Found this site after I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and when my cardiologist told my wife the reason was, "He's getting old and fat" (I'm not THAT old). So started this diet using the tools and recipes on the site and went from approx. 216 lbs@ 5'10", to 195 lbs over about 3 months. I use many of the recipes from the site and often (even today) view some of the videos online when I want some encouragement. Through this site I have discovered other resources and other local area physicians (like Dr Westman) that I have been able to attend conferences and listen to their lectures. I find the site informative and not just a bunch of opinions that any ready can upload - it's actually useful information.
Diet Doctor is fantastic and worth joining as a paying member! I had cancer and when my treatment ended I was told about by a friend about LCHF as an anti cancer, anti inflammatory way of eating. My husband who is a Medical Doctor said " let's try it as you don't have anything to loose." So we did and joined Diet Doctor as a monthly paying couple. We wanted to hear all the full talks from Doctors and others from around the world plus get all the incredible recipes and up date news. In three months I lost seven kgs, my blood markers had improved greatly, I was off satins and my blood pressure pills were halved as my BP just kept falling! I felt great.
We have been doing it for five years and have just had my five year cancer clearance and am no longer on any anti cancer drugs YAY!

Since finding Diet Doctor New Years Eve 2017 I have been eating keto. I have since lost 15kg without much effort, I am loathed to call this way of eating a diet as such, because this is now how I eat for the rest of my life. Through this site I have learnt so much both practical and theory, but still find a lot of opposition to my way of thinking. People are still trying to tell me to eat low fat and exercise more to lose weight. I'm living proof that low fat does not work long term. I love that Diet Doctor has all the information you need in one place, this is my go to site.

There are some incredible doctors, scientists and specialists around the world who have made inspirational improvements to patient's health through diet alone. I find Diet Doctor an invaluable source of information, recipes, tips and success stories for the keto lifestyle. When you google anything about keto the amount of info there is can be overwhelming, so when I found Diet Doctor I decided that it would be my go to.

I was LCHF before the Diet Doctor site began, and had already dropped the 10kg that i had been struggling with for decades. So I was really delighted when it got underway. It's a true one-stop shop, with videos, films, recipes, success stories and most importantly, activism. The calm, respectful and evidence-based approach is excellent. I love it, just wish you could get a cheaper annual rate.

My husband and I been on the LCHF diet since almost 3 years and the dietdoctor.com website has always been our go-to ressource for information on the diet and their recipes (we love that their recipes are both in metric/imperial units and that the ingredients are calculated based on the number of servings you need!) as well as the videos/films helping us understand the latest research on the keto science.
The information provided by DietDoctor.com is cherry-picked and misleading. Their articles always seem to accentuate the benefits of low-carb diets without taking serious consideration to potential health risks.
What if the low-carb diet isn't healthy or effective for a specific individual, then what should they do?
DietDoctor.com has no answer for this question, potentially leading at-risk individuals down a path that can devastate their health.
Even the website name itself is very misleading. By calling your website "DietDoctor", you are assuming the responsibility of understanding the benefits and risks of many different diets for various populations and conditions while maintaining an unbiased take on them all.
Instead, when you go to DietDoctor.com, you are overwhelmed with information about low-carb dieting and that's it. This can lead consumers to believe that low-carb and keto diets are the only way to improve health and lose weight which is not backed up by the research literature and goes against medical consensus.
