My experience with compressionsale.com was a good one. The hose I ordered arrived a little early (yay!) and the order was correct, however the first pair of hose I tried on had a hole in the heel at the end of the first day I wore them -less than 6 hours so I didn't even try the second pair for fear the same thing would happen. The online process for returns/refunds is a bit time consuming. I called to talk to a human and was told I had to fill out the form online.

I ordered $400 worth of compression stockings for a family member. The website no longer had one of the stockings that we ordered in multiples (6 pairs) in stock. However, they neglected to remove the item from the site, allowed you to "purchase" them, told you you had purchased them, but then substituted the stockings for a different type (same brand but WRONG stockings, very different fiber composition). Then they mailed them to us, and on the receipt had the right stocking name/number, but then just mailed the wrong stockings. Hoping we wouldn't notice, I guess.

The stockings are not equivalent, and will not work for my father. Compression stockings are very expensive, and have a limited life span. For that reason, it takes a long time to find the correct type/brand/compression strength that works for you. For a company to substitute another pair without telling you clearly and asking if you would accept the substitute is worse than "bait and switch". It is fraud.

When I contacted the company asking to return the item they mailed in error, as we didn't order it, they said the correct item was not available, and that this was stated on the website.

WHAT?!?

If you scroll down on the web page with the advertisement for the correct pair of stockings... down two pages... in small blue print... it says that they no longer have the stockings and will substitute an equivalent.

The warning is hidden, not clear, misleading and suggests they want you to miss it. Why in the world even OFFER the stockings on the website, tell me I bought them on the purchasing page where I entered my credit card info, confirm it by email and receipt... and then quietly substitute with a different item... unless they were hoping I wouldn't notice?

Right now I am trying to reach a supervisor. Very poor customer service by email so far. They should they be apologe, take back the stockings, and pay for shipping since my receipt does not match the item sent. The item will not work. It is not an equivalent substitute.

And they should take down items no longer available from their website to end the confusion.

I will update this review if they correctly rectify this situation.
