I saw the pair of sunglasses that my mom had been wanting for a while and decided to order it about two weeks in advance to Mother's Day. Took payment immediately, no confirmation on item being shipped. Contacted PayPal to investigate and then designer optics decided to email me. By then PayPal canceled and d. O said my order was on back order but canceled. So upset, I lost opportunity to purchase from other sites at the time now prices have all gone up everywhere. Never again dealing with this phony website. Also my item was available on the site for shipping within 2-3 days. Hm so quick enough to take money, with no order shipped after 10+ days, and then reach out after PayPal investigates.
I ordered glasses Dec 2019. I ordered progressive lenses. They took a month to come only to find out the height was off. I sent them back. After the go around, they sent the replacement back with scratches on both lenses. I sent them back again. After waiting a month, I emailed asking about status. They tried to act like they didn't receive them. The stopped responding to email. Ha, I had a tracking number and insurance through USPS. THey were hand delivered. By the way, I paid shipping to send them back both times. When I recieved the next replacement, I see that they used a cheaper antiglare than what I ordered and paid for. This pair has a purple glare. People are asking why I have purple glasses. The original glasses and a slight greenish tint that was barely noticeable. Now it's May 2020 and spent $550 dollars between the order and return shipping fees. 6 months of waist. Do not order from these incompetent people. Another issue, when they returned my glasses the last time, I received two packages. The second package was another pair of glasses that I didn't order, didn't frame and prescription. Obviously some other persons order. No paperwork included. Now that person is going to wonder where their glasses are at. Just dumb.

STAY AWAY! Another buyer who got caught up with a fluffed up bargain. You save a dollar because they simply DON'T have the capacity to offer good or fair customer service. This website has policies with several loopholes that will put the buyer AT RISK! Poor business practices as they been responding to angry customers about their backed up orders/issues on social media instead of addressing customers directly and PRIVATELY! I will not accept any item from them and will continue to express the experience I have had to go through. Countless emails requesting a cancellation only for them to be slick and push through the order against my wishes anyways. Save yourself the headache and use a professional optical that may charge just a little more for the peace of mind that this cheap brooklyn-basement company simply cant afford to do.

I do a lot of research on frames before ordering online, so I had a couple satisfactory purchases from this company, but not because of the information they provide on their site, or through support, but because I researched it. Their customer service is horrible. You may or may not hear from them for up to a week after placing your order, and after they take your payment. And when they do finally send a note that your order has shipped, it's days before you can track it. (I suspect it's coming from somewhere other than New York.) Additionally, please note you cannot return RX glasses. They state this in the policy, but it's buried. There are other online companies (i. E. GlassesUSA) that are much more transparent (and you can return RX) with great customer service.

If you want to buy something from a business that doesn't ship within the days advertised and blocks you on social media when you ask for a refund this is the place! Email does not work as well. They do not contact you if you fill out a form online.

I'd suggest to avoid this business. I return the item I bought. It has been more than a month and I haven't received my refund from them yet. I do not know how to resolve this. They don't answer phone and emails. Stay away from this business.

Where do I start? Bought expensive sunglasses, they took payment immediately and then proceeded to ignore emails asking for shipment. We are now in day 7 and still no shipment of my sunglasses. Never again.

We were SUPER skeptical throughout the entire process... even after having received, opening and using the sunglasses. Even now, a few days in, we're still suspicious... haha.
And we made sure to use ApplePay (PayPal is smart too) to have a backup return/claims dispute alternative to assure you get your money back.
But I got to say, I am pleasantly surprised. Ordered a pair of Saint Laurent sunglasses that were discontinued and could not find at any Nordstrom. Only was available at our local Solstice sunglasses shop at the Glendale Galleria at full price. But the price at Designer Optics was just about half price! So had to give it a shot!
To our surprise, we were definitely glad we went for it.

I've read so many positive reviews but WAY more negative reviews about never receiving products, questionable authenticity of said products and horrible and lack of customer service. I even tried calling them a few times with NO ANSWER and reached out to customer service via their online inquiry form just to try and speak to someone concerning my order going through. Never got a response.
I was searching through google maps and street view, and see that there used to stand a brick and mortar Designer Optics shop. But recent photos don't show their signage being up anymore. That was weird.
Authenticity: they look and feel of proper quality. We tried on the sunglasses at Solstice at the mall just a couple days before and they appear to be identical. So that's a relief! Sunglasses case and packaging also seemed right.
Also, oddly enough, received all the follow up emails and notifications regarding order confirmation, order status, shipping, tracking and delivery.

I can't speak about customer service because I didn't experience any. But the entire process of ordering, follow up emails and confirmation, and even delivery were all on point!
If you decide to order through them, GOOD LUCK! Hope you have the same luck I did! If you're unsure, just be sure to use ApplePay or PayPal to pay as a sort of insurance for your refund or money back.
I'll take off. 5 of a star because I just wish there was some kind of customer service rep that would've gotten back to me and reassured me during the process. So nearly a perfect experience. But the fast delivery eventually but quickly settled my hesitation and worry of getting our sunglasses!

I saw a pair of glasses in a high end optometrist store that I fell in love with but they were over $400. I took the information and found them at Designer Optics for less than half price. AMAZING! I also received the order fast for only $9.00 more. I couldn't be happier. I keep telling friends about my great experience. I'll be back!

I ordered frames from Designer Optics. They took 2 weeks to receive them and Designer Optics sent the wrong color and top of that they were filthy dirty. I called their customer service phone number MANY times, left 2 voicemails. They literally did not answer their phone. Sent numerous e-mails. I also filled out their online return request form (or whatever it is, useless) twice. Designer Optics only response was an automated, generic e-mail "I see you have received your order, I hope you enjoy them" Esther.
I opened a dispute with PayPal and it was decided in my favor, however-PayPal told me that Designer Optics couldn't even be bothered to provide THEM with necessary information that had been requested.
I WOULD BET THAT THE POSITIVE REVIEWS HERE ARE 100% FAKE! READ THE YELP REVIEWS!
MY WORST ONLINE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVER WAS WITH DESIGNER OPTICS, PERIOD.

I got my frames faster than expected... The only thing was the plastic part of the arm that goes behind the ear was a little bowed out but luckily my eye doctor's office is a full service facility and were able to straighten them out for me so I didn't have to return them... Other than that the frames are the best

I ordered two pairs of glasses from them. At the time that i ordered them. I was told that they were in stock, and set aside for me. After 8 business days. I was sent another email. Saying that they weren't in stock. So i read a few reviews and opened a PayPal complaint. After the complaint was opened. Designer Optics asked me to close it. Because my glasses were ready, and they wouldn't send them till i closed the PayPal dispute. I said no. They sent one pair of the RX glasses, and because they sent a package PayPal ruled in there favour. They could of sent an empty box. But instead they sent one pair of glasses. Instead of two. These people are only interested in stealing your hard earned money. Through their fraudulent business. As you can see in the photos below. Only one pair of the two pairs. Could of even fit in this box.

I received the frames that I wanted and they were perfect! Had trouble with contacting the company for a tracking number. Once that problem was corrected, my frames were delivered quickly.

Just bought them at LensCrafters and they charged me $277 I looked online and found your website and got them for $110 I cancelled the order with LensCrafters saved 140.00!

My first time purchasing glasses online. Was a little nervous and hesitant to order any type of glasses online as I have worked in the optical field for a few years and had read some reviews. I decided to take a chance and buy MK glasses, just the frames only though. Price was very good less than $60 and it was delivered within a week, came with a case and cloth. Only thing was the there was only 2 bridge sizes to choose from but ill still make the size I got work becasue I love the frames! With this experience I would order from here again. Thanks!

Answer: Actually its not a scam, I took my glasses to a gucci retailer and had them verified.

Answer: Not easy at all! You can send an email, which will likely take at least a week for them to respond, or you can call. I have called and emailed several times. There are only 2 customer service people (I asked when I called) so you sit on hold for upwards of an hour. It is horrible. Then when you do finally get a person on the line, or an email response it is just, "Your glasses are almost ready. They should be shipped out soon." When you press for more detailed information they put you on hold and then come back and say that the lab is currently working on them. If you email for more information then you email is likely never returned.

Answer: I put in an order from Canada back in April 2025. There were some delays in shipping and delivery due to holiday long weekend and availability of the frames I ordered from the store. But I did get my order after a few weeks delay. So they are legitimate. Price I paid for the frames was reasonable even with the dollar exchange rate. I would consider ordering from Designer Optics again.
