I usually have my orders delivered in store to avoid porch pirates. It's easy and the store clerks call to jet me know it's arrived.
It was disappointing to me that CycleGears's store did not have the inventory of weights needed to give me a fully-balanced installed tire. I bought the tire frome CycleGear; went to the store with my front tire removed; paid $30 for mounting and balancing; but came away with an apology from the store stating that they could not exactly balance my tire. I was told to bring it back at some future date. BUT this means I have to again remove it and make ANOTHER trip back in if I wanted perfect balancing.
The products I received are what is referred to as Fit for Use and Fit for Purpose. That is the goal of all manufacturers, and it was well met with these products. The Alpinestars Tech 3 boots are great, breaking them in now, the Alpinestars SMX-1 Air v2 Gloves are excellent and the Cardo Freecom 2X Headset sounds fantastic and I can be clearly heard. Jasmin was the Cycle Gear expert that assisted me once again. Previously she assisted me with my purchase of a Alpinestars Bogota Pro Drystar Jacket and a Sedici Strada 3 Primo Ritmo Helmet. Jasmin installed and tested the Cardo FreeCom2X in my helmet, made sure I was happy with the way the gloves fit and ensured I was happy with the fit of the boots. All the crew at Cycle Gear in Schaumburg has been great and they are all a reflection of Jasmin's expertise.
The process to search and purchase was very easy to use.
Product was exactly what I needed on my bike. I have 44 teeth in the rear and 16 teeth in the front and this chain was a perfect fit. Very pleased.
Order was shipped very fast, only problem I had was, I left wheel for mounting and balance after being notified was ready for pickup my son went to pickup I thought I had paid in full when dropping off but was not the case I had to pay for mounting upon pickup, not a problem but just assumed paid in full at drop off
Inconvient for my son luckily he had cash on hand to pay. I should have been informed that I still owed for laborat time of order not a problem but just a heads up in case some one else is not so understanding. Great job other than that Wii purchase from again. Thanks

I shopped at my local Cycle Gear store looking for a tinted shield for a HJC helmet. The associate was very helpful and advised me that the shield I took off the rack was incorrect for my helmet. The associate performed a computer search and ordered the correct shield, and shipped it to my home. A very good experience.
It was a great helmet. It was quiet yet. I got good. Airflow in it. I was very pleased.
I had to order a second pinlock because the visor was not properly cleaned prior to install. I showed up and presented this problem and the employee ordered me another pinlock. The same employee installed the second pin lock and did an even worse job at cleaning the visor. The pin lock is usless as I can't see at night, the oils on the visor catch the light and blind me. I've wasted money on two pin locks
I looked at tracking to determine when my order would be delivered to the store. I discovered that it had been delivered 2 days earlier. Fast shipping however was never notified it has arrived. When I called to confirm the person at the store said they would check and call back. After an hour I went to the store to see where my order was.

If you find a better deal else where but it's not at your local store, they'll give you that deal as long as you've got the ability to prove it
Love that I can get the tires shipped to store and then installed at a fraction of the cost of a dealer. Super convenient and easy.

Delivery time should be 1-2 days and told before purchase. If I knew it would be 5 days I wouldn't order.

I was visiting another state and found free time to visit a local Cyclegear to try on helmets. The staff was very helpful and offered to order the helmet I wanted and have it delivered to my home. The helmet arrived exactly as predicted and fit perfectly after the staff helped with sizing.
When I walked in the staff was cheery and inviting, they answered all my questions and even walked me through a couple of demo's with the comm equipment they had to offer. Walked in feeling unsure of which to buy and walked out with all the information I needed to purchase the right product and they even offered to install it for me. The young gentleman, Sean I think was his name, had my phone connected and features tested before I had to figure them out on the fly while riding! Made riding that much more fun!
Answer: Your local dealership will almost inevitably be superior to CycleGear, in every respect. The reason for that is your local dealership will cease to exist if they don't offer their customers the service, support, and products that they are looking for. You might not find it on the shelf right then, but every dealership has the ability to order in what you want and they will price it fairly, because they know that you can go elsewhere. These internet retailers need to be put out of business, by us. All we have to do is shop locally.
Answer: There's nothing legit about the website. They have stores in many different cities around the US, but their customer service is almost as bad in-store, as it is from their corporate call center and internet department.
