Karma uses a combination score that is consistently 50 to 70 points below the actual scores reported by TU, EXP, and EQ. Karm reports my score as "poor" (606). I have 8 open accounts, never a late payment, one bankruptcy (dismissed, no discharge) that is 91/2 years old. Creditors offering free credit scores average around 680-690. It's low because my usage is high on several accounts (90%). Better for you to use a real FICO, not their FAKO.

Scores are BS
June 10, 2016

I worked my butt off to improve my score, using Credit Karma to keep track. I thought they were for real, since you can track what is in your report account by account. CK had my score at 711 on TU and 710 on EQ. Foolishly applied to refinance my car loan and got rejected with a TU score of 682 according to the lender. Then tried one of those offers that keep coming in the mail from Bank of America. Got turned down with a score of 683. You can't talk to anyone at CK but I would like to hear them tell me and others they are not operating a scam, fronting for those "recommended offers" they post.

Un-reliable scores
January 22, 2016

In my first review I stated that I was in the market for a new car and that I hoped the dealer wouldn't use creditkarma's scores. Well, I bought a new car and the interest rate was higher than I expected due to the low credit score I was given. Not sure if it was CreditKarma or not, but my scores from other sources was in the 730 to 750. My credit score for the car purchase was around 680. My score is now 669 according to creditkarma, but my score is in the low 700's from other sources. I sure don't understand how these scores are arrived at and why there is such a difference.

Credit Karma sucks!
January 10, 2016

I forgot my password, so I tried to reset it. But, they never sent the instructions to my email... After trying multiple times. So I tried making a new account, but it wouldn't let me do it using the same email. In stead it sent me back to reset my password AGAIN! And again it didn't work.
So then I tried to contact them... Put in all the information, and explained the situation. But after I finished... the submit button didn't work!
This site is annoying, and doesn't work! Especially if you have a problem! I'll never use it again!

Scam
October 5, 2015

Their scores they give you are way off. I had been rebuilding my credit for about 8 months. They showed my scores asset or below 580 when in fact I was over 620. Had I not checked with a loan officer I would not be getting ready to close on my home. Don't trust the scores they report to you.

SCAM
September 27, 2015

Credit Karma is a SCAM! Stay OFF OF THIS SITE! My credit score finally bumped up after some drop offs and I was recommended to apply for a few credit cards to begin establishing good credit again. So I carefully chose one to apply for that I was eligible for and low and behold... I was DENIED and my score dropped 60 points immediately! RUN AWAY FROM THIS SCAM SITE

Untrue scores
May 26, 2015

Yes it is totally free but totally inaccurate. Scores are 30% higher than the scores when you print your credit report from experian, trans union and equity and a mortgage company will not accept credit karma over them.

Twice in the past year I've checked my score on credit karma and twice they have been wrong when I went to get a loan. Not by a few points but they were over by 100! Points. Now my credit score is down a couple more points because I tried to get loans based on what I thought I had from credit karma. I think they try to entice you into the site by giving you false good news. I will never trust that site.

The best credit site I have seen. And now with both Equifax and Transunion scores updated weekly!

The site has phenomenal tools, graphs, sorting, and multiple views to provide an excellent picture of your credit profile.

The only downside is that the scores are not true FICO but they work well enough for relative comparisons and to get a pretty good idea of your score range.

They also have an alert system for credit report changes which seems to work well but I haven't had much activity so can't really speak to that.

The site is ad and referral supported so you will see many ads for credit related products, as well as links to apply for the same. But they are not that intrusive and do not detract much from the overall site experience.

Okay, I like CK, but honestly I prefer Credit Sesame. They offer the same services, but additionally free identity theft insurance. I haven't found anyone else that offers this service for free. I also like the Credit Sesame user interface better, but that's just a personal preference.

Got a free score, but they don't have an actual credit report(which I wanted to see). They call it a "report card" but it's missing a lot compared to my trans union report from annual credit report

I love credit karma
February 7, 2014

I love credit karma. I’ve upped my credit score over 100 points by combining it with advice I found around the internet. But they recently removed part of their credit simulator tool, which really sucked, because I used it all the time.

The only free credit check I've ever seen online. They say that it's just so because the score is estimated rather than a raw credit score, but they let you know about where you stand and how to improve your standing, as well as projecting consequences for missed payments and the like. Pretty good for the average joe who's making some attempt at staying on top of his score.

Finally, there is a totally free credit monitoring agency which allows you to access your credit scores anytime and instantly. They make their money through advertising and offer tempting products ranging from low interest car and house loans to low interest rates on credit cards, some with an introductory rate of 0% interest for a year. Yes, you can migrate your other cards to this no interest 1 year card.
-You can consolidate all your cards on this site so that you can see balances, graphs, and other useful information.
-There are so many features to this free service that I cannot begin to tell you all of them. I urge you to at least visit the site and play around.

I have been using this Credit Karma website for quite some time.
It wasn't until they lowered my credit score 9 points based on information they supposedly received from Trans Union which also changed all my credit limits of my 11 credit cards to zero. I do not mind the credit score but the false information that my credit limits were reduced to zero made it hard for me to tolerate.
I contacted 1 or 2 of my credit card issuers and they told me that my credit limits were OK and that I was in very good standing with them.
I contacted Credit Karma and they said that their records were based on what Trans Union gives them and told me to contact Trans Union which I did.
Trans Union was very helpful and they showed that all my credit card limits were OK and in good standing and told me to contact Credit Karma. Sounds like a runaround right?
So this is why I am writing this.
