I purchased a pair of crocs, a couple days later the seller claimed that they were unable to get to the post office (collection services from Royal Mail and Evri available). Before I could respond, they issued a refund. In my response, I said that I would rather have the crocs and there's no rush to ship. The seller responded, the refund has been issued and I can buy them again (they listed the item immediately and increased the price by £5). So I reported the seller and left negative feedback with the truth of what happened. My review was removed because it was deem as revengeful and/or hurtful, and not an accurate representation of how the transaction progressed or how the other user behaved. Your feedback has now been removed - kindly take this email as your reminder of the rules. Also, I have received several messages from Depop support - my account has broken Depop's rules. Reviews are available for a reasons and I left a review so other buyers would be aware of my situation. They shouldn't be allowed to pick and choose all the positive reviews when someone has had bad experience.
On the 26th of June my account was closed due to 'the use of stock images'.
Since then there has been a lot of back and forth between myself and various employees. Some asked me to provide proof that images were mine, some insisted that my photos are in fact stock pictures.
What doesn't help is that each time a different person responds to my query therefore the whole conversation is incredibly inconsistent.
I guarantee that all images on my profile were taken by me. I tried to explain many times that some were taken years ago on models (I have provided screenshots of my Instagram from about 6-7 years ago to show some of the photos). The more recent listings had pictures of clothes on either the floor or the hanger as I have a one year old child and no longer have the time to do proper photo shoot.
The staff keeps insisting that I use stock images however they are unable to prove it. Even though I showed that some photos are still in my camera roll and some are on my Instagram. I have no reason to lie about this.
I've had my account suspended in the past for using stock images, I apologised and vowed to never use stock images again. Since then I have taken HOURS to take and edit photos of all my items as I desperately wanted to do better and keep my account and improve it since it's my only source of income as a stay at home mum.
This whole ordeal has caused me an insane amount of stress and frustration as I have basically been accused of lying and stealing photos that are all mine! Even as I am writing this email I am so upset and angry that I am shaking.
Platform has unclear policies and is not a safe platform for handling money! Wouldn't recommend to anyone!
I recently sold an item to this person for about 50$. The dude said it wasn't "Authentic" though I provided proof of purchase from a trustable site that I ordered it from. The support didn't help much at all. They banned me for basically no reason. Completely sided unfairly with the buyer and was unprofessional towards me, said I was uncooperative even though I was not in the slightest. I asked questions and they were barely answered, left with more questions than I began with. The support team gas lighted me. Said that I didn't provide authenticity within the 48 hr time frame, when I sent it under 24hrs after I received the email. Overall I'm never coming back to this app, horrible horrible experience and I will never even touch the app ever again. Poshmark and grailed are better
Depop is an absolute disgrace. It's where so called customers go for a freebie, to steal money & goods from honest sellers & getting you shut down because Depop have an inefficient customer service platform and permits them to lie & get away with it. You list all details as an honest seller, actual pictures of the item, give customer services all the info they require to prove your innocence but still they go in favour of the dodgy customer after a freebie & your account is shut down & they keep your takings dispite your great track record of sales & feedback over the past few years! They shut your listings down for word descriptions also, I don't mean copies etc I mean actual style wording as apparently its classed as insulting. Had that numerous times, so this is the last straw, I don't want the account back, keep it! Plus FEES are high, as well as sellers being treated like dirt, you have to keep reshreshing your listings to get em seen daily/hourly, you can never talk to just one person in customer services, you get several in the space of an hour, it's the worst selling platform iv had the displeasure of using! Stick with other better well known selling platforms folks, save yourselves the time, money, stress & inappropriate guilty before proven otherwise. Absolute sh!$ show!
After you sell your item, Depop will hold YOUR money for 10 working days from the sale date, for EACH ITEM
I need you to RELEASE my funds. Its MY money, the buyer has bought my item and is enjoying it, you have taken your extortionate cut of proceeds and are enjoying it, why am I, the one that has actually parted with goods and put in all the work to sell it, the one who has nothing. I need you to STOP holding MY money and release it immediately. I am not prepared to wait 2 weeks after selling to recieve my money. Where in the real world does that happen?!
Everybody should take some risk in business for reward, buyers, sellers and everyone in between. You cant absolve yourself from risk at my expense while purporting to offer users protection and charging people for that. People need their funds immediately to pay P&P, to buy new stock or just to live!
If you dont trust your customers you shouldnt be in business!
I myself and many sellers have gotten suspended/banned without a reason/without a good reason! They'll literally ban and/or suspend your account for anything even as small as "mis using hashtags" you cant even use a hashtag that relates to your item (like sisterbrands) nor do they allow an appeal to bans. Suspensions can last up to month, they literally expect you to beg on your knees for forgiveness. Many people have gotten banned without warning—they'll say they give you a warning but don't even wait 5 minutes before banning you permanently without letting you appeal. Customer service is literal garbage as well, the app is littered with scammers, bots, dropshippers, and predators.
Depop claims to be environmentally friendly and sustainable yet allows aliexpress dropshippers… that should speak for itself. Please be aware and choose a better resell app, there's so many! Depop is a money hungry capitalist pig. Just wanted to warn sellers before they decide to sell here!
Awful awful awful. No seller protection at all, even when an item is sent tracked if the buyers claims they take the money back out your account and you're left without the sold item and without the money for it. They just take the money without saying! DO NOT USE! I've had much better service with Vinted and EBay
I purchased from a "Top Seller" that had perfect 5 star reviews. But my items ended up being from Aliexpress and not "vintage". Since I used PayPal they gave me a return quickly, but Depop has been less than helpful. I reported her account and sent Depop multiple emails... no response. No action. Nothing. So if you're browsing the web and wondering who I purchased from *******@milaa03. Don't buy from her. I've posted photo proof here.
Removed all my items for sale within 2 days. Even items that sold years ago! Wtf?
I didn't list anything on Depop for ages now as it's 99% time wasters on there. Go EBay and Vinted. They are the best
It was awesome, until they wanted all my PayPal info. And with no explanation, I was charged again and again. READ THE FINE PRINT! I'll happily take the 20% from eBay, mercari, etsy, etc. Sucks but atleast more trustworthy.
Depop has one of the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. I got suspended for no reason and they are not helpful at all with answering questions in why I got banned. No contact, every email is auto generated.
I'm a seller, who has sold 90 items there with all of 5 stars good reviews.
I know I'm not a big seller at Depop compared to those sellers who sold thousands of items. But I think I shouldn't be treated like this!
They send me an email to notify me:
You have double accounts, so we deactivated both of your accounts because you violate our policies.
How can I know I can't have another account? I didn't use that account for like 2 years, just for this ridiculous reason, they deactivate both of my accounts.
Also, I checked my email box every day, I received their email to let me delete the other account no more than 1 day. They can't even wait 24 hours to get my permit.
Then they removed many of my listings. When I logged my account again, they move upward all of my sold out listing and move downward all of my still selling stuff. It makes people feel like this is a deactived account.
One listing is removed because I include another brand's name. I'm not spam, I just describe the tweed jacket's STYLE as similar to Chanel's classical tweed jacket.
Other items because I used the official website's model pictures.

Even though I violated your policies, since you can send me messages and emails to notify me you have removed my listings, why can't you notify sellers to change to modify their listings within one day? Even though I used official website photos, I write the descriptions and measured the clothing by myself. All of these things spend my time!
They also removed my listing just because I include one Brand's name, even though all of the photos are taken by myself.
That is what they will do to the seller's account!
They won't give you second chance or don't want to think of what is a more acceptable way.
I realized this is totally a disgusting company using some beautiful slogans and mission statements to cover their rude behaviors.
They stated that all they do is for building a better community. Okay, I think your community is only composed of BUYERS instead of SELLERS, right? Because you treat Depop sellers as $#*!. Without any respect.
My son bought a pair of sneakers and the merchant said they were shipped to a po box that us bull$#*!. Meanwhile the usps said the package that was sent and the lost, weighed 8 ounces. Will be doing whatever it takes to get my son a refund.
Anytime I have had any issues with depop they are no help. They don't have a number you can call and their email customer service is a joke. I emailed them asking a question and they emailed back saying they weren't accepting emails and that i had to fill out this generic form online that didn't even list my issue. Whoever works customer service I hope you know you suck. Do NOT recommend

Trust pilot delete my post when I I posted the same thing over there. Can't trust reviews on trustpilot or depop.
I sold a brand new pair of shoes. Buyer asked for a refund, claiming that she didn't wear them, that they were too small. I allowed the refund if shoes were not worn and still new. She sent them back worn, scratched and completely damaged. I immediately notified Depop (with photos of the damaged shoes) and got no response. I've sent them multiple emails. The buyer got a refund. I am here to warn you, this app is crap!
I have NEVER in my life experienced such horrendous customer service in my entire life. They have no live chat, no phone line, you can only contact them through email with which they take around 4-5 days to reply.
I sold 3 items on Depop and one of which was a £100 Louis Vuitton tie (Take in mind they send the payment out 3-4 days after a buyer has purchased your item). I woke up the following morning to my account being banned with no email or reasoning as to why. I spoke to around 10 different employees all telling me completely different things. For example, one of them said 'unfortunately we cannot re-activate banned accounts' and then another employee asked for 'proof of postage and receipts that I had in fact sent out the items'. So literally all employees contradict each other.
Anyway, after sending all relevent info (proof of postage, receipts, proof of authenticity), it has been a month and they still have not got back to me regarding my payout. I emailed them again this week asking them what the hell is going on, their response was 'We have reached out to the buyer to clarify a few things then we will get back to you'.
THEY ARE HOLDING MY MONEY FOR NO REASON. I AM 99% sure the way they are going about this is illegal, Please please please for the life of me, stay far away from this company and just use ebay for selling your stuff. They have amazing customer service, live chat, and you can request a phonecall in 2 minutes. I will never over my dead body use Depop again. A profile with over 50 5* Star reviews to be treated like this! Unreal!

Take money out of your account with no notice what so ever. Resolve the issue in hand, then take the money out again. Been waiting over a month to get my money back and none of their customer service team seems to care about their customers.

My grandson loved the jacket! Our only problem was that the post office lost the package. It took a week after they said it was delivered to track it down. But this was totally the USPS error!
Answer: Major scam. And not worth the fees they will charge you to sell. Rubbish and rude customer service, and the people buying off you will try to scam you by lieing to Depop and PayPal saying they never received the item. But when you track the tracking number they've signed for the item themselves!
Answer: An apparent availability of items that were not available elsewhere. Turns out that the reason that they were available is that they were fakes and frauds.
Answer: It might be a scam honestly, i would say open a dispute with them. Mercari is a lot better btw, way cheaper. Mercari also holds the money until your item is delivered and you inspect and review the item.
Answer: Right with you on this. Jerks banned my account and I've never had any bad reviews and nothing but positive sales but they will continue to allow scammers to steal your stuff and still haven't seen any of my payments from items I sold since they stopped my account. They said today I should get my money by 7/9/2023 it's 9/6/2023. So apparently they don't even know what month we are in right now. Idiots
