I can't thank the Arkansas Connections Academy family enough. With all the things my son was dealing with they rolled up their sleeves and said "We Got This!" No hesitation about it, thank you sooo much and now it is my son's senior year approaching.
I think for the future they should have a door so the older and the people with disabilities want have to stand up outside. Other than that I think everything was really nice.
Hi Alice, Thank you for your feedback on the graduation ceremony. We appreciate your suggestion about having a designated entrance for older guests and those with disabilities, and we'll consider it for future events to ensure everyone's comfort. We're glad you enjoyed the rest of the ceremony and look forward to making it even better next time. Thank you again for your input! ~Alexis

As parents we have bad experiences on our school district. Our daughter was always on special class, since we found a online virtual charter school on connections academy, Our experience was great our daughter was removed from special school class and she improved more on her academic studies and now our daughter will start her high school year with honor classes. If any parents are looking for a good school, we definitely recommend Connections Academy.
Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Connections Academy, Alberto! Throughout my years being in connections it has been intriguing and fun. With a lot of fun classes and nice and helpful teachers. Mr. Schumacher was a great help to me throughout my senior year as well and he is my favorite teacher being both kind and helpful with both school and whatever else I needed.
Thank you for sharing your positive experience, Travis! It's great to hear that you enjoyed your classes and had the opportunity to engage in experiments, which can make learning so much more exciting. It's wonderful to have educators who are not only knowledgeable but also kind and supportive. ~Alexis
The pictures below are mistakes found in the last week only. If I posted all the mistakes in the curriculum, sitejabber would make me a shareholder for posting too much. THEY HIGHLY ENCOURAGE STUDENTS NOT TO SHOW UP FOR MCAS. THE PRINCIPAL IS WELL AWARE OF IT!
This school should be shut down immediately. It's a joke. They don't even know where people live.
My child is going right back to the same grade next year. To a real school. This isn't a school at all. Here's why.
There are all types of mistakes in the curriculum. All types of typos, some things are completely missing. You click on the "show answer" link and there is absolutely nothing there. I mean nothing. Let's get into system issues. Those would be the equivalent to snow days. Any given moment the students get kicked out of the system. They can't get back on until the next day, hopefully. You have absolutely no idea what just happened, wondering whether or not the issue is on your side. 10 times out of 10 it's them. Keep in mind, the kids CAN NOT DO ANYTHING SCHOOL RELATED DURING THESE OUTAGES. THERE ARE NO MAKEUP DAYS AT ALL.
There is no flexibilty. That's a lie. They literally have live lessons all day. On top of the all day live lessons with their teachers, they have separate online lessons. ELA is 30 pages a day alone plus entire books that need to be read (during the lesson) in order to answer the 3 to 5 questions at the end of the lesson. Yes, 3 to 5 questions per lesson a day. Multiple choice questions at that. No written out answers. The don't have to write a sentence. Not one. They have the kids skipping courses that have information needed for tests. Everything they do is open book. EVERYTHING! They can google their answers all day long. In fact, there is a website that has the exact same questions as the school. I'm talking copied and pasted. There is no way to fail in this school simply because you don't really have to learn anything.
This is no school. Not one that has "learning" as the goal. This place benefits teachers that don't want to be inside the classroom. Point blank. The kids are allowed to take the MCAS at home. (The teachers encourage the students not to take the test). They waited until the last minute to say the test can't be taken on personal devices. They blindly mail filthy devices to your home literally the day of or the day before and expect you to touch it. Not happening. It's disgusting.
Don't sign your kid up for this school. The pictures provided below are just some of many wrongs. Trust me, if I list all of them I'd be here for the next two months.

When it comes to student work, accountability and authenticity are our priorities. Connections Academy schools work diligently on academic integrity and proactively address it throughout the year with both Caretakers and students, who are required to sign an Honor Code. Providing clear information on what academic integrity is, why it is important, and how to adhere to it has helped our students better understand expectations. Connections Academy currently takes additional steps to address academic integrity issues, such as randomized assessments, portfolios, recurring check-ins, monitoring time spent on an assessment, etc.

Connections has been amazing for our family! All info is communicated clearly & concisely and the website is very user-friendly. The few times we've actually needed to call with questions, I've spoken with a live person and my issue was addressed & resolved quickly.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with Connections Academy, Joanna! We're thrilled to hear that our communication and user-friendly website have been helpful for your family. ~Alexis
My son's 2nd grade teacher had been spending time focused on his reading throughout the year and finally suggested that we involve a speech therapist. I did not even realize our school had one. His confidence with reading, especially out loud has improved significantly over the last few months.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Adrien! It's wonderful to hear how your son's teacher and the school's speech therapist have made such a positive impact on his reading skills and confidence. It's truly a team effort, and we're thrilled to see him thriving. ~Alexis
My child is able to learn in a comfort of his own home with on hand teachers and administrator. This will be his 3rd year we are so excited to continue our journey.
We love this, Renata! We hope your student has a great third year with us! ~Alexis
Since I have enrolled Dixie in Connections, I have seen a major difference in her... she has progressed without having any stress factors, and her Teachers have been Great when it comes to helping her...
Thank you for leaving your review, Merla! We're thrilled to hear that your student isn't stressed at our school! ~Alexis
We love the school Nathaniel Ross take his time. He learn better. He meets a lot of friends. He ask teacher Question. And Live Class he can interact with his teacher and classmates. I recommend everyone.
Since lockdown, we've been going to Connections Academy. There was half a year that my student attended her old school, where she didn't get enough help and access to tutoring during that time. Connections academy has ample help, capable and caring staff, amazing counseling and excellent learning programs and apps. Their tech department is peopled with helpful and knowledgeable staff, and the extra curricular activities are ample. My child has formed plenty of friendships and had some really fun outings in addition to being able to tackle some of her difficult subjects. I wasn't planning to stay this long, but I have to say: They are stellar!
Thank you for your review, Sarah! We're thrilled to hear that your family has taken advantage of all that Connections Academy has to offer! ~Alexis
The first two weeks were the toughest- learning the system, how to properly navigate the sites, all that jazz.
Once we got going my daughter, age 13, took off! She really enjoys having such a role in her learning, and she knows she can always schedule a one on one if needed. Several times though out the school year she emailed her teachers with questions or concerns and they ALWAYS answered her back literally within the hour most of the time. The only bummer is we live in Roseburg and all the events/field trips were over two hours away. She misses having friendships in person, so that was the only downfall we encountered.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, Jill! We're so happy to hear that your daughter is doing so well at our school. We hope to offer more socialization opportunities closer to you in the future! ~Alexis
We love our teachers Especially Ms. Lopez, she always make sure that her student's hardwork is appreciated. Robin from Admin dept, Yangka, Lisa and Rachel from Enrollment, Cassandra from Technical dept to all Councilors Lisa and Jennifer who helped us through the process smoothly and been really communicative and helpful with all our inquiries. We appreciate you all!
Hi Cristina, Thank you for the great review! We're thrilled to hear that our staff members have had such a positive impact on your family! ~Alexis
We have not had great experiences with other online/virtual schools in Wyoming and our local school district. WYCA has been a wonderful option for our kids! Our kids love it and are doing great! Would recommend it for any family looking for an online public school with live teacher classes and extra curricular activities and clubs!
We love to hear that you're so pleased with Wyoming Connections Academy, Christy! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! ~Alexis
I just wanted to say that switching to online school has been a huge game changer for my 12yr old daughter. In brick n mortar school my kiddo was straight D's and F's she was bullied, her self esteem was zero. At CA she's making A's, B's and a couple of C's. This was done so much for her self worth and self esteem. The only regret I have is not doing it sooner! We love all of her teachers, they are all so kind and so helpful! This past semester was our 1st and we will definitely be returning in the fall!
We're sorry to hear that your daughter had such a difficult time at her previous school, but we're so happy to hear that she is truly thriving at our school. Thank you so much for sharing, Kristina! ~Alexis
My son & I truly appreciate Connections Academy. Our experience has been really good. The support from the Teachers is amazing. The LIVE lessons support the learning experience and growth of the student. Also, I think the format of the Planner teaches the student how to manage their calendar. The feedback emails from the teachers are great. The email provides a link that the student can review & take the necessary action, if needed to improve. We are returning next year, which will be my son's Senior Year. Oh and your process supported our transition from brick and mortar school to the online experience.
Wow, Nicole! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your review! We're thrilled to hear that you and your son have both had such a positive experience at our school. We hope he has the best senior year next school year! ~Alexis
Its a great school to bring your kids school they work with your kids when they can
Thank you for your kind words, Tina! We love to know that you've had such a positive experience at our school! ~Alexis
Answer: Work at your own pace is the biggest lie out there. Supplies are usually quick to arrive though.
Answer: That is a very good question Dee. We were drawn in with that promise as well. They use exampmes of child athletes and child actors (at least they did when we were going through their website looking for schooling options) as examples of how flexible their program is but we found it to be a very different experience.
Answer: Do not put your child in this program i hate it i switched to connexus i could get more time in the gym and work out i used to spend five hours in the gym in normal school but now im only limited to one hour a day because i have so much work.the teachers never respond and its horrible they dont help me and when im at gym they call then i cant i pick up so they call my parents who are at work and will get in trouble if on there phones. I hate tis school and everyone in it and your kids will to so DO NOT DO IT! 1111
Answer: Attendance is more important to the school keeping it's Charter, than making sure a student is truly on track academically. The School has no communication skills, which is why it probably attracts lazy teachers.
Answer: I find that people take the time to vent about bad experiences rather than take the time to write reviews for good experiences. If things are working, why scour the internet for reviews. Every kiddo/parent will have a different experience with Connections Academy. Like any school program, it's not going to be right for everyone, not everyone will like a teacher, or administration or class... It's a rigorous school, not a homeschool program with lots of flexibility and curriculum that can be changed. It's working for my 7th grader, but it is hard and we wouldn't be enrolled if he didn't have me to sit by him 80% of the time. Otherwise he's getting an excellent education in Oregon and we love the teachers.
Answer: Yes, you can do you your at any time. I start at 5:00am and finish at 11:00am.
Answer: Maybe once a month. The student might get a phone call from his or her homeroom teacher on a monthly basis. Other than that, unless you or the student contact the teacher individually, then the interaction is done as a whole in the Live Lesson rooms. And so much outside stuff goes on during Live Lessons, the students do not get a lot out of them.
Answer: Hi Tina, Teachers schedule LiveLesson sessions (usually one per subject per day), and other work is done independently. Teachers are available outside of the virtual classroom for more support if needed. Outside of the LiveLesson sessions, work is done independently, and students can typically complete their schoolwork any time of the day, any day of the week. ~Alexis
Answer: Hi Malorie, Teachers schedule LiveLesson sessions (usually one per subject per week), and other work is done independently. Teachers are available outside of the virtual classroom for more support if needed. In general, there is no set time to log in outside of the LiveLesson sessions, so students can typically work any time of the day, any day of the week. For information specific to the school(s) in your state, please email us at [email protected]. Thanks! ~Alexis
Answer: Hi Monique, Many students with special needs thrive in online school. Can you please email us at [email protected] so we can connect you with the Special Education team in your state and also provide you with additional eligibility information about the school(s) in your state? Thank you! ~Alexis
