy add-ons. In fact I only have one level up from basic. It still it costs more than my monthly electric bill.
I received my bill from dish network and it was to my shock $254 and for as long as l remember l've been paying $131 a month! I called to find out why there is such a huge hike in my bill and after wasting about 15 minutes talking to someone l got transferred to someone else! I was told that l had a special a while back and that special ended last month hence the higher rate and that l should've remembered when the special ended and to call and discuss a new rate! I am a senior and on many medications, l don't even remember what l ate yesterday and you're expecting me to remember a special which started over a year ago? Why don't the company email or text a reminder? Or is this what the do best when it comes to a bill or to promote more sales? The agent was so robotic but was nice enough to give me a partial discount and when l made myself so clear that l am not willing or can afford to pay more than the rate if $132 a month, she kept trying again and again to sell me a new agreement and tell me again and again about their special and tried numerous times to lock me into a 2-3 years contract! I wanted so bad to end up that conversation which took about 50 minutes. After so much of back and forth l told the representative to cancel my account if they can't honor the price l was paying, noting here that l had been a customer of 11 years, and she asked me without any hesitation about when l want the cancellation to start. I asked her if she's willing to lose a loyal customer of 11 years and that this is so unprofessional and so unethical but that didn't really matter, she was still asking me about the cancellation start date, difference of price was about $9 and that was enough amount for a company to lose a loyal customer.
Worth mentioning also that with dish l had much interruption and couldn't watch many channels l am paying extra for because they simply disappear when the weather is bad at times.
Not a good customer service or retention service.
I got dish about 2 months now and dish getting no satilite I call them 4 days with no tv on a snow weekend ridiculous then they lie about getting a 100$ gift card never got mine I'll be switching as soon as I can
Answer: Because it sounds great to have 1200 channels even if 1195 channels are nothing but infomercials, most people like me think wow I will have so many movies to watch I might have to record 5 while I watch 1 but after you get your 1200 channels you realize most every movie you would like to see can only be viewed if you pay an extra rental fee, another huge disadvantage to satellite tv is the frequency of commercials and the time the commercials are shown, regular tv used to be a 2 minute commercial break, dish network and directv have over 5 minute commercial breaks
Answer: Yes ive been with them for 15 years and when i said this is ridiculous the guy said 'OK' and nothing more they are terrible
Answer: They bait and switch with their supposed DVR recording option that they change to On Demand, making it impossible for you to watch what you thought you recorded.
