I had DIRECTV for over 2 years and my bill was always high. After my 2 year contract was up I lowered my package to the lowest one they have. It was supposed to be $107 a month plus the taxes and equipment fees. I figured my bill would be less than $150 a month. I'm a single woman and at times struggle to pay my bills so in November my service was shut off for non payment. I paid the whole bill to have service restored and my tv was back up and running. The next bill I got was for $44.00. I paid $50. The very next bill was $272. I didn't pay it and didn't get around to calling them to question it. The next bill comes due which made my balance $424. I called them to question it and the guy in the line said the billing was right and blamed it j by he way I pay my bill. I replied that that would be almost 4 months worth of billing and there was no way they would let me go 4 months without paying. He was very crappy with me and said I was being billed right. I asked to cancel my service and he transferred me to a lady that kept trying to talk me in to staying and I told her if they could get their head out of their $#*! with their billing I would change my mind but at this point I'm just done with them! My service was supposed to be shut off January 25th but it was shut off January 13th for non payment. I didn't even call to argue, I don't have the energy for their bull$#*! anymore!
I had direct TV for over 14 years and I moved from Illinois to Tennessee. I called direct tv to cancel my services due to I was moving and I was told they could service my area when in fact they couldn't when the installer came out. When you call Direct TV they don't like to take no for an answer and I had called 8 days ago to cancel and they still had my account active. I was told by one caller that I would not be billed for any further services due to all of the issues they caused me. I would not recommend direct TV for anyone They are happy to sign you up but they don't like to take no for an answer as well as all the marketing calls you get to sign up for free services and then you have to remember to cancel them its ridiculous to the fact the I have blocked Direct TV
It's been a slow walked Process for Direct TV, but they have manage to hit rock bottom. Now if your a Conservative News Outlet they remove you so their Customers can hear Truth, Go Woke Go Broke, judging from 1 1/2 star Rating they have now and your force to give them at least one star, they have arrived.
When you are a valued customer, you should be treated with more respect poor poor service, thank him very seriously about canceling! Today
Wow this company is now joining yet another round of choosing what is views on their platform. A year ago they removed OAN (One America News) for it's conservative or alternative view point. Now they are doing it again by removing Newsmax for the same reason. I used to be a customer and now I am glad I left.
They took double the amount out of my account for my bill. This created an overdraft, since I wasn't planning on paying them all that extra. When I called to complain, they told me to talk to my bank about the problem. MY BANK ISN'T THE PROBLEM! Not to mention, how terrible the service is, how expensive it is, and how much time I have to spend calling them to get issues worked on.
As a platform, I have had an acceptable experience with DirecTV. Service has been good, and a repair/adjustment to my system was done well. Being a news junkie, I see an unacceptable media bias. Watching all major news programs, it is clear the political bent of all but the BBC. Cancelation of OneAmericaNews was noted, and now Newsmax. My perception is that you need to watch multiple news sources to get a legitimate view of current events - elimination of two prominent conservative channels skews the viewing options. I am old enough to remember when "The News" was just the facts. Not the case now. DirecTV stop being manipulative.
This is really upsetting - how dare you tell me what I can watch and what I can't. If other people don't like to know the truth or NewMax, than changed the station, but for you to remove it because you don't like them telling the truth about what is going on, it's my right as a person as an American to watch whatever I choose. I will still watch them -maybe not through Direct Tv- But, I will find a station that will put them on, or watch them through the internet -and Note: I will contact all my friends and family to cancel Direct Tv, since you seem to think you can control me and everyone on what we need to know. About what's going on.
Funny as I started to read several reviews in light of my not receiving services to view my tv, I noticed several complaints about directv hawking "service plans for those who qualify". When inquiring if all living, breathing customers qualify, I was told only those customers who they haven't any payment issues do. In other words, they figure those are the ones who would have the money to pay for the service. So, if directv doesn't supply the service you already have PAID FOR, you qualify to PAY an additional amount for a "protection plan" which will tell you why your 're not getting services you already PAID FOR. Guess Lily's contract with AT&T is up and she's looking for a big increase!
I might have to change to disk tv because direct must be to cheap to keep channel 338. I had been watching this station for years and all of a sudden its gone.
I have been a customer of direct tv for 15 years because of where I live in the country. I once had a traditional landline phone service but cancelled it. I tried to turn back on today and received the worst "support". I was told they had to run credit check but if it was rejected, I'd have to pay $49 connection fee. I froze my credit as a security feature. So, they said I would have to un-freeze it, call them back and go through process again … after waiting 30 min for a rep. I told them to just run it, get the rejection and let me pay the connection fee because it is too difficult to unfreeze, call them back, set up service, and have my credit frozen again. A disabled senior citizen should not have to go through this just to turn back on phone service because I have blood clots to the heart and need access to a phone since my cellular doesn't work inside the house! Direct TV must be lead by Satan!
It's been more than 3 months that we lost the Fox local channel that DirecTv is STILL in contract negotiations with Mission Broadcasting to get back on air. We've already missed numerous season football games due to greed on both parties. I filed a complaint with the FCC & received a call from Mayra, with DirecTv, telling me they're working on it. I was told that over 3 months ago. I suggested to the FCC & Mayra to lock both parties in a room with one 16 ounce glass of water for each party, no food & no bathroom facilities & nobody leaves until there's a contract with Fox back on air for everyone impacted by this situation. I have no doubt they'll be able to negotiate a new contract pretty quick. With DirecTv losing NFL Sunday Ticket I would think it would be in their best interest to get this resolved but I didn't get any warm fuzzies speaking with Mayra.
There's lots of reasons I don't like DirecTV, 1. Is getting the wrong info and year on lots of Gunsmoke episodes. 2. is that we can't get accidentally deleted program back. When Dish you can.
It's horrible, I get basic channels and pay $149.00. It's starting price was $69 and Diretv continued to raise their price. I questioned about changes and get tossed around, never a clear answer.
I can't remember the last time I watched a day of TV without DirecTV telling me to watch a different program because they can't keep the one I am watching...working. If I wanted to be watching a different program... I would be. What's really great is... DirectTV blames ATT and ATT blames DirecTV. Well... it's DirecTV. Absolutely terrible...terrible service. I had sooooo many fewer issues with Xfinity! Can't wait til they have service here.
We have been loyal customers for 23 years and all of a sudden our channels disappeared. I called them repeatly... with people who did not understand and did not know how to help but reboot. Finally we told after three months that we needed upgraded equipment. In the last three months we got one channel and paid full price... they would not back down and would not take any charges off. I am done with them. They are not a good company and they DO NOT CARE about their customers. Oh they act nice as candy but listen to what they are saying... nothing helpful... disgusted.
DIRECTV and mission broadcasting are apparently fighting about Fox channel. We cannot get fox while they are fighting that they should be reducing bills for people since fox is not able to be on and show the World Cup you get what you paid for I guess.
We have since been calling for THREE WEEKS because we cannot log into our account online or into the app. We cannot see our billing or account information nor watch tv since we mostly use the service on our phones/iPads. We have called 12 times for assistance and help. We have reset our password and deleted and reinstalled the app. Today we were told this is a KNOWN issue with NO solution. Our 15 years of loyalty meant nothing when we were transferred to the loyalty department because they said there was nothing they could do about it. We have never missed a payment and pay for premium services. How can a company not have working services and still charge us? This is RIDICULOUS.
So, here is where we are. Over a month now of promises saying they would put my mother's money back into her account. No, it still isn't in. But, a lady calls her once a week "from the office of the president," for the past 4 weeks to harass her about it. They say, well check to see why it isn't in. But never do a thing. They are basically waiting to see if I stop putting out reviews, so they can move along, so they don't have to pay my mom. This is a horrible, high school mentality they are choosing to take. Her account is overdrawn, on fixed income, on welfare, hud and they destroyed her Thanksgiving. Even called her the day after just to harass her. She never hangs up on anyone, but she did on this lady the other day. This kills me they got her to this point! O, and the call she receives once a week to harass her, is from "The Office of The President".lol. **See attachment** I'll be back with more reviews of DirectTV I'm sure with the way this company runs their 3rd world.ship! My God!
Follow up….They still refused to refund the money. Why? Not sure. They said they would after a check to see if the service was used after the "free trial" but it was deleted 2 days before the trial was up. And they know this. I've been fighting with them for a month. Just don't use DirecTV. Whatever you do….just run…….! It's Horrible what they just did to my 70 year old mother!
Ordered the free week deal. Cancelled my subscription "2 Days" before my deadline was up. Have screenshots to prove it. I never trusted DirectTv after what some family and friends have said. That's why I just went with the free deal, for starters. So, I get a message from my bank saying, "my bank account went into the negative", my phone just got turned off and my bank account, over-drafted. What happened…. DirectTV took my money out, without my permission and even though I cancelled. Ok, so, that's not the fun part. I get in touch with them online and they say that I never cancelled. Even though I have the screen shots? Why? No at DirectTv knows. I even tried to send them the screenshots of me cancelling, but they don't care. So, now, they say, "They can't cancel me online and I have to call an agent." Even though I just explained to them, my phone got turned off. They were very rude and misleading at the least. D. O. N. T do business with DirectTv. They screwed my money, day, and need to find an online streaming service! They are thieves! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
If you get their service make sure that when you cancel you cancel on the EXACT date of your billing cycle. They will NOT issue any prorated fees paid even though they are NOT providing you with ANY service. Unethical? I think so. Unfair? You bet. Misleading? Yup. Legal? Seem to be as it's buried in the service agreement you "agree" to when you become a customer.

Answer: It is a scam 100%. Just read the reviews. You don't realize it until they got your money and you need something! They are holding peoples money from them that doesn't belong to them. They may even tell you you'll get it back. Just keep waiting, you wont. Then you have to call back and go through the entire process again. I'm on 6 weeks now/Overdraft fees/No Thanksgiving/ and I have photo proof I cancelled 2 days before my free trial was up. They just didn't want me to cancel! Lol. They do things different here. You have been WARNED my friends!
Answer: Doesn't matter since they ignore the discrepancy once they have you under contract. No wonder their rating is so poor!
