ConsumerLab.com provides independent test results, reviews, ratings and comparisons of vitamins, supplements, herb and nutrition products to consumers and healthcare providers.
ConsumerLab enjoys a strong reputation among its users, who appreciate the unbiased, detailed information it provides on supplements and health products. Customers frequently highlight the site’s thorough research and reliable testing, which empowers them to make informed decisions about their health. However, some users express frustration with the frequency of email updates and recent login issues related to cookie settings. Additionally, there are requests for broader product reviews, particularly from popular retailers. Overall, while the service is highly valued for its quality and reliability, there are areas for improvement in user experience and communication.

Happy with everything about the site except forcing me to uncheck the keep-me-logged-in box everytime I go there.
Please, folks... for those who want to stay signed in it's a one time thing. For others, it's a continual annoyance.
Thanks for asking. Glad you're doing what you do.
ConsumerLab.com is my go-to source for info on vitamins and other supplements as well as on miscellaneous ingestibles such as cocoa/chocolate, coconut water, bone broth, etc. as they relate to nutrition and health. Now I learn about Covid-19, too. ConsumerLab.com provides a thorough compilation of research on these subjects, giving pros and cons so I can make the best choices for my family and myself.
ConsumerLab.com provides unbiased, research-backed recommendations for supplements. They also publish summaries of supplement-related research.
Yes, that's exactly what we do. Thanks for your review, Brad. Glad that our information is helpful to you.
I want to know if what we are taking as supplements are safe and hopefully effective. I feel we have that by following the research done at Consumer Lab
We're glad that you enjoy ConsumerLab.com Doug. Thank you for posting your comments.
Not as helpful as I had hoped. Some products that I was interested in knowing about were not reviewed.
Hi Dorothy - As there are so many different supplements on the market, we can't test them all, but we do test a good selection of brands from a variety of marketing channels. Our members often end up finding a better supplement, and at lower cost, than what they were initially looking at. We also survey our readers annually for input on which supplements to test, and we consider any suggestions they wish to email.
I started with Consumer Labs when the annual fee was $25.00. It was well worth it then and I still consider it worth the current annual price. It has been an excellent resource in working with patients at the Health Center and for my own use. The summaries of the latest research saves me time and is a must read before selecting any supplement. If you want more information, the references are provided.
Excellent for personal and professional use.
Kathleen Majka, MPH, RDN
Thank you very much for sharing that, Kathleen. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
There are some very good articles with an abundance of information... my issue is that so many times the items that are reviewed do not include many of the items i can purchase on sites like Swanson... so it is difficult to make a comparison
We're glad to have you as a member, Kenneth. Thanks for your review. You can always feel free, as can any member, to shoot us suggestions on products you would like to see us test in the future.
Very in-depth information about products we use every day. These reviews enable us to compare products and choose the best for us. It is the "consumer reports" of supplements.
Thank you, Jean. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
Being able to find a review of the supplements I'm interested in is almost priceless. Some reviews have saved me money because I find the supplement is useless or because they show I'm paying too much. Finding information based on actual science is difficult even with internet. I will continue to subscribe.
Consumerlab is one of my go to sources of info on meds and treatments. It appears reputable. I haven't fact checked it. I should. I will.
Excellent for the most part my only complaint is that they are unable to review more products. I know there way too many vendors selling there wares for you to get to them all but i can hope.
I've been s subscriber for years. This is my go-to resource to check out vitamins and minerals hopefully before making a purchase. They can't review every product, of course, but what I can find. I study the data and try to make informed decisions.
Thanks for you review, Cynthia.
For everything I've read on the site it appears to be honest, truthful, interesting, current, and great resource for supplement information. I refer to it a couple of times a week. I only wish my local health supplement stores would stock the recommended products (smallish town, a limited number of stores to shop at!)
We are glad that ConsumerLab has been a valued resource for you, Warren. Thanks for posting your review!
For each supplement, ConsumerLab explains the purpose; evaluates the effectiveness, citing specific tests (and noting whether the test was sponsored by the vendor); states for each vendor whether the label is accurate, whether there are any harmful impurities, how well the active ingredients are absorbed, and the cost per serving; lists any adverse interactions with drugs or other supplements; and provides related advice. In a perfect world, they would test every vendor's product; although for reasons of cost, they test only the most popular or important vendors, it is rare that I can't find a ConsumerLab-approved online or in a local store. Only complaint--I sent several Emails (in 2014) to ConsumerLab, but never got a response.
That's a great description of our product reviews, James. Thanks for posting your review. Not sure what happened in 2014, but we do try to respond to all emails.
I've been a ConsumerLab member for a very long time. Every health product I buy I research on the site first. Couldn't live without it! Thank you for your great expertise.
Thank you for your kind words, Christine, and for your ongoing support!

I continually research the information & quality of the supplements I use or may want to use to improve my nutrition and health. They cover all aspects of each subject and their ratings allow me to get the best quantity & quality at an economical price.
That's exactly what we do, Walter. Thanks for mentioning that in your review.
CL gives detailed information about a product and how it works and what it does. Then it rates a limited number of providers. I would like to see more reviews of products at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.
Thanks Alice. We do frequently test products from Whole Foods (365 brand supplements and some foods) and Trader Joe's (mostly their foods, such as dark chocolates and other health-related foods), but we'll keep your request in mind.
I've learned to trust the information published by ConsumerLab because it's handled in a way that is careful, considered, and conscientious.
Thanks Harlan. We are proud to have earned your trust.
Always has been my go to for reviews of cost and purity of supplements and vitamins I was interested in. With the supplements I am now taking because of the Covid19 pandemic they have been a great resource.
We are glad that we're helpful to you, Richard, particuarly during the pandemic. Thanks for letting us know.

Answer: There is no single best supplement or brand. It's best to focus on the type of supplement you are looking for, e.g., multivitamin, fish oil, probiotic, herbal) and read our Product Review for that specific category and see which product is our Top Pick for that category. Here is a list of our current reports: https://www.consumerlab.com/results/
Answer: Yes, we recently published a new report on turmeric and curcumin supplements as well as turmeric spice (ground root powders) at https://www.consumerlab.com/reviews/turmeric-curcumin-supplements-spice-review/turmeric/
