The overall reputation of the company is significantly tarnished by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to high subscription costs and poor service quality. Customers frequently express frustration with the app's navigation, excessive advertisements, and limited content availability, particularly regarding language options and image quality. Additionally, complaints about customer service highlight issues with billing practices and a lack of timely support. While some users appreciate select programming, the prevailing sentiment suggests that many feel the service does not deliver value for money, leading to a strong inclination to cancel subscriptions.

Crave on Samsung stopped working 3 days ago. Screen frozen at EXIT APP. Can't exit or cancel. This is the latest problem. On other occasions the video won't load or loads then stops working. Sometimes I have had to do special sign in on my laptop to be able to continue the watch Crave on tv. A real pain...seriously considering cancelling at end of term. Too much frustration.
Do not get this, you will be sorry! You pay and no service, money grab! Warning do not buy this its horrible, run
I signed up for Crave back in May of 2019 to watch the Game of Thrones. They offered a 1 month free trial option at the time, if required I could extend it. However, there was a typo in the email address i provided and as such, received no confirmation of my subscription. Also, I couldn't access Crave and obviously couldn't avail of the services either. I assumed that there was some issue and I wasn't subscribed, since I didn't receive any intimation via phone or post (they have my phone number and address). I was charged for the services though. I called and tried to rectify the issue. After almost 45 minutes on call and a back and forth with the agent (Cristy), I was informed that I wouldn't receive a refund. She couldn't share her last name with me either. No managers or supervisors could get on call to talk to me about this. I tried to correct my email address and cancel subscription so as to not be charged for any more of their services. That too couldn't be done on the phone. They are to contact me in 24 hours confirming my email address and then 24-48 hours following that, I could cancel my subscription. In summation, I have been charged for a service that I was not provided and they have an incompetent system in place to protect themselves and keep charging unsuspecting customers. All my calls are recorded as well and I will be using it as evidence at the Better Business Bureau. Refrain from subscribing with this bogus company to avoid a similar experience.
Has a bunch of random stuff that no one cares about but no actual TV shows. No big bang theory, no modern family, no 2 broke girls, no friends.
Isn't this sight speed to be for "watch all your favorite shows any time" well there is no actual TV shows!
We signed up for Crave to access Dr Who, and have been watching it a lot because they have several shows we like, but we aren't totally happy. First off, they charge separately for tv, movies and Stars/HBO. So Netflix is less than half the price even after they've raised the price several times. There is also an annoying tendency for the title and progress bar often stay up through play and you have to exit and restart several times to make it disappear.
When watching a movie it doesn't let you start where you left off. It's more expensive per month than Netflix is and works way worse. Why can't they learn from Netflix?
If you have the option, use ANY other streaming service or pirate. Yes, it's so bad I encourage you to pirate every title Crave offers. With every other service, you pay your fee, and get access to content; simple equation. With crave you pay your monthly fee, but if you want to watch the last two season of your show, you have to pay a second subscription to HBO or Starz or whatever else. You search to see if they have a particular movie or show, it'll show you they have it, but you can't watch it, you have to pay another subscription to watch it. And these secondary subscriptions are not a couple bucks here and there, it's the SAME PRICE AS THE ORIGINAL SUBSCRIPTION! For full access, you're paying something like $40 a month! I fully encourage pirating every title crave offers. Buy Netflix and Hulu or Prime, then pirate everything else. Crave not only doesn't deserve your money, but they deserve to lose money for the sheer contempt they hold for their customers.
Comically bad app. Closed captions often don't work, video quality often bad, sometimes you need to log out and back in to start streaming, progress on episodes doesn't save properly.
I have the tv app on my 45 inch samsung tv, the app itself works fine for me but it's incredibly laggy, the continue watching isn't good at all it just restarts the episode from the beginning and theres no fast forward or rewind. Also for some reason every time I open an episode of something it always has the play bar, show name and episode number menu up the entire episode, when it's supposed to go away after a few seconds. Absolutely horrible tv app that needs a complete rehaul in everything about it. The photo I added was still going and I don't know what button would make it go away.
I used to love watching CraveTV but that love has soured into hatred for the service. I have had the service for as long as they have offered it and it worked flawlessly until now. Now for what ever reason my AppleTV's decided that every time I open the app on the TV it would create a clone device on my account which caused a device limit error. I emailed them with my issue and expected a response. None came so I ended up calling after a couple days of waiting for a email to come in. I then got someone who told me to remove all of my devices to fix the issue (MY COMPUTER BROWSERS WERE WORKING) now that I removed them on their trouble shooting after asking before I did this if it was a good idea I can no longer watch the service PERIOD! Until August 3 practically half a month away. I have Crave +HBO so basically lost my $20 for the month. I asked if they could remove this block and they could not so I asked if they could refund me the charge and you know what they did? They Quoted their terms and conditions... Nice Because of them and their troubleshooting I can no longer watch Crave on ANY of my devices... Useless and complete garbage good bye crave and you can say good bye to my telling everyone that you have a great service and being in a tech job for sales that will be a lot of people. But who am I, just a single person a drop in the bucket for your enterprise. All because of a log in limit which no other service has and a service tech who logged me out of all my other devices in troubleshooting.
Tried to buy the Starz upgrade. Couldn't buy in-app - most ignorant business decision since Tim Hortons decided to refuse Debit purchases. Then I got an "error, please try again later" on the website... frustrated, I called Crave "Support" Tech who said my card appeared out of date. I said that could not be true, as I had just upgraded to HBO on the 24th of June. To this, he asked what that charge was (exactly) which seemed odd. Then he put me on hold. Came back and said the 'only way to help me was to get: the amount of the Crave subscription charge, my credit card details, email & password!
Why are support ppl asking for sensitive data? If I had actually given all that info, he would have had enough for total fraud on my credit card account. Absolutely APPALLED by this. Also - why is Crave making it so difficult for even a technically savvy individual to purchase your services?
Support tech said his # is EZ*******. But I didn't ask for his password..
I bought a monthly subscription while visiting my son in vancouver and it only allows me to watch when Im in canada. Should have made it clear that it is only available in canada and I would not have prepaid a subscription, super shaddy and unhappy with this service, why wouldn't you want to have access when travelling? Makes no sense...
Crave tv app is buggy, crashes, freezes, doesn't remember the last show or episode that I watched, and is an insult to anyone paying money for it.
Won't refund anything unless you complain to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU about what should be fraud. Went from 80ish with tax to 100ish in a year also cancelled it and they still charged me and then gave me no recourse.
I subscribed only for HBO, however I quickly returned to torrenting since it was both faster and higher quality. I wish there was another option in Canada, as I want to support the shows.
Specifically, I get buffering issues at 720p (maximum available quality for streaming on computers) while on Netflix I can stream at 1080p or more with absolutely no buffering problems.
The site is slow and over-engineered. The Android app requires frequent force-quitting and is full of bugs. It always feels like a huge hassle to open up Crave TV, to the point where I often change my mind and opt to do something more productive instead.
Just now, I tried to watch The Wire, and it told me I couldn't watch it because of parental controls. I am the only person on the account, and have never touched the parental controls. After calling tech support, it turned out I had to log out and then log back in again. 30 minutes later, I'm here writing this review instead of watching The Wire.
So annoying, it seems to get worse. I have the latest PVR's so that excuse doesn't work. I have two brand new TVs, one Sharp, the other Samsung so they can't blame the TVs. All of my other apps work no problem so that excuse is gone. My modem is the latest tech and my wifi is amazing so those excuses are out as well. I restart, unplug, wait two minutes and more, so those excuses are gone. Is it just a really bad service without all the amazing Netflix features like "continue watching " for twice the price? Is it about time that crave just gives up and should just sell to Netflix already? If I wasn't so deep into Billions, I'd cancel for sure.
Got it for free through Bell and it still sucks. Subscribing to crave only gets you some TV shows, if you want to watch any movies at all you have to also subscribe to the HBO+ package. The selection of TV shows is pretty weak, there's a couple great ones but they're old.
If I could give Crave 0 stars, I would. Offering limited seasons of some shows and making it necessary for customers to subscribe to the Movies + HBO package to watch other seasons or titles is total BS. What a counter-intuitive marketing ploy: I cancelled my subscription with the introduction of Bell's money grab. I didn't lose anything by cancelling since the site regularly freezes and/or crashes, and I can watch all the titles on Crave elsewhere at a fraction of the cost or, in some cases, for free. Don't waste your money on a Crave subscription!
So i paid for a year. Watched first season of several shows. Now whent he second season comes out you need the Premium HBO subsciption. Pretty crafty. I cancelled but would not give a refund. Standard Bell tactics. Dont waste your money. App is junk on Smart TV, Firestick. Only works well on Apple TV. Never again will i give money to Bell. I have said that before but i will not get caught again.
Answer: I would not recommend getting CraveTV. Their customer support and technical support as well as quality is not upto the mark to compete with other service providers.
Answer: Because they only offer the absolute bare minimum for a streaming service, I suspect the ONLY reason it has lots of subscribers because crave seems to offer more rare shows, but for a bigger price mind you.
Answer: Not unless you want to rip all your hair out. Crave has serious streaming problems and mostly you cannot watch it. And if you can the sound is all tinny and canny.
Answer: Absolutely agreed. 100%. Also, they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Never give your payment information to ANY Bell Media company, because they will screw you. Contact the BBB to make a complaint.
Answer: You can't! In the settings online, there is an option, but it doesn't carry over to whatever streaming device you're using it with. Incompetent morons, owned and operated by Canada's leading internet service provider. And Bell Media wonder why people don't like them. My sister has a theory... that Bell keeps their website design backward and out of sync with current progress, so they have an excuse to charge you extra money for their incompetence.
