ConsumerLab.com provides independent test results, reviews, ratings and comparisons of vitamins, supplements, herb and nutrition products to consumers and healthcare providers.
ConsumerLab enjoys a strong reputation among its users, who appreciate the unbiased, detailed information it provides on supplements and health products. Customers frequently highlight the site’s thorough research and reliable testing, which empowers them to make informed decisions about their health. However, some users express frustration with the frequency of email updates and recent login issues related to cookie settings. Additionally, there are requests for broader product reviews, particularly from popular retailers. Overall, while the service is highly valued for its quality and reliability, there are areas for improvement in user experience and communication.

Thank you for doing all this very useful research. As a health food and supplement consumer, I rely on your opinion when I shop. I often buy the products that you recommend and have confidence in your research.
Anyone who has ever taken a supplement needs to subscribe to ConsumrLab and find out what they're really getting. I have learned so much from them and can really distinguish between false marketing promises and actual scientific evidence. I love how they test different brands and find out what's REALLY in them. Such a great service they provide for consumers!
Thank you very much for sharing that, JD. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
Consumer Lab is my go to website for any Vitamin and Herbal Supplements. It is very informative and they continue to update their information. I also like how they request suggestions from their subscribers on what they would like them to review. Great website! Thank you Consumer Lab!
I read the lab reports every time they come out. I save the ones that pertain most to me by marking them unread after reading them and them moving them to a folder I made called Consumer Labs. I save every report but over time when I go back to review them the ones that I marked as unread stand out in my Consumer Lab folder so I can quickly go back to re-read the important ones to me. I also look at the products by brand names to see what is best to purchase
Thank you for that nice feedback, Dave!
I have found that this site provides abundant information ( sometimes almost too much to absorb), specific product information and comparisons and important medical sources and reviews. It is extremely helpful in making decisions and understanding the impact of various supplements and I appreciate the breakdown of ingredients, amounts etc It seems a credible and trustworthy source of timely information!
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab, Kathy. Thanks for letting us know.
There are two vital aspects to CL:
1) Their reviews of the literature, as to the efficacy of various supplements. So often there is no supporting research for a compound, and then also dangerous side effects and/or interactions. These sections are actively updated with notices sent out.
2) Then their analysis of the actual supplement brands available, contents, contaminants, value, etc. If you want to try a supplement, it only makes sense to know what you are getting, and when you are being ripped off.
Thank you for that nice review, Thomas. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.
Without a conflict of interest from sponsored advertisers, I feel fully confident in the advice I have received.

Standing in front of the tuna section in the grocery store, a good portion of what one sees is standard basic lower cost tuna: Starkist, Bumble Bee, store brands, etc. One would never know that reading Consumer Lab's tuna reviews. A couple of years ago the tuna review was all "upscale" versions, i. E., albacore, white tuna and more specialty versions. I wrote in and raised this, and got an insulting reply: the rep couldn't distinguish between the regular version and the reviewed version of one brand I mentioned. So I guess my message never got through, as the review a couple of weeks ago is very much the same. The strange thing is this type of "yuppie" review is not typical of ConsumerLab.
Prior to testing canned fish, we surveyed our readers for suggestions and we purchased the products that were most popular with them. Many of these are the very same, nationally popular brands you mention below, such as Bumble Bee, Starkist, Kirkland, so we are a bit confused by our belief that those brands were not included. By the way, we are now about to test additional products that have been suggested, including canned sardines and tuna in pouches.
Thank you for that nice feedback, Teri!
Being able to get reliable, honest information on supplements is a game changer! So thankful CL tests products and separates the mid-information from the honest facts regarding the products. There always seems to be companies who cheat consumers and mis-label their products. Consumer Labs will identify them and even honor the reliable companies. Worth every penny for membership which pays for this testing and reporting. Thank you, Consumer Labs. I am healthier because of your reporting.
Thank you for that nice review, Kathleen. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.
I find information very helpful when looking at products. The information is sometimes overwhelming as so much and wish they could test every brand but know that is not possible. Consumer lab has helped me decide which products to pick for our use.
We're glad that you enjoy ConsumerLab.com. Thank you for posting your comments.
I have been a member as far back as I can remember... definitely more than 10 years. I reference this site on a regular basis, for myself and others. The background information provided gives you a clear sense of whether or not to use the latest and greatest nutraceutical or decide to buy an old standby from a new company because their production standards are better. I find it invaluable.
Thanks for letting us know, James. That's exactly why we are here.
If I keep buying your subscription, that should be enough said but I like the way you look into the good, the bad and the ugly.
Thank you for that nice review, Grant. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.
I appreciate the objective testing you do and the user-friendly way you present your findings.
Thank you for that nice feedback, Carol!
I am very pleased with your info and product evaluations. What I would suggest is not just checking products for their contents to see if they pass your parameters, but I would like to see you compare the products for effectiveness. It is one thing to see if the contents are legit but it is another to determine it's effectiveness in treating the malady.
Thank you for your feedback, Dave. We will take this into consideration in the future.
I use the site often. Not only are the tests useful, but the resources are great, too.
Thanks for your feedback, Joseph!
ConsumerLab is my go to site when researching brands of suppliments and Vitamins. It both researches and tests various popular brands and when a brand does not have the ingrediants it claims to have, or has heavy metals in the product, they let us know. In addition, they state concerns such as the amounts people take verses what is advisable to take. Overall, they are a comprehensive site with information backed up by data that I can trust. They are my go-to site.
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab, Joanne. Thanks for letting us know.
As a family physician who often recommends natural medications (herbs, vitamins, or supplements) for conditions in which they have been shown to be both safe and effective, I simply could NOT practice nearly as well without this indispensable resource. It's one thing to tell someone to take vitamin D, but it's quite another to hand them a list of ConsumerLab's "Top Picks" which are not only "Approved" as safe but are the best values on the market. BRAVO, CL. Keep up the GREAT work!
Thank you very much for sharing that, Walt. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.

I use it as reference for a number of issues, be it products or ailments. Really good to have and I recommend it to friends.

Answer: There is no single best supplement or brand. It's best to focus on the type of supplement you are looking for, e.g., multivitamin, fish oil, probiotic, herbal) and read our Product Review for that specific category and see which product is our Top Pick for that category. Here is a list of our current reports: https://www.consumerlab.com/results/
