Online purchase
February 4, 2021

I am writing about my experience with an online purchase. I ordered several pairs of bridal shoes to try on. Due to Covid, I did not want to go into store after store looking for shoes. My order arrived except for one pair of shoes. I contacted customer service, and had the worst experience. I was told they had to contact the vendor, and after days of not hearing from customer service, I had to reach out again. Customer service told me to look around my neighbors house to see if they went there. They did not, in the end customer service offered me a discount to purchase the shoes again! Why on earth?! I was never given the pair, why would I even spend another penny at David's Bridal. Worst Customer Service Ever!

All the staff and especially Suzette in Alterations were wonderful to work with and I found my wedding dress. Suzette was especially helpful to get it alterd in 3 days as the Wedding is on the fourth day. Everyone was helpful and friendly.

Worst customer service
December 15, 2020

Too bad zero stars isn't an option!
After buying my bridesmaid dress and shoes 5 weeks ago for a wedding on Dec 12th, my boyfriend (the best man) contracted covid a week before the wedding. I tested negative, however the bride and groom didn't want to take any chances since l live with my bf. Therefore, we both could not attend the wedding. I explained this to the store manager who claimed her hands were tied in the department of refunds and that l would have to call corporate. Mind you, my dress was never altered or even tried on since l left the store, same with shoes. Everything still in the bags it came in. So l call corporate, I'm told it's up to the store manager's discretion and l told them she said to call them because her hands were tied. After 2 days they called me back just to repeat their 7 day return policy and deny refunding me my money and instead offered me a store credit, of which l have zero use for. After repeating my situation the corporate manager Jen just kept rattling off the 7 day return policy like a robot, didn't even sound like l was talking to a real person, more like a recording. This company gives ZERO $#*!s about the customer and acts as if they don't have the power on a corporate level to authorize a $120 refund from their multi-million/billion dollar company piggy bank. I've never dealt with a more crooked, careless, cold company in my life and l truly hope their disdain for customers catches up to them one day. I plan on telling every single person l know whose getting married NOT to go to David's bridal because they don't care about anything but your wallet!

I purchased a wedding dress for my daughter, a bridesmaid dress for a younger daughter, and a dress for myself for my daughter's wedding. The selection was limited due to holidays and perhaps COVID. I reluctantly went ahead and ordered a dress I could not try on due to limited availability assuming that if the dress did not fit when it arrived, I would have the opportunity to try it on and change my mind at that point. At no point did a David's Bridal Associate mention that I would not have the opportunity to see the item I was purchasing before it became a final sale. Afterwards, I found a dress from another retailer online that was better suited for the occasion, was shipped to me quickly, and I was able to try on at home ( AND RETURN IF NECESSARY). I loved the new dress and went ahead and bought it certain that because David's Bridal had not provided a dress, I could return a dress that had not been provided - and that I wasn't given the opportunity to try on. When I phoned the store to let them know that I did not plan to pick up the dress, and wished to return it I was told that I only had 7 days after purchase to return the item and that the time frame had passed as I patiently waited for the dress to arrive so I could try it on. I called corporate, but was told the same thing. David's Bridal has lost all future business from this customer and any family members and friends that I associate with. This is the worst return policy and customer service imaginable, and has certainly left a lasting impression. Buyers beware! You cannot return items you have never seen, tried on, or touched!

BAD return policy
November 28, 2020

I ordered a dress in the store, and it came in two months later. I went to the store and tried it on and didn't like it. Refunds are only given after one week from the PURCHASE date and exchanges up to 60 days from the purchase date. So, even though I never even HAD the dress, no refund and ALSO, since past 60 days, no exchange either. Does this make sense to anyone?

I went to DB December 2019 as the bride. I had my time slot which allowed for me to try on 5 dresses. I had a couple others I was interested in trying on, however they were so quick to conclude the visit and made me reschedule for another fitting. The dressing rooms were empty across and the bridesmaids asked if they could try on a few dresses however they were told no. The store was not busy. We left. I purchased my wedding gown elsewhere. Then I called DB in June 2020 to discuss bridesmaid dresses, I was told August was plenty of time for delivery in November 2020. I took 1 of my 4 BMs in August, and she picked her dress, only to find out at the register, it wasn't available... then she had THREE dresses to pick from. No others were available. Then my 2nd BM went and had 7 options, perhaps size differences or location. I took my junior BM and they had no options, I looked online, and the dress she wanted was on DB website, so I ordered. My last BM made appointment and picked dress, however we are still waiting for delivery?. For some reason I tried one last time with my mom. I made a 4:30 appointment online. When we arrived the woman told me it was for 530. I pulled email and she INSISTED I was wrong. I showed her email and then she quickly blamed computer system. We had help from the same woman from the first trip, and again She provided my mom with a dress that wasn't available, which we didn't know until she wanted that one and went to pay. I pulled it up on DB website and ordered it, as it was available online! She received it in the mail 4 days later. We are done! It is as if they don't care about brides, or customers because they only have to work with them one time and don't care about future relationship. Awful way to run a business.

What a wonderful experience
September 23, 2020

Today was my third fitting at David's Bridal in Scottsdale, AZ. Ny seamstress, Diana, has made altering my dress such a wonderful experience. She has been patient, professional, encouraging, and the most supportive person I've dealt with in this particular store. She has turned my beautiful wedding dress into my PERFECT wedding dress. I cannot thank her enough for what she has done - and her kindness will be with me as I walk down the aisle. Thank you, Diana.

Today I went into David's Bridal on Abercorn St in Savannah Ga. To pick up my dress for my daughter's wedding. The older Asian lady at the front desk asked for my name. She spelled Horton (out loud): W-H-O-R...
I said ‘STOP!' And gave her the correct spelling. I've had this last name almost 24 years and have NEVER had anyone spell it like whore. Never. In this establishment, for this occasion, this is the very last experience I should have had. I am furious, as we have our daughter and all of her brides maids buying from here! I am mortified, embarrassed. Thank you the lovely experience...

Delightful
August 9, 2020

My visit to David's Bridal was a treat. Brandy was such a wonderful help to the bride to be and me a brides maid. She picked dresses that would flatter my full figure and made this day very easy, memorable and exciting. I'm so happy for my friend who said yes to her dress that Brandy picked just for her. We both left feeling happy and blessed with the choices we've made because of the help, patience and kinds displayed by Brandy.

Terrible all around
August 5, 2020

Where to begin... despite an empty store, the sales associate hurried me through my appointment, scoffed that I had a few designs I wanted to try on in person, and generally was unhelpful throughout my appointment. Then, I never received any notification that my dress was ready (were dresses still being made during the pandemic? Did I have to wait longer to receive them?) Then, I got a text message months later telling me the dress I had paid for had been at the store too long. It was now considered abandoned, couldn't be refunded, and would be thrown out unless I called this number. I did, but no one answered and the machine hung up on me. Still don't have my dress, but will absolutely never shop from here again! Go literally anywhere else, you could not pick a worse place than this.

HORRIBLE customer service experience. Do not order online from this business or you will regret it! Their website is poorly designed, very slow, and often doesn't work at all. Returns are laborious and confusing. The dresses are all identified by 10 word names rather than a simple number. Very tedious. If there's a problem, you can only communicate via text message on a phone -- phone calls are only answered by a message telling you to text, so you can't simply TALK to a person, and there's no e-mail address. Texting and waiting for responses takes forever. I spent literally all day on this yesterday, the issue wasn't resolved, and then the next day, the whole thing started all over again with a new rep as if nothing had ever happened yesterday. I could've explained the whole thing in a 5 minute phone conversation. It was a mistake on David Bridal's part, not mine, and no one should have to go through this just to get a refund for a dress already returned.
We're in a pandemic, and if this business hopes to survive, it needs to make some serious changes in how it deals with customers online and create a 21st century website that actually works rather than being constantly frustrating.

Horrible experience
June 11, 2020

I made an appointment for bridesmaids & wedding dress shopping, got there with the girls & they would only let us do the bridesmaid dress. Said they only do one at a time. I live over an hour away & was never told that on the phone when I scheduled both over the phone. This was the first disappointment in them! See my other review for more details...

Wouldn't recommend
May 20, 2020

If I could give them zero stars I would they are horrible. I had to cancel my wedding due to a world pandemic. This place is giving my bridesmaid a horrible time returning their dresses. They bought their dresses in early March no one knew that this was going to happen. Their receipt says 14 days after receiving order thats the policy they bought their dresses under, they're not letting any of them get their money back. They're very rude and unprofessional stating "we can change the policy whenever we want". I'm very disappointed and will never recommend to anyone. Unfortunately they're doing this to alot of people during a crisis like this its sad and pathetic.

What's sad is that I had ordered a dress from there and had to cancel my wedding due to this unfortunate situation (which is already stressful enough) right after ordering the dress.
The dress wasn't even shipped yet to the store, on my receipt it states you have 14 days to return/refund dress once receiving...
All of a sudden they told me their policy had to change so they can stay in business...
But they are more then happy to screw us brides over in the process... they had no sympathy what so ever...
(yet my receipt states the policy that I agreed to at the time of purchase)
Not only is this illegal but it's just cruel

We had a bridesmaid reveal for my daughter and 4 of her local bridesmaids. I asked for help a few hours before the appointment from a manager and wasn't having much luck. Then along came a ray of sunshine named La Shaunda. She totally understood what we we trying to accomplish and made it so much fun.
We started with the girls each having 6 minutes on the timer to pick a dress for the bride to try on and on the last dress she came out with a sign to ask her girls with flowers and boxes. La Shaunda assisted in every way and made them feel like queens when it was their turn to try on dresses and pick which one they liked most. We loved her so much we got her a gift. Thanks girl, we now consider you a friend!

Consultant Review
March 9, 2020

My daughter the bride Laura, my daughter Danielle the bridesmaid and myself Diana, mother of the bride had the great privlidge of working with Jocelyn. She stayed with us the entire time we were there and made some wonderful suggestions for my daughter (by the way she choose the first dress she tried on) and she knew exactly what she was looking for. I was not sure what I wanted and I was able to walk out with my dress collection the same day. We all got our dresses and were ve happy and excited. She is a great asset to your company.

Thursday Feb 26 th 2020. I made 7 calls including out of province the dress was described exactly how shown online along with code provided. Over a out spent running in circles. End result Winnipeg informs me I can located this dress for my niece grad in her size and colour she wanted in London Ontario. I'm thankful I did not drive a far distance even cross the border and pay to have the dress shipped from out East when it's a hour from where I live. I will take my niece to try on this dress she can't stop talking about or smile on her face I hope customer service is better in store or perhaps show inventory online? Like most clothing retailers considering its 2020. A reply would be greatly appreciated to explain where each retailer can't connect with others

Just got off the phone with a store manager on David's Bridal. I decided to drop out of a wedding last minute because I will be flying internationally. I am sitting on a final sale bridesmaid dress that I do not need.

In 2019, customer service in other apparel companies have been elevated to accommodate the needs and satisfaction of the customer. I would assume that David's Bridal would be no different. If something is not satisfactory, a means to accommodate the customer should be of first priority. For example, giving a customer store credit. If the person no longer has need for the dress, at least permit them to have store credit online or in-store.

The operations in David's Bridal is antiquated and inefficient. The retail location and the Dot.Com store are not linked and are treated as separate entities. That is such an archaic approach to running a retail clothing brand.

NOT TO MENTION, David's Bridal (unless you get it altered) is not a customizable purchase. They act like they've sent the order for the garment to be specially made and sent to the dye house for a custom color. If it was a customization, unaltered design, then of course it should not be returned or exchanged. However, all their styles are sitting in a warehouse somewhere collecting dust, ready to be sold. It's not a big deal to enable in-store or online credit.

Onto my next point, David's Bridal is the mass market supplier of Bridal apparel, not some high end store. Most of their customers are likely to be on a budget. So when they are denied means for store credit, that David's Bridal knowing that they can take advantage of this consumer market and think they can get away from taking their money.

There is no fostering of customer relationships or honest store policies. It is antiquated, wasteful and does not follow sustainable, compliance standards. Do NOT hop at David's Bridal. Especially the location on W Pico Blvd in Los Angeles, CA.

Save your money for a store that has a more accommodating, relevant return policy and isn't still stuck in the 90s in the worst way.

Vanessa is the EXPERT
August 1, 2019

Vanessa knew exactly what to pull for me when I told her I wanted a sexy beach wedding dress. She nailed it. I found my dress within an hour along with my mother's dress - didn't even think that was possible! I'm very pleased and will be sending my bridesmaids to Vanessa only :) She will get the job done just by listening to her customer! THank you Vanessa! Anna B.
